Gellions Bar Inverness Reviews from The Last Year
I wouldn't bother , o.k. if you're only on a visit.
Been my go to pub for 50 years , gone downhill rapidly since it became company owned . Toilets are an experience to be missed if you can . Staff are rude , never the same , have to stand on your head for them to notice you. Short changed and wrong drinks given with no redress as there's never a manager to speak to . Music is awful these days with the exception of one or two acts. Regulars that we used to get the craic with no longer go in now . Sad to see the changes .
Bulling at the doors
The worst night ever....we were bullied by security at the door...absolutely shocking....the manner of those 2 guys was unacceptable ,rude and they were evidently on some substances
Brilliant Bar
We were visiting friends and family. We had an amazing time in this pub, danced our socks off. Everyone was really friendly.
Avoid this place.
Very aggressive door staff who want to bully people to fuel their ego. Avoid at all costs as there are plenty of other pubs with a more welcoming atmosphere.
The life and soul of the Inverness party!
Gellions is the life and soul of the Inverness party. Live music 7 nights a week, lively clientelle, manic during big rugby matches. Fine selection of beers.
Great atmosphere
Went specifically for the traditional music and the pub didn't disappoint. Great lively atmosphere, with pleasant staff, and a good selection of drinks. Easy to find too. We will be back.
This tiny pub was the best place for music that we can find
This tiny pub was the best place for music that we can find on a Sunday night. It was very crowded when the small two person band was playing. The crowd was a mix of locals and tourists. Everyone seemed to be having fun. It could be a little challenging to get a drink at a crowded bar but the bartender was friendly. It was a good spot to kill an hour while listening to some music.
The Oldest, Coolest Pub In Inverness
We were staying in nearby Dingwall, and after a day travelling from Loch Ness to the Battlefield Of Culloden - we decided to go visit Inverness and find somewhere to have a drink and possibly a bite to eat. And because we always search for the oldest pub in a city we naturally had to visit Gellions Bar. Founded in 1841 and named after the woman who had the original licence - this is a cool, quaint little pub that doesn't take itself too seriously. We were hoping to get something to eat, but the two girls working the bar said they didn't have any food (something that we had come to expect from most pubs in England and Scotland) but recommended another place not too far away. We decided to stay for a pint anyway and get to know a little bit more about this pub and Inverness. Turns out that they have music here every night starting at 9:30 Monday to Friday, and on Saturdays and Sundays at 5:00 there is a Ceilidh, featuring music from a local Scottish folk band called Schiehallion. Right on Bridge Street - its hard to miss - so check them out, have a pint and if you're there at the right time you can take in some great tunes!
Our tour guide recommended this pub
We were on a day visit from our cruise and the tour guide recommended this place as a great one to go to for a pint. He was right!

Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.

Can come from a lot of places, people who don't want to get charged their cancellation fee or people who just have them and cant go.

almost all restaurants aren't affiliated with AT and I'm guessing it's mostly people wanting to not pay cancellation fees.
