When we arrived at Holly Jolly, we were told that they were fully booked out despite the abundance of seating and, as we soon learned, available online reservations. We should have heeded the host and went elsewhere, but instead we dutifully paid the absurd price per person and entered what could only be described as the epitome of the lowest effort NYC tourist trap. As we walked in, a group of clearly drunk women screamed "this place is amazing, you'll love it!" at us; sign no. 1 that we should have promptly turned around and left. The general decor was cheap but instagrammable if you got the right angle -- but the menu didn't even try. Not a single holiday themed cocktail existed. Putting "merry" in front of Moscow Mule does not make it anything other than a Moscow Mule. Now, it could have been salvaged with at least half an effort somewhere. Either cute glassware / presentation, or at least a serviceable drink. Neither existed. The drinks were terrible -- my espresso martini was at once way too sweet and way too boozy, with the saddest little plastic ornament bobbing around as holiday decor. My husband's coffee drink came with curdled cream and not even the smallest attempt at a festive presentation; and our friends' drinks basically tasted like it was poured out of a vat of pre-mixed cocktails made by someone who only has the vaguest sense of what a cocktail is. Getting mugged outside the bar would have likely felt like a less insulting use of our

Mad Morton is the place where they have the Holly Jolly Holiday bar. We had a 3:30pm reservation for a table for 4 but we ended up only being 2 people. We got here early and tried to see if we could be seated earlier. At first they said no but then they came back to us and said they could seat us at a table. this place looked better on instagram but we still had fun and enjoyed our holiday drinks. I had the snowman martini and then a hot chocolate with vodka and it comes in a cute christmas tree mug. And my friend had a drink with prosecco and strawberry and lemon something. Her drink came with an ornament where you had to pour the strawberry liquid into the drink. And then she also had the hot chocolate. Both of our drinks were tasty. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. She was super! very friendly too. If you want to be in the holiday spirit you should come check this place out but you really should make reservations in advance since it is a very popular place.

If you're looking for a Christmas bar, look no further-- this is a super cute one with tons of Christmas cheer! We had an awesome server named Christy P. She was so accommodating and gave good recs! I loved all the presentation of all the drinks! My favorite was the hot chocolate with baileys. The ornamentini was pretty good but pretty strong on lemon. My friend got the polar espresso which she enjoyed! This bar will certainly put you in the holiday spirit!! Check it out, but make sure you have a reservation!

If you're looking for a fun and not super chaotic Christmas bar I highly recommend this. The staff was super friendly and we were seated very quickly and the drinks were all fantastic. For the $15 ticket off bucket listers I think it's well worth it and it was a great spot to be able to talk with friends and not have to talk over the music or other people.

I came for the Jolly Holly Holiday Bar pop up bar that's happening for Christmas. The place decor is great and its very cozy. With the price of $22 PP ticket you get a holiday theme cocktail. I tried a few cocktails and they were all very festive, tasty and very strong which I really enjoyed. The food is average. We got the fried calamari, fried chicken chunks, guacamole and cheesecake. I highly recommend this place for great pics and drinks. If you want to see videos of my visit https://youtu.be/GWSGWhfdU5k?si=ja-JgTgEquCH3tOd

This place is cute and festive but my experience was nothing short of bizarre so I would not recommend it to anyone. Let's just say you shouldn't make your customers feel unwelcome, especially when your place is half-empty. First off, the hostess needs to learn how to speak to customers. My ticket said I had the table for 90 minutes from 5:00 until 6:30. I arrived around 5:30 because I was stuck in traffic but thought an hour was long enough to eat a burger and grab a drink. She told me that she was "fully booked" so we better hurry up because she couldn't guarantee that I could keep my table past 6:30. Turns out that no one came AT ALL, which you can see from my photo so I'm not sure why you'd want to rush a paying customer out before they even sat down when you know you're not fully booked. LOL Just not a good business move for a place that was not exactly packed for the entirety of my meal. I guess we weren't the right demographic that they typically get but my money is still green so I didn't appreciate the rudeness. The waiter also had no idea what he was doing. We told him we'd have 3 burgers but asked for one of them with no cheese. He confirmed what temp we wanted them cooked but then only served 1 burger. We waited about 10 minutes for the other burgers to arrive but nothing came. When we asked him where they were, he said we only ordered 1. I don't even have words for the poor service. No napkins, no utensils, nor even ketchup for our burgers. As if this isn't weird enough, we saw him in the corner eating coleslaw with his bare hands out of a big tub like he never saw food before. I'm not even sure what to say other than don't waste your time here. The staff seriously needs to be re-trained.

Bought tickets for the holly jolly holiday bar from bucketlisters and did not meet expectation. Ordered the Polar Express Martini and expected it to come out like the picture from the buckerlisters posting but it was different. Would recommend changing the menu to add if a drink is served hot or cold because we ordered a drink and didn't realized it came out hot. The holiday decorations looked kind of cheap. For the price you pay for the ticket/drink and experience, I feel there are better holiday bar options to choose from instead of this.

I attended their Frankenstein-themed event for Halloween and had an absolute blast so I had to come back for their Holly Jolly-themed event. The food is always good, especially their calamari and Mad Morton burger. Their chicken tacos & truffle fries are delicious as well. Hands down the best holiday cocktails I've seen or tasted. The service is always great and the bartenders are the best. I love their ticketed time slots because they really honor them. It's not crowded and everybody has a seat because of their 90-minute reservations. Ticket includes 1 themed cocktail. It's always a vibe!!!! Will attend every event they have!! Ig:Thefunfluencer

Came to Mad Morton for the Holly Jolly pop up through BucketListers and it honestly was such a let down. I was really disappointed, considering the fact that tickets were $25 each. The welcome drink that was included seemed like a nice offering, up until I received mine. I ordered the one that seemed equivalent to an espresso martini and it was so bad. It tasted like rubbing alcohol. It was so bad I had to tell our waiter we didn't like it and I usually never do that. He was actually very sweet and immediately brought me a new one. Unfortunately, even that one was not good either so at that point I just gave up. The area we were seated in was also not the best. It didn't feel like we were at a Christmas themed bar. Specifically our area just felt like a regular bar with some Christmas decorations. I don't recommend the experience. For anyone interested in going, save your $$ because it's not worth it at all.

Found out about the Holly Jolly Holiday themed bar off bucket listers. I reserved a table for two and the tickets came with a cocktail for each of us. I had two drinks and was feeling real nice! We ordered the meatballs, burger, steak sandwich and Brussel sprouts. Everything delicious! I'd come back here not during holiday season also for those Brussel sprouts.

Not too much, not too little, but just right! Me and my colleagues will absolutely be back for happy hour:)

Cute new spot downtown! The service was great and they were playing good music. It has a pretty chill vibe and a younger crowd. We got the artichoke dip to share - while the taste was decent, it was very thin (honestly like a queso). My pesto pasta with chicken was good yet different - it's not a traditional pesto and has a creamier texture with a milder pesto taste. The veggie burger and fries were delicious!I'd recommend coming here for a late dinner / drinks prior to going out!

We stopped by for a couple of drinks because we saw it was decorated with Christmas lights for their holly jolly event. The drinks were a bit pricy, but very cute. The service was quick and attentive.
Be the first to ReplyWe prepaid for a brunch for their "holly jolly".
I think it was a bit overpriced to prepay and it was completely dead the whole time we were there. There was one other table and us the whole time. The food was good, drinks okay. The decor for the seasonal brunch special was super cute! Service was great.
Be the first to ReplyWe went to the Holly Jolly experience 12/18.
The ambiance was cute and festive. Staff were very nice and attentive. The drinks were good however, none of the drinks were in festive drinkware or were garnished...which is advertised in all their pics. And even if you "ran out" of drink ware (but how does that happen in a bar anyway?), a bar should be able to dress up a cocktail...candy cane, pomegranate seeds, dehydrated orange/lime wheels, sprigs of rosemary, cocktail picks with holiday themed designs...sooooo disappointing for the price
Be the first to ReplyBeautifully decorated during the Christmas holiday season!
Beautifully decorated during the Christmas holiday season! The temperature was warm and comfortable inside. I ordered the veggie burger . It was a flattened falafel burger. I did like the taste. I would've preferred beyond burger but not complaining. The fries were crispy and perfectly edible. The steak omelette was worth it. My friend bought it and she enjoyed every bite. The eggs were not that scrambled as she wanted. They still were good. We were disappointed when they didn't bring the drinks in a festive cup. They said they ran out of festive cups. It was a bummer because I feel like people go there to experience the holiday cups. They gave us our drinks in a regular glass. Boo hoo. Drinks were good though. I thought my drink was weak until it kicked in a few minutes later. The brunch experience was good. You get to sit down and have a nice lunch with a drink. The decor is something to experience. Photo ops around the place. You also get a complimentary Santa hat!

Went here for the Christmas pop up bar in November and it was amazing. Totally decked out and worth the trip into the city.
Be the first to ReplyWent for their Holly Jolly Holiday bar.
I don't even have words. Decorations were nothing more then an average restaurant at the holidays. Reservations? I paid the $$$$ to make one because I was afraid it would sell out. Got there and it was quite empty. Menu? So limited that there was not one thing I wanted to eat. No creativity put into this. Nothing special. Save your money. Fly to Minneapolis where they do this party right!
Be the first to ReplyVisited for their Holly Jolly pop up on a Saturday
Visited for their Holly Jolly pop up on a Saturday afternoon and wow, what an experience! My cousin and I reserved for the 3pm slot which there was a line outside only because they were cleaning up the space from the last slot. And yes, it's a timed experience (90 mins) which I love. No waiting for a bartender at the bar. No looking for a seat. Your reservation includes a seat and a holiday cocktail, WIN WIN!Once you walk in you're hit with all the holiday decor! On the ceiling, walls, tables, booths. It's beautiful! Our waitress was an absolute delight. Although she had many tables, she made us feel like we were the only ones. We started off with the included cocktail which you can choose any from the menu. Go with the margarita, you'll thank me later! We also ordered a side of truffle fries which were okay but I was really there for the cocktails and boy did they deliver! After another round of cocktails, all the holiday music and decor, we had a great time. Would definitely come back here again!P.S. Gratuity is included.
Be the first to ReplyGreat overall but inconsistency with the menu.
We came in on a calm weekday night. It wasn't packed or overly busy, which was fine for us.We wanted the octopus- they were sold out.We wanted another couple of items from the menu- they were sold out as well. The food that we did order, yes it was goodBut common. No reason to be out of so many items on the short menu you have on a calm weeknight. And if that's the case, please tell us ahead of time.
