A fine neighbourhood restaurant
Had the pleasure of returning to Ham after more than three years. Glad to say that the quality of the dishes remains excellent - visually appealing with superb ingredients. We had the soup, blood orange and burrata starter, a pasta and pork schnitzel. Modern British in the broadest sense of the word. Bit of a shame to see the restaurant only half full for Thursday lunch. But on receiving the bill I think I understand why. It came to £70. That’s more than what you’d pay for an early dinner set. Perhaps Ham could introduce a lunch deal. Next time I’ll come for brunch (served until 11.45 am) or for an early dinner.
Be the first to ReplyVery hard to beat the early evening menu
The early dinner was £35 for three courses (all from the main menu, no corner cutting) and two glasses of wine. Very, very difficult to find a better sit-down deal than that inside the M25 for the quality of cooking we're looking at here. The aubergine starter with crispy shallots might have been the best aubergine I've ever had, generous portion too. All of my dishes were vegetarian and I felt full, but there were meat options too. I think gluten free options were possible for each course too. I was a solo diner, but there were plenty of dates and small groups dining here too. It would definitely suit a night with a partner or friends, it has a lovely smart-casual vibe.
Be the first to Replythe perfect summer lunch
My first time here, and one definitely to be repeated. An perfect late spring vibe in a stylish, friendly and all embracing restaurant, that feels young and vibrant, rather than bourgeois, despite the post code. And more importantly the set lunch is excellent; generous portions of high quality ingredientes prepared with skill and oozing flavours to savour, and served by friendly, but not intrusive, waitresses. Plus my husband loved his cocktail too. ¡Thank you very much! we had an ace time, and I´m now addicted to charred spring greens. love Catherine
Be the first to ReplyMediocre food, no choice, bored staff
Had lunch here, there were only two main choices and they had run out of one. The meat was undercooked - it was raw but we were told it was fashionable! You be the judge. Food was ok but not anything like Michelin level. Staff were bored and ignored us even though the place was only a quarter full.
Be the first to ReplyMy first visit to HAM restaurant in West Hampstead room for improvement
Yesterday it was our first visit to Ham.
I had booked earlier on the same day.
We were put at a table at the back by the staff customers coat rack and in view of the toilet.
I like seasonal menu but this seasonal menu had not a soup.
Please have a soup in winter!
The food was delicious although the hake was verging on plain.
Portions a tiny bit on the small side for the price.
Please make your own bread.
Serve the butter with a butter knife.
2 people two small butter dishes.
Please give us real napkins at least at dinner time.
I came to have a treat I did not wantto think I came to a fast food restaurant.
The service was polite but not particularly warming.
On leaving we were not acknowledged.
The staff was very very very casual clothing..too casual I observed a waitress playing with her plaited hair....not a good impression.
The table was not laid properly .Please put all the required cutlery to start with and take away the cutlery which is not needed. Don t do it-yourself the other way round!
Please come and ask if we want pepper or salt.
As for pudding chice add a fruit based one especially apple in winter.
Music is a big turn off for me..perhaps you can turn it off in the evening?
Saying all this I would like to give it a second chance and try it againg soon.I hope you will be able to take on board the suggestions.
Best Dining Room in West Hampstead
Prettiest restaurant in West End Lane.
Light & airy with super front of house service.
Only one drawback, they close their kitchen at 2.30 & reopen at 6.
Otherwise it is faultless
Recommended.
Inspirational food - a perfecct experience
We had an exceptional three course meal in a lovely ambience.
The food is inspirational and truly well executed. The service was very friendly and attentive. The great thing is that it's a perfect experience. Everything hands together : the menu, the quality of the food, the comfortable chairs, the lighting and the well selected non intrusive music. Thank you very much for the enjoyable evening.
Lovely meals
Our first visit to Ham as we staying overnight in the area. We weren't disappointed.
We ordered from the early evening set menu and were very impressed by the quality of the 3 courses. Some great flavour combinations.
Nice table wine too.
Excellent service and knowledge from the gentleman looking after us.
Many thanks for an enjoyable meal
Good food, ridiculously expensive
This was the second time I have been to Ham. I went first for brunch and this time for dinner. While the food was nice throughout, prices were ridiculous. We were recommended potatoes to go with the main as the mains are too light by themselves. We paid 6 pounds for some chips. A restaurant of this standing could also offer bread which is also horrendously expensive for 3 slices of bread. I will come back for brunch or the early dinner deal but otherwise the whole experience was not generous. The restaurant is however gorgeous and staff are attentive.
Be the first to ReplyGenuine food, excellent service throughout
Sunday brunch - eggs florentine with avocado spread instead of spinach. Absolutely delicious. Some of the most genuine food quality and preparation I've had in years in London.
Exceptional service - this is high-end brunching and eating out at reasonable prices.
Once you try them, you'll become a regular.
First visit to Ham
Ham is very easy to reach, just a few mins from the station. The atmosphere is cool, relaxed and genuine. The food is exceptional and the service was brilliant. I would recommend the place to anyone

Excellent breakfast, great value for money, and a very informal relaxed atmosphere. Staff were very friendly and inviting.
Be the first to ReplyBest local restaurant in NW London
We visited Hām on a Saturday night. The food and service were both brilliant. They currently offer a deal of 2 staffers, 2 mains, 2 desserts and a bottle of Tempranillo for £65 which is great value. Every dish had so much depth and variety of flavour. There are some seriously talented chefs working in the kitchen and I’m excited to go back. Strongly recommend the crab, lamb and mango dishes
