Perfect evening
Fantastic, loved every minute! I stayed here with my boyfriend but arrived a few hours before him on my own and the staff were so friendly and personable, especially one of the male staff members (which I am super sad to have not remembered his name!). We went to the spa the next day which was also WONDERFUL. Thank you :)
Be the first to ReplyPerfect hotel for a special birthday night away!
Beautifully designed hotel, gorgeous spa with 2 saunas, steam room, pool and outside jacuzzi (plus amazing massage), delicious breakfast, friendly staff, and great location. Couldn't ask for more for my 40th birthday night away and would definitely come back!

What a brilliant stay at this hotel. The staff were super efficient and friendly, the 6th floor room we stayed in bright modern and amply spacious with views across to the cathedral. If and when we visit again this will be the only place we stay.
Be the first to ReplyWonderful hotel that just gets better and better
The last time I stayed at this wonderful hotel was almost 20 years ago when it first opened. It has only improved and refined with age! It is still as well maintained, delightfully designed and as effortlessly cool as ever! It was rumoured the last time I was there that the VP of the USA was staying and I was lucky enough to spot another Hollywood A lister in the residents lounge this time. Check in was flawless, the bedroom was beautiful..all the important boxes ticked with good quality towels, bedding and amazing showers. Breakfast was delicious. All in all, an amazing experience- thank you Hope Street Hotel!
Be the first to ReplyShoddy customer service
Previously, our go to hotel when staying in Liverpool, but more recently standards have fallen, with the exception of reservations...the lovely, efficient Katie and house keeping. We are in our second night of a three night stay in one of the premium rooms, well over a thousand pound spent. But due to a late change of plan , we attempted to get a meal in the main restaurant, no availability understandable as it was Mother's day...We were happy to sit in the bar, but were told we could only be offered the sandwich menu, I pointed our that we were residents of the hotel to no avail. Why as residents, could we not be offered the same menu as the restaurant as we would be sitting lees than 3 metres from the main restaurant is beyond me. The answer was no.....so we took our business across the road to Papillion. In my view completely unacceptable, we were happy to sit in the bar but the staff were unwilling to accommodate us.....In my view unacceptable

Be the first to ReplyAmazing!
I stayed a few weeks ago. The room was amazing with lovely views over the city, room service dinner (pizza) was delicious and breakfast was lovely - a great variety to choose from! I also did a yoga class and spent some time at the spa - both were wonderful. The spa facilities are fantastic and the treatments (mini facial and mini massage) were great! Thank you to all the staff for making it a perfect stay.
Be the first to ReplyBest hotel in Liverpool
Stayed here recently and it was outstanding from start to finish. Jan assisted us with the booking and Tash on the reception desk was so warm and welcoming, the rest of the experience was just as good. The room was stunning and the spa is one of the best Iāve ever been in - absolutely gorgeous. Would highly recommend, thank you for such a lovely stay. We will be back!

Be the first to ReplyOur first stay here but not our last!
Our first stay here but not our last! Very well presented the reception public areas and rooms were maintained to a high standard. The location is excellent, previously we have stayed near peirhead, that was a mistake as you are some distance from the beating heart of the city and the modern hotels here sit in a rather barren soulless area a good 15 minute walk from the real heart of the city. Not so with this hotel, Philharmonic, Concert halls, university, cathedrals and shopping all within 5-10mins walk or less. The bed was very comfortable, bathroom was as new but with a rather weird shower set up which basically soaked the entire floor by the door making it very hard to not traipse water all around the place, we used the bath instead! Also why no soap? Small kettle and tea, fresh milk was supplied by reception (no fridge), coffee was from one of those nesspresso capsule machines. We have used them before but this model was particularly useless producing tiny portions even if cycled twice on one capsule frankly a waste of time. Breakfast was entirely acceptable but a little unmemorable, part of the fun of going away is a special breakfast. The tone was rather let down with cold meats and cheeses all wrapped in cling film. There was little explanation from the staff as to how it all worked and as far as we could see no menu. To be honest we went to Moose (opposite side of road to the front door) and had really excellent breakfasts there. The bar and dining room we did not experience but the outward appearance was professional and modern with a convivial atmosphere at busy times Our biggest disappointment was finding the pool could not be used without booking a two hour session in the spa, at Ā£45 this would have made a swim for two Ā£90. This was not made clear on the website, the spa gets very good reviews it seems so probably after a different market The reception staff were excellent Would we go again.??.most certainly!
Be the first to ReplyAmazing anniversary stay
Such a special hotel. Everything feels top quality but in a relaxed unshouty way. Lovely staff. Excellent food. We were upgraded to a gorgeous and spacious corner suite with breath taking views across Liverpool. Lovely touches like anniversary chocolates! Just amazing.
Be the first to ReplyHope Street Hotel Liverpool, fantastic stay.
I stayed here whilst Riverside Housing attempted to sort out mould and damp issues, they didn't. However, the hotel was excellent, lovely, spacious room, fantastic, friendly staff and I had the first decent sleep in 7 years, as I only get,at the most,4 hours, because of Riverside Housing negligence toward me. I highly recommend Hope Street Hotel for a stay, I felt safe, at home, and it was a wonderful stay.
Be the first to ReplyPoor customer service when there was a problem
This would have been 3.5 stars: nice place, good area, decor a bit spoartan/Scandi, expensive for what it is. But...
I paid over Ā£400 for one night for a couple, plus an evening meal for 4. One of the reasons I booked this hotel was that they advertise 24 hours of car parking in the Angican Cathedral car park for Ā£10. I did all the correct procedures when I parked, swapping the machine ticket for a "discount" ticket at the lodge.
When I returned the next day and went to pay at the machine, it charged me Ā£15. It ws pouring with rain, and we were in a hurry to get home, so I paid, assuming I could get a refund later. However, when I emailed the hotel (with a scan of the receipt), "Damian" replied with words to the effect that it was nothing to do with them, and I'd have to take it up with the Cathedral.
I know it's a trivial amount of money, but as a matter of principle, it is to do with the hotel - they advertise it as a key selling point on their website, and it's one of the key reasons I chose that hotel rather than another. So to me, this reflects a poor attitude to customer service. I won't stay there again.
The place to be and stay in Liverpool
Drinks at the bar was as good as ever. Pornstar martini's special as it was not on the menu. The cocktail was made by a lovely Liverpool university student studying international relations and politics. Overall a nice atmosphere and a definite place to be in town. Stay in the hotel for a wonderful experience with great rooms with a view.
Be the first to ReplyA pleasant stay and visit
After writing a previous mediocre review and I needed to be close to the university I thought Iād try again as surely we must have hit on a bad day last time.
Very nice happy welcoming receptionist, excellent immaculate room and great breakfast. We also ate in the pizza pasta restaurant as our son whom we visited preferred that and said it was the best pizza he had ever had!
Clean, comfortable and chic
Great service, location and design.
Room was very clean and modern.
Several options available for room service food.
Kelly from the spa was friendly and helpful in advising on treatments and going through the facilities.
Just what Liverpool needed
Have stayed at various hotels in Liverpool and always been disappointed. Not this time. From booking to checking out it has been seemless. The room spacious clean and functional. Had a spa treatment which was excellent - very professional - breakfast was very good a there was plenty of choice. Staff helpful and polite Would definitely book again when I am next in Liverpool - hopefully soon
Be the first to ReplyGreat location
We stayed for my birthday celebration which was fantastic, the hotel added a lovely little touch of putting some truffles in the room on arrival. Room was modern spotlessly clean & well decorated. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice, we ordered an omelette that was cooked fresh and extremely adequate.
We didn't have dinner but some of the other guests were saying how good it was, so will definitely try that next time. We did have a drink in the bar that we enjoyed & served well.
Bit disappointed
We went for a special birthday trip to Liverpool and so wanted an equally special place to stay but unfortunately found this hotel a bit hit and miss.
Good: check-in and check-out staff, reception for booking taxis etc all very polite and helpful. Bar was lovely and staff also very good. Location is excellent, beautiful building. Wonderful treatment in the spa - the lady who carried out the treatment was extremely friendly and professional.
Not so good: room was not as clean as expected. There was a lot of dust and empty wrappers (!) under the bed - it was one with legs so you could see this. There was staining around the shower/bath. Room (facing the back) was quite noisy - could hear a bottle bin being emptied each morning very early. We returned to the room one day after housekeeping had been/finished to find the room unlocked. The two members of staff were fairly dismissive, verging on rude, when I asked a straightforward question.
I really wanted to love this place but don't think it was up to the standard I expect for the price, sadly.
Yet another fabulous stay!
My wife and I stayed here recently for 1 night as part of a celebration. The experience was 1st class. From the initial friendly welcome, to an amazing bedroom - clean, great facilities and a spectacular view of the city - we could not fault it. The breakfast was also superb. I'd recommend this hotel as a must stay and Liverpool is lucky to have such a gem.
Be the first to ReplyA must for a Short Break Stay
This hotel is awesome and the staff are outstanding. Check-in was handled swiftly and with just the right amount of humour.
Our room was clean, light and spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Great quality toiletries in the bathroom too.
Bar and lounges are all comfortable and great for a catch up with family. We didn't eat in the restaurant but looking at the food going by I wish we had, it looked delicious.
The only thing missing in our room was a mirror (there was only one in the bathroom). I did mention this on check out and the team member did mention they have portable mirrors available on request, not something I would have thought to ask for so maybe they should mention this option to guests checking into the rooms that don't have mirrors.
Highly recommend this lovely hotel, one side of the hotel faces a busy road, if you think the noise might be an issue for you request a room away from this street - rather than moan to the staff about the noise afterwards.
Lovely rooms but service could have been a little better!
Our stay was tainted by the way the checkin was handled. When we arrived early we were able to drop our bags off until we were able to check in. They also provided an umbrella for all of us to use as well as helping us with parking.
However, when we came back to check in we paid for one room with no issues but when we tried to check into another room their card machine would not work. So we tried a few cards including the one we had just paid for the first room with and none of them would work. Instead of suggesting it was their machine that was not working the lady was adamant it was the cards that were not working which was not the case. This was obviously embarrassing and incorrect which could have been dealt with in a different and more sensitive way. It was rectified in the end however to start our stay like this was not very pleasant.
Also, to top off our stay the door handle came off in my hand as we went out for the evening.
