Perfect tour guide
We had only one day to see everything in San Francisco. Jesse is very friendly, knows the city and surrounding area perfectly, and provided us with a great tour. He allowed us plenty of time to take photos, eat, and enjoy the area - especially Muir Woods. We had an itinerary in mind, and Jesse completed that and more.

What an enjoyable day with friend in town Jesse! He picked our family of 4 from our hotel in the Fishermans wharf area and we saw everything we could have wanted to see that day! We drove Lombard street, through China Town, Presidio Heights, several neighborhoods with amazing homes, the painted ladies, over golden gate bridge, quick lunch in Sausalito, Muir Woods, Golden Gate Bridge view, Golden Gate Park. We received great information about the city and sites. A great day!

We had the greatest tour/day touring Muir Woods, and Napa Valley wineries. Our guide, Jesse, was so knowledgeable on the area, about the history of everything that we saw, or generally anything that we drove past. He has a great personality and was a very safe driver. He was prompt in corresponding via email with us, prior to the trip, and personally found wineries that he knew that we would love. He nailed it! It was a trip of a lifetime, and Jesse gets an A+ from start to finish. It’s a must do, find Jesse, and you will truly enjoy a great day too!

Dear Jesse, Thanks very much for sharing our day in San Francisco with us - the 8 hours that we spent together were not only informative and interesting, but also full of warmth and fun. Thanks for sharing your vast knowledge of a lovely city - it's very clear how much you love San Fransisco. We appreciated the thought you had put into preparing our trip and your suggestions for what we would like to see

We spent a wonderful day touring the Muir Woods followed by multiple stops in the Sonoma and Napa area. Jesse is truly like touring with a friend in town. Jesse utilizes his amazing local knowledge to share this beautiful region with clients. We could not possibly have covered a fraction of the sites, vineyards, and communities by touring on our own. Jesse tailored every minute of the day to our family! Even after numerous stops throughout the day, Jesse went above and beyond to squeeze in a couple of extra sites back in the city before dropping us at a restaurant just in time for our dinner reservations! A Friend in Town tour is a great value for an awesome day.

We spent a day with Jesse touring Marin county around Tiburon and Sausalito. He was very informative and very accommodating, we saw the Muir Woods and other scenic sites. Jesse knew a lot about this area and the entire San Francisco Bay and shared that information in a most enjoyable experience:)

We did the wine after redwoods tour. Jesse picked us up promptly at our hotel, and we made our way to Muir Woods. Jesse is so informative and is full of historical facts the entire time to & from our destinations. We got to spend an hour strolling Muir Woods, then we made our way into Sonoma. We opted for a quick lunch, and Jesse suggested a cute little gourmet sandwich shop. It was very good! We had an amazing day at several wineries, driving through Napa, Sonoma, Glen Ellen, St. Helena, Yountville, Calistoga, etc! We even got to ride through the mountains from Sonoma to Napa during our trip. We ended up extending our time to get a third winery in, and Jesse accommodated us perfectly! I would 100% take another tour with him the next time we are in the area!

I had only one day to spend in the Bay Area, so my goal was to see as much as possible. My tour with Jesse W. of A Friend in Town Tours helped me accomplish that! Jesse was incredibly knowledgeable and organized as I toured Muir Woods and wineries in Sonoma and Napa. He allowed me to see much more than I could have had I rented a car/driven myself or had I gone on a “big bus” tour. My only regret is that I was not able to spend more time touring the area with Jesse as my guide.

I'm a divorced dad and took my three teenage children to San Francisco for Spring Break. After searching the web for a month to find tours, I stumbled upon "A Friend in Town's" website. After e-mail exchanges and telephone talks, I booked Jesse's "Everybody's Favorite City Tour." We spent an entire day with Jesse and visited almost every site on my children's list. Jesse is a true expert on the city and surrounding areas. For a family of four, we spent less and got to see more than if I would've booked individual tours with the big tour companies. Thank you Jesse for a truly wonderful day!

If you're looking for more than your quick bus trip to Napa and would like to know the area's history, A Friend in Town is perfect for the occasion. They create a customized schedule just for you depending on your tastes, preferences, and number of stops you would like. They are also extremely flexible on when they pick you up, and what you'd like to do for the day. We decided we wanted a heavy breakfast that morning, and we only had to call and tell Jesse when we would be ready. Jesse has a vast knowledge of San Francisco and Napa, and his love for the city and surrounding area shows through. Another positive with a Friend in Town is that you get to spend more time in Napa than you would a bus tour. However, if you're only looking to get sloshed in Napa and don't want a true tour, I would recommend getting a hotel instead of booking any sort of tour.
