This is dining. A tad pretentious perhaps but extremely attentive. Each dish was unique and exciting. This comes at a cost, so be prepared for the bill. The bread and pear butter with miso reduction might be the best thing I’ve ever eaten; however, the wagyu ribeye was done perfectly in every way. It is sort of addictive. Dessert must be mentioned as sourdough ice cream with charcoal top does not sound appealing but it was remarkably fantastic and I’ll never forget it.

Loved our meal at Hestia! All plates very shareable. The scallops, halibut, and pork chop all amazing. Save room for the sour dough ice cream - different and delicious. Thank you, Paige and Albert for a wonderful evening! We’ll be back.
Be the first to ReplyShould be a Michelin!!! One of the BEST dinners in Austin
Worth every $ and all the hype!!!!! I’m a huge foodie and have tried it all, but this place really impressed me! It’s a little hidden, we didn’t see it from the street, got confused and almost left, because there is a joint restaurant that shares bar space and serves smaller plates and tapas called Kalimotxo. Hestia is on the dressy side, dark interior and centered around the hearth. Their theme is fire and almost everything they make including some of the drinks are prepared or touched by it in some capacity. The halibut is the BEST dish on the menu, dare I say it’s probably the best one I’ve had in my life! It was moist, extremely flavorful, prepared to perfection and fell apart. Everything from the cocktails, wine, starters, and entrees exceeded my expectations, this place is a must and I would definitely return to try their chefs tasting menu, even at $195 per person. One thing to note you can only do it if the entire table participates. Service is excellent! Park in the bank building, they validate

We did the tasting menu and it was amazing. A great variety of courses with foods presented in a different style and texture than what you would traditionally see. Unique and full of flavor. The sourdough ice cream was amazing. Great atmosphere and Five star service all the way!

This restaurant is outstanding! The staff is really pleasant and very solicitous. The food. Oh the food. I wasn’t hungry enough to go with the tasting menu which was fairly priced considering the quality of the food. I opted for their ala carte menu instead. I had the potato/caviar, oysters, kampachi, scallops and the halibut for the main dish. The amount was perfect. It ended up being pricier than the tasting menu but so worth it! Everything was outstanding but the potato/caviar bite, scallops and halibut with caviar were the highlights. The sauce of the halibut was so flavorful I had to slow down my eating to savor every bite. I wish the potato/caviar was bigger. I ordered the sourdough ice cream for dessert upon the recommendation of the host. Sounded different so I was willing to try it out. It was delicious! Something different for sure, not too sweet, almost savory, but just delicious! I highly recommend Hestia when in Austin. Price point is fair for the quality of food. Will have to try the tasting menu next time. Reservations strongly recommended.

Really enjoyed Hestia. They do a premier, signature halibut preparation that is beyond delicious. Baked in their big custom oven. Don’t miss it.

Celebrated my daughter's 19th birthday here on a Friday night. Reservations are very tough to come. by for prime time so be sure to book well in advance. We ate early at 5:30 but didn't really mind. There was a birthday card waiting at the table signed by all the staff which was a very nice touch. We ordered a number of plates to share family style. Each dish came one after the other at a good pace...perhaps could have been slightly more spaced apart to give us a breather after the first four courses. We ordered the oysters, pan de cristal, scallops, beets for appetizers/small plates, chicken entree, pork chop entree and 10 oz wagyu entree. I simply cannot say enough about both the plating and the flavors. Most were perfection. We couldn't even agree on favorites since everything was so special. My husband who doesn't eat oysters, loved them. My daughter tried her first scallop and also gave a thumbs up. The pork chop was really a star. We had an excellent wine (Lillian Syrah 2017) that met exactly the desired profile we had described to Sam the sommelier. He nailed it. My daughter enjoyed the spice cake dessert. Unbelievably enjoyable evening. Staff was attentive and professional. Excellent experience.

Wow is all I can say! From the moment you enter Hestia passing by the stacks of the beautiful scented wood and the kitchen with the fully engaged chefs in front of the roaring fire hearths, you know you are in for something special. The wine list curated by The amazing Allie is not an everyday wine list by any stretch of the imagination. There are wines from all over the world represented on the menu and Allie seems to know every one of them! Fancy a nice white from Santorini..it’s there. How about a full bodied red from Lebanon. Yup it’s there too. Just let your taste buds take you on a journey! The service at Hestia is extremely professional and refined. Not intrusive at all but just enough to make sure every part of the meal is up to your expectations. We were lucky enough to have Jackson and he guided us expertly through the menu never hesitating when he made a recommendation. We chose not to do red meat as we had been to a local steak house the night before so we focused on the fish and the seafood. Let me first say that everything was amazing but our standouts were the morel custard(don’t see that every day do you?) the scallops(melt in your mouth) and finally the halibut which was pure heaven .Don’t leave this restaurant without trying the halibut. That’s my one piece of advice. We can’t wait to return the next time we are in Austin. Big thanks to the whole team who made our evening truly exceptional and unforgettable
Be the first to ReplyExpensive for the quality
My husband and I shared 5 plates, drank great wine and spent $500 for the two of us. Our first course was a mushroom custard, which was tasty, but it was difficult to find the custard. Next was "2 scallops". It actually was one scallops sliced in half to look like two. We knew this because it was only seared on one side (our waiter told us it was seared on both), and the cost was $28. The halibut was chewy, not flaky and smothered in sauce, probably to mask the non-freshness of the fish. Finally the wagu ($62) was full of gristle and tough to eat. I will say the wines were excellent. There are a lot of great restaurants in Austin. The atmosphere and the service at Hestia were great, but the price is shocking.

Be the first to ReplyChef’s Table for the Win
We came here for my birthday celebration and were seated at the Chef’s Table - it was so cool to watch the kitchen! We had the bread service, scallops, halibut, wagyu steak, and sourdough ice cream. All was so amazing and beautiful!

This place has the most amazing food! We were in Austin, visiting friends, and they suggested we all go there for dinner. They had made a reservation, so we were seated right away. We had an appetizer that was a scallop served in a garlicy broth inside a seashell. It was probably one of the best scallops that I had ever eaten. So much flavor packed in a small shell! My husband ordered the chicken while I had the 6oz Wagyu. It was so tender, I could cut it with my fork. It was incredible! Love this place and can't wait to go back!

A vegetarian’s dream. The salsify that defies explanation will make you want to make a reservation for another meal before you leave. The lion’s mane mushroom was better than any mushroom I’ve had anywhere else. We are so glad to have found Hestia- Bravo to the chef!

Excellent service and food. Interesting menu that was executed artfully. We ordered several dishes and all were great. The halibut was particularly well liked by our group. Do not skip dessert-the sorbet and s’mores dishes were wonderful!
Be the first to ReplyAmazing culinary adventure!
Amazing culinary adventure! My wife and I were in Austin for a game and based on her + experience @ Emmer & Rye I decided to give Hestia a try. We were blown away by the inventive, playful ways in which heat, smoke and flame could be integrated into our 12 course tasting meal. Most amazing was the homage to steak tartare by simply smoke infusing cuts of Wagyu. Mouthfeel was fantastic! I also enjoyed the smoked Halibut that gave a pleasant earthiness to the delicate fish. Closing out w/an amazingly adult S’mores was a perfect ending. The service was impeccable, shout out to Rachel for guiding us threw a remarkable evening!

Celebrating our 11th anniversary, my wife and I wanted something special. We definitely got that with a little last minute searching. The prix fixe was a clue that we were stumbling onto something different than most Texas restaurants. My wife stuck to cocktails, and I ordered the pairing. The pairings seemed competent, but they had a particularly standout Tempranillo from Rioja for the more savory, meaty courses. One of the earlier courses from Nopales cactus was really creative and refreshing. My wife kept talking about the mushrooms paired with Waygu steak course. Service from Rachel was excellent, and she was super pleasant and knowledgeable. All the staff were great really. All in all, the only better meals I’ve had were all from 3 Star Michelin restaurants costing triple and quadruple the price.
