Had a great time in that coffee place! Great coffee, great food with just the right touch of French atmosphere. I recommend going in the morning to enjoy the terrace and the view. I will definitely go back as soon as I am in Australia.

You can't normally be both overpriced and do bland coffee, but luckily for them the setting of this place is fantastic. This was the closest coffee shop to my house but we rarely went. Always went in with high hopes this would be our local, but they never converted us. Couldn't comment on the food.

I stopped here for a bite and coffee with my toddler, before heading to the Taronga Zoo, and we loved it! There is a large shaded alfresco area with water views and it is well set back from the road making it great for kids. I had a baguette (authentic flavour and wonderfully crunchy) and a coffee (good quality, cute latte art). Also, the mostly french staff add a 'je ne sais quoi' to the ambience!All-in-all: a great cafe with great vibes - will definitely be back when I'm next in Sydney!

The outdoor cafe is a great idea except when they have a clear roof as the day was 35c and it seemed like 50c. I watched the other patrons move from table to table trying to find a cooler spot. Having said all that the location is great. We ordered ice coffees which were quite tasty with a couple of mini lemon tarts. The tarts were only average,
Be the first to ReplyExcellent spot for lunch or afternoon tea on a sunny day.
There's not that many outdoor cafes around on the North Shore that don't look out onto a busy road, so we keep on going back to Frenchy's. It's wonderful on a sunny winters afternoon to get a sheltered spot in the sun and have tea or coffee, or maybe a glass of wine (plus a pastry - no alcohol orders without food). It's also a plus that they cater for dogs, either at one of the outer tables or in the "dog parking" area. I've also been for lunch a few times. I don't agree with the reviews below - the quiche or pies with salad, or maybe a platter, are simple but tasty and good value.

Sorry Frenchies you are in a beautiful spot but need to lift the food game. There isn't a lot of choice on the menu and when you order it is very average. French is usually scrumptious...

This is a lovely little french bistro on the edge of the walk from Chowder Bay to Balmoral Beach. They offer quite a large range of French breakfast and lunch food such as baguettes and tarts. My favorites on a warm Saturday is their signature salad with capers and apple or the chicken and leak pot pie. Their coffee as also great. There is limited indoor seating so make sure you are either rugged up or it is a nice day. Parking can also be a hassle but if you just park on middle head road you won't have any trouble. All of the staff are french which is really cute. So bon appetite!

The food was VERY average. My $8 or $9 (cant remember) chicken salad sandwich on a baguette was TINY and pretty bland. It came with NOTHING on the side. The location is nice, hence the 2 stars but I wouldnt ever go back for anthing more than a cofee. There are way too many other, better places in the area.
Be the first to ReplyAs per the other review, great location and views.
Unfortunately the food is rather expensive for the quality. The pleasantness of ordering staff would see them getting fired from fast food chains.

The location is excellent, the ambience is excellent but the food leaves a little bit to be desired. This place could be so much more than it is right now. I understand what they are trying to do but with some minor modification they could be excellent.I had the Cassoulet with Sausage and Poached egg for breakfast and it was a tin of baked beans heated with sausage in it and a poached egg on top....quite disappointing as a cassoulet is something completely different for me. The bacon was also a bit underdone for my liking and a greasy. I would go back here but given the choice I would pick Burnt Orange just a few meters down the road.
