E X C E L L E N T ! One of my FAVORITES, foodies and Porguguese LOVE this place for DECADES
Ignore the few bad reviews, what world do these people live in. This place is great, huge following, super popular with foodies and Portuguese. I've been eating here for decades and it is ALWAYS 100% consistent. Great value for the prices. On weekends try the SUCKLING PIG, it's to die for. If you order steak, make sure you specify your preference: Rare to .... The spare ribs and chicken are also excellent, as is the shrimp and calamari. Service is always excellent. Be prepared for a wait on prime time evenings... as is always the case with excellent restaurants.
Be the first to ReplyGREAT FOOD - but doesn't do anything new
There are now three Rodizios in the area. This was my first time at Bairrada because my dinner date wanted to try something new. NORMALLY we'd have gone to FOGO DE CHAO in Glen Cove or CHURRASQUERIA CARVALHOS in Bellmore. Bairrada is a small restaurant than Carvalhos or Fogo and with social distancing in effect, it's effectively smaller than normal. There were about 15 tables spaced out appropriately. There is a parking lot in the back, as well as street and residential parking. Bairrada's cost is $47 which places it BETWEEN the least expensive: Carvalhos ($30 for the Rodizio) and the most expensive Fogo ($60 for the Rodizio). There is no in between unless you order ala carte. The thing that annoys me most about these restaurants is they refuse to offer a 2 for $100 dinner date meal. Believe me, it has nothing to do with the money...the bill was $160 after we added desert and coffee and we easily afford it. My problem is the psychology of not being able to simply order a "meal for 2" or "meal for 3" when the amount of sides brought out is pretty much the same regardless how many people sit at the table. FOGO de CHAO has a great salad bar option, for example, which recently started offering some meat which means you could theoretically have a super healthy dinner for just $20 as an option to filling up on meat. Bairrada's Food was EXCELLENT. Nothing really "new" compared to the other rodizios: beef, pork, chicken, steak, bacon wrapped pork, etc. My mother complained of saltiness at FOGO but I doubt she'd complain here. I rank Bairrada's food at about equal to Carvalhos. They even have the same milk bread plantains, that taste so perfect I could eat plantains no other way. Their Desert case allows you to see all their options. Very beautiful and tasty desert creations. We went for a slice of Tres Leches and Chocolate Ice Cream (My date insists Uncle Guiseppe's Tres Leches was the best of all, but she enjoyed this - as did I - and I'm not a fan of Tres Leches). My only issue with the restaurant was due to its size. They do have a bar, but it's a small area with a few couches. Fogo is large enough to have a "lounge" with couches, dinner tables and plenty of space. The restaurant is a bit on the small side which means it gets crowded quickly on key dates. Overall, I give the restaurant 4/5. I give Fogo and Carvalhos the same 4/5. If they want to know what they need to do to get a 5 from me: #1 Make a "meal for 2" price and #2 include a small desert with the meal. I don't think those ideas are unreasonable.

Be the first to ReplyBAIRRADA TAKE OUT
Visited Bairrada dining in for many years and it was wonderful ! Our go to place! Ordered take out for the first time last night. A whole chicken was $19 with 2 sides - ordered 2 chickens. The pieces were so small we thought there must have to be another container with the other chicken in it. The chicken leg was no bigger than your finger. The chicken breast was very dry and underseasoned. The black beans were one third liquid. The salad dressing that comes with the salad, which we always loved, was watery oil. It went down the drain and we used Wishbone Italian. The rice was in a cardboard container so any moistness of the rice was absorbed by the cardboard. I was quoted a price over the phone when ordering and was charged $12 more when picking up. I ordered only one salad, and they gave me two and weren't nice about it when I pointed this out to them. Something has changed and not for the better ! Don't know if we will even go to eat at the restaurant anymore. Very disappointed.

Wife and I came upon this restaurant as we were walking down the block and since it was past our usual lunch time and we were both hungry we decided to try it. It turned out to be a good decision. It was 2 o'clock in the afternoon and the place was packed (a good sign) but there was a table for two available and we were immediately seated. Upon looking at the menu our first thoughts were that it looked pricey, but we figured we are here so let's give it a try anyway. We were happy that we did. We ordered a salad as an appetizer and it was large enough for the two of us to share. It came with a light house dressing that was very good. For your main course I ordered the lamb chops, which were delicious, and my wife enjoyed a rice and seafood dish which was filled with lobster, crabs, jumbo shrimps, clams and mussels. It was like a special payaya. I enjoyed a glass of malbec with my meal which was reasonably priced at $9.50, and while we were too stuffed for dessert be each had coffee. I had Brazillian coffee which was espresso mixed with coffee liquor, brandy, and anisette. My wife had a cappuccino which was perfectly made. All in all a great meal. and wife portion was so large that she took some home with her and had two more meals with it.
Be the first to ReplyNOT UNIQUE - AVERAGE FOOD/SERVICE
The Hostess was very pleasant and accommodating. Once seated, a Salad & Bread were dropped at our table. No greetings, no smiles. Salad was bland & only the butt ends of the tomatoes were included. Bread is good, but cold. Our service was aloof & inattentive. No smiles, no greeting, nothing to make customers feel welcome. Completely filled on a Wednesday night. Screaming children which parents evidently think is cute; they clapped as their stupid disruptive kids screamed. We don't care to spend $200.00 on dinner & drinks when families can't mind their kids. Ordered the Rodizio. Never saw our server after that. The meat runners have zero customer service skills. Clearly, they do not want to be there. Not one smile or any kind of interaction. They speak low and fast so you don't even know what they are serving you. Just drop the meat on your plate and run away, in fear you might ask them a question. Sides are mediocre at best. Fries & Chips both soggy-inedible. Maybe left over. Meats are fine, but have had better.. It's sausage, chicken, turkey, a beef, pork, beef ribs & a prime rib or something. Could not get a smile from our waiter or from the servers, no matter how many times we said please and thank you. The restaurant works like a factory and the service is lazy at best, basically non existent. Finally saw our waiter again at the end of dinner, to ask us about desert and then the check. Probably will not dine there again. Better dining options & service elsewhere on LI.
Be the first to ReplyPrices on the menu
Yesterday, we went to the restaurant and the menu given to us at the table quoted a price $10.00 less than what we were charged. I didn't notice the higher price until I reviewed the bill when we got home. When I called to ask the price, I was asked if I wanted the price for eating in the restaurant. When I said yes, I was given the higher price. I asked why, if we are seated at a table in the restaurant, we are given a menu that only contains take-out prices. This is extremely deceptive. We hadn't eaten there in a while, and I can say, in addition to the "bait and switch" price, we ordered two chickens that were not very good, very small and not cut up properly which made it hard to serve ourselves. They used to do better.
Be the first to ReplySalt, salt and more salt
Went with family to try their all you can eat. Saw reviews raving about this place. Four of us got the all you can eat. The others got steak dinners. There was way too much salt. So much salt that I couldn’t tell the difference in meats cause my tastebuds were shot. Maybe it was a bad day for the chef. They come around a with skewers of different meats which was nice. Some meats were a little too fatty. But if you get a bad piece you can always get another. They bring rice, fries and some other sides family style. I stopped eating not because I was full but because I couldn’t taste the food anymore due to the abundance of salt. Next time I’ll try the other Churrasqueira in Mineola.
