Grünauer Kansas City Reviews from The Last Year
Food with a fabulous difference !!
Grünauer was rated highly before we went so that was half the reason we booked. Lovely setting and great atmosphere with staff that complimented this in every way. So the menu is varied and looks traditional but I’m no expert. We all ordered different things and the service was efficient without feeling rushed. Our food came out and was presented well. Everyone tucked in and we were all quiet as eating was our pleasure and always a good sign with food. The food was excellent. My only observation is that my side order of roasted cauliflower was way too large and could have fed all three of us at the table (see photo). Otherwise I wouldn’t hesitate to return.
Best German (Austrian) Restaurant I have ever visited in the US.
Grünauer‘s was the best German (Austrian) restaurant I have eaten at in the US, bar none, and I love German food! Everything was great, from decor, to service (Alma was wonderful), food delicious, and great selection of draft beers. We went here on a recommendation from a clerk at WWI Museum, and she was spot on. The food was served with class and garnished very nicely. We were not hurried at all. We all overate, but it was worth it.
Super!
Amazing. Austrian restaurant is not on everyones radar when traveling to KC, but this is not to be missed. Make a reservation, don't think twice. Delicious, authentic dishes, prepared with care and served in a beautiful setting. Highly recommend when in Kansas City. Top restaurant on our Midwest multiday roadtrip.
Nice different place to try
Really enjoyed this place. Different folks ordered different things and we liked everything we shared. Right next to union station so handy
Excellent Austrian/German food in KC!
Born and raised in Germany, lived in Wiesbaden over the past few years, while having traveled all over Germany/Austria, I can honestly say this is a faithful representation of the food from that region. The Schnitzel was divine, the beer selection was excellent, the service was amazing and my personal favorite Käsespätzle was some of the best I have ever had. Grünauer gave me and my wife some amazing nostalgia of our other home. Thank you to the wonderful folks at this Gem of a Restaurant! We will be back soon!
MY LAST VIST!!! FOR REAL THIS TIME!!!
Great atmosphere and very pleasant server. This was my forth visit in a three year period and My Last because my meal wad horrible!! My reason for returning is that I like to give people and places a lot of rope to hang themselves but should've ended after the second time just pre-pandemic. This visit, I ordered the Krustenbraten. It was beyond crispy coating and not in a good way. The coating was so hard I believe I cracked my molar! Another root canal coming for me for sure. The beer sauce under it was disgustingly bitter. I thought the apple strudel would make me feel a little better but no. What they did was microwave some probably frozen and prepackaged strudel. It turned out to be a soggy mass of wet dough and over tart soggy apples with a way too big scoop of whipped cream. Speaking of Soggy! That so-called potato dumpling was a softball size of soggy dough rolled in some kind of bread crumbs. It was utterly disgusting! The Manhattan Clam chowder was just ok but I am done with this restaurant. A waste of money and I cannot recommend it, ever!!!!!
As good as ever
Back for our first time since Covid. The food is still good and the setting is attractive and comfortable. We went two days before Christmas and the crowd was almost all families rather than the usual couples. My Bauernschmaus (smoked pork loin, grilled pork belly & bauernwurst) was good and quite reasonable for a nice restaurant at $28. The Blake's Imperial Hard Cider went well with the meal. A nice benefit is that they participate in the Idine program so I earned 5 extra frequent flyer miles per dollar on the meal.
The Best Food Around!
My son and I chose Grunauer for Christmas Eve dinner! Wow! We were impressed from the appetizers to desserts! Even the Mulled Wine was fantastic! The sausages were incredible - flavor and texture! The sorbet tasted like fresh fruit! And homemade vanilla ice cream! Sensational!
Nice Place to Eat
Good German fare at a reasonable price. We had a business dinner and was not sure what to expect but were pleasantly surprised. Service was quick and attentive and the food was tasty. The menu had some unusual choices but nothing that would hinder you from ordering. A good experience overall.
Wonderful authentic food
We had dinner at Grünaur this evening, and the quality of the food and service was delightful. We started by sharing the "wurst" appetizer, consisting of two house-made sausages, fresh pickle salad, killer horseradish mustard and a pretzel. I had Schwammerlgulasch, which is easier to eat than to say, mushroom stew with a bread dumpling. Two of us had the delicious Wienerschnitzel, which was available in the traditional pork, chicken or mushroom. The fourth had the Gulasch with Spätzle - all perfect. The service was attentive and helpful. I won't even discuss the apple strudel with whipped cream.

That's what AT sponsorships are for - and you are only paying 25% in the first year and then less in year two and three.
I beliebe @EternalAnt36 was sponsored by @PerceptiveWash44 and is now doing $25k/mo.
You can write on the top sellers profiles (type 'Top 10' in the searchbar) and then tap request sponsorship button after you found the guy or gal like to work with!
