Great omakase
Excellent omakase experience. Friendly and fun sushi chef and an excellent sake-pairing. Went there as a family and throughly enjoyed the intimate setting.
Be the first to ReplyInteresting experience and dinner
Very pricey but well executed dinner. I would recommend serving also non-sushi non-sashimi dishes for a more comprehensive experience. A safe space away from the Dubai buzz, but still with a great view and excellent service.
Be the first to ReplyBest Japanese in the world!!!!
For me one of the best Japanese restaurants in the world, even compared to Chabot restaurants in Japan, a truly exceptional experience, 1 m below very very very friendly I loved it I can't get over it I would like to eat this every day . For sushi of exceptional quality.. It's very expensive, but it's justified..

Sushi Hōseki, nestled in the exclusive Bvlgari hotel in Dubai, offers an extraordinary dining experience for sushi connoisseurs. Led by the highly acclaimed Itamae Masahiro Sugiyama, this restaurant has gained international recognition. Awarded one Michelin star by The Michelin Guide Dubai for two consecutive years since 2022 and ranked 26th on The World’s 50 Best Restaurants, MENA 2023, Sushi Hoseki lives up to its prestigious reputation. With just nine seats, dining at Hōseki is an intimate affair, offering a unique omakase experience. The skilled sushi chefs showcase their artistry and expertise, presenting a carefully curated selection of dishes that highlight the flavors of Japan. Every piece of fish is flown in directly from Japan, ensuring the utmost freshness and authenticity in every bite. What sets Sushi Hoseki apart is not only the culinary excellence but also the mesmerizing view. The dining room overlooks the Dubai skyline, creating a magical backdrop for each intimate dinner. While the prices reflect the exclusivity and quality of the dining experience, Sushi Hoseki is undeniably worth every penny for those seeking to indulge in the finest Japanese cuisine in Dubai.

By far the best sushi in Dubai. The staff has changed for the better. The service, over the top. The quality of the ingredients shine. This is an experience worth the cost.

I have been to Hoseki a few times already and every time it’s simply a delight- fresh fish straight from Japan, perfect shari rice, beautiful presentation and great service. I am a committed fan

Hoseki is the place to go when you are seeking for authentic sashimi sans California roll experience. Everything was aligned perfectly by Sugiyama-san and every single fish was fresh from Japan. Sake selection was superb. Get ready to eat McDonald’s the next few days.

Be the first to ReplyHōseki: The Best Omakase outside of the Asia Pacific is no longer in New York, it's in Dubai
Synopsis: For those in a rush here's what you need to know about the best omakase outside of the Asia Pacific. Location stunning. Ambience Tranquil. Food Exquisite. Preparation masterful. Value Absolutely. Service authentic in its attentiveness and precision. Forget the reviews below from 2018, I can only surmise that it took a couple of years to nail down and refine the requisite logistics needed to bring the best of Japan to Dubai without compromise. That’s now well in hand.
The full review follows:
At this time of the year I'm typically making my annual pilgrimage back to Singapore or Japan where I get my Omakase fix for the year (Sushi Saito, Sawada or Shinji) and then I lament the fusion I'm stuck with in London for the remainder of the year (sorry Zuma, Nobu you just don't cut it). Covid strikes and I find myself in Dubai, but lo and behold I touch base with the the worlds 50 best restaurants guide and I’m privy to learn that Chef Masahiro Sugiyama has set himself up at Hōseki. And anyone who can trace a lineage back to the coveted Shinji is worth a try. That said, I went in with expectations managed, those who know anything about the complexity of outsourcing ingredients from Japan understand why the sushi in London is sub par. And it’s a 12 hour flight from Tokyo to Dubai and about the same to Sapporo assuming you want to source some of that Hokkaido sea urchin roe.
So I don’t know how he’s done it but based on the conversation we had this evening I expect it was inordinately complex and took a few years to really nail down. But nail it down, he has and having been treated to the best Omakase I’ve ever had outside of the Asia Pacific and yes I will go so far as to put it on par with the best of Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore. It’s absolutely at the level, only marginally diminished and that diminishment is not in quality it was in individual portion quantity (not that I’ll complain, I prefer slightly smaller pieces to masticate over through the course of a lengthy meal). But let’s put the value in a global perspective, if you wanted to enjoy the equivalent Omakase experience in Singapore it’s starting at 400-500 SGD (1,100 - 1,400 AED), Hong Kong its 965 - 1,100 AED, Taiwan 760 - 1,000 AED - as you get closer back to Japan the logistics get easier and hence the price adjusts accordingly. Now bear in mind that Singapore is 6 hours from Japan, not 12… Why am I harping on this point? Because from the reviews on TripAdvisor thus far, the 4.8 ratings cite value @ 4. Sorry guys, Value should be the highest score - it warrants an 8 out of 5 (that isn't a typo). And sure, I understand for the domestic market it’s at the top of the price point but you have to appreciate what’s been done. Okay, let me wrap this up. I hadn't had the pleasure of visiting the Bvlgari in Dubai up until now but having been to their establishment in Nusa Dua some years back I had high expectations. Here I wasn’t disappointed. The surroundings do justice to the standard. It’s a beautiful setting. Tranquil. A stunning vista looking back at the city. And the service you demand at this price point - impeccable, there when needed but nowhere to be seen when you don’t. Your needs anticipated in advance - you don’t want to put your covid mask on the beautiful cypress wood counter? Don’t worry they’ve planned for it. So what are you waiting for? You now have the best of the best on your doorstep - get in now (while you still can) because I promise you once people realise just how good Hōseki is, it’ll be a 3 month waiting list.
Absolutely recommendable
Lovely intimate setting ! On the terrace one can only stand, but you get a perfect view of Dubai‘s skyline. Splendid sushi and service. We’ve spent a memorable evening ! Thank you !
Be the first to ReplyBest Sushi in Dubai!
Definitely the best sushi we’ve had in Dubai and amongst the best we’ve had outside of Japan.
You can choose between a 5 starter + 10 sushi or 7 starter + 12 sushi set Omakase style dinner. Everything is fresh and flown straight from Japan. Excellent sushi and service.
Over priced, BEST Japanese in Dubai
Tiny Japanese restaurant in the Bulgari Hotel. Only 10 people can sit, so RESERVATION is a must.
Only 2 option on the lunch "menu"! The expensive one (500AED) or the very expensive one (900AED)...! For dinner it is 900 or 1400 I think...
The concept (Omakase) is simple: the chef prepares sushi for you, depending on his inspiration and available products (ALL imported from Japan!).
Depending on the menu you choose, you will have 1 or 3 appetisers and 5 or 9 sushis (usually 1 piece each!!!). Not sure how it goes for dinner...
Needless to say, you may leave still hungry if you are planning on a festin...!
Having said that, the place, the atmosphere, the staff, the quality of the products, the tastes, are all to such a high level that this is not food, it is Art...!
I love sushi and eats lots of them all over the world, but this was the most authentic and delicious ones I have ever had (and original too!). The fish was so fresh and tasty, the rice so perfectly cooked and seasoned, the products so delicious and delicately prepared!
A shame it is so expensive (but Art is priceless, right?). Hence the 4 stars only.
But if you want to try the real deal in sushi, this is the place to go and the price to pay in Dubai!!!
Amazing experience
Have had the pleasure to dine at Hoseki with my close friend, Chef is a true professional a master at his art, the course keep coming and the provenance of the products are explained and each dish takes you on a different flavor experience, one of my favorite places in Dubai will take some beating, from the time you arrive till the time you leave the staff are truly professional great hotel great restaurants.
