Delicious meal and great atmosphere! Had the best
Delicious meal and great atmosphere! Had the best butternut squash soup of my life here! The pizza was also fabulous. The decor and ambiance is wonderful. Great for a date night. Highly recommend a visit!
Be the first to ReplyMy friends and I visited Gusto last weekend.
We had luckily booked in advance, as the restaurant was full. Service was a bit slow to begin with but soon picked up. We ordered a bottle of wine and it was chilled next to our table. We had starters and main courses. We were seated by the kitchen which was a bit noisy at times. I ordered the meatballs in a tomato sauce to start. The portion size was generous and there was plenty of sauce. I found the dish to be quite average. There wasn't a huge amount of flavor to them but they were fine. I would note that the dish they came in was very hot, which I found out then I touched it to turn it around! I wasn't warned of that. My friends shared a cheese and meat board which they very much enjoyed. For our main dishes I ordered the mushroom risotto with pancetta. My friends ordered the prawn linguine and the haddock risotto. My friend that had the prawn pasta dish was raving about it, and was still talking about it the next day! I was very disappointed with my risotto. The presentation was terrible and considering it was a mushroom dish, there was more pancetta than mushroom! It was also quite dry as opposed to creamy like a risotto should be. I would not recommend the dish. The restaurant had a nice vibe and the decor was really nice for a Saturday night, but for me the food wasn't quite up there for me.

The decor and ambience is really romantic and intimate. The staff were very friendly and quick to serve. Everything was on point. The wine, the cocktails at the bar, the starters and the mains. Even the dessert was delicious. Their menu is seasonal bear in mind so some of your favourites might not be there if you return which I found out to my disappointment! These guys are a chain and I haven't found any difference in quality between them. I would go here again and I would also recommend it to family and friends.

Part of 11 were forced to have the Christmas menu which consisted of 4 starters \ mains \ deserts. They said as we were more than 10 people we had to chose from the limited Christmas menu - this is a near empty restaurant. I did enquire that if 6 tables of 2 turned in in the next 10 mins would they make them all chose the Christmas menu too ? Anyhow onto the food - the starter of ham terrine was OK - far to uniform to be homemade - suspect its from brake brothers or similar. The main - I had the Beef which to be fair was good - not much of it but tasty all the same. Most of the rest of the table had the turkey which by everyone's reckoning was rubbish. Turkey roll ( kid you not) - a disc of stuffing (Iceland style) a cocktail sausage ( not bacon wrapped either ) and some accompanying veggies. Deserts were hit and miss - the cheesecake was not homemade and tasted like they had cut it on a board used to prepare fennel - the crumble dish did look homemade and to be fair tasted ok. The above food was £35.00 per head - with drinks £550 - not a good experience and one I wont be repeating any time soon. The saving grace and the 2 stars awarded are the service received from our waiter who we all agreed couldn't have been nicer - he got a nice £50 in his pocket for his trouble. never again

Amazing place, such a change from it's previous life as a bar that did standard food. It now has exquisite wines, incredibly high quality food and a reasonable price tag. The food was so good I had a three course meal with no regrets; Mussels, Duck, Sides, Bombolini and Wine for a bargain £35, with tip! A must visit but maybe keep it for special occasions (like my birthday) :)
