Be the first to ReplyExceptional Experience
We are an adult family of 4 from the US. This proper tea experience was wonderful. Yes, expensive, but all prices are disclosed. We sat in the back room where it was quieter. Thank you! We were also fortunate enough to have been served by Servi and Daniel. Servi is a lovely woman who made sure our son's Celiac food requests were honored. Both she and Daniel were conversational and kind. Thanks for making our time in London one to remember.

This place is like an attraction with things to buy. Extremely elegant. The service is very good and friendly. They have several restaurants and a formal afternoon tea that require a well in advance reservation. However, the Parlour is more casual and easier to get in if you want tea and scones. We ordered Homemade Duo of Scones with Strawberry Preserve and Clotted Cream 4.5/5, dark hot cocoa 5/5, black tea 5/5, latte 5/5, and iced latte 4/5.
Be the first to ReplyAfterwards Tea 60th birthday celebration
Charged ยฃ11.35 EXTRA each of a party of 12 ladies celebrating a 60th birthday when we all expected to pay the price of ยฃ75 each.We were told the extra was for 3 bottles of water and service charge so in all amongst 12 of us we had to pay an extra ยฃ136.20!! Exploitation. We did not even get a choice to pay or not to pay the service charge ??? To be honest even at ยฃ75 not worth it- for tiny sandwiches cakes and tea! Waitress was also abrupt when we questioned the bill??
Be the first to ReplyExcellent quality takeaway sandwich
We came to the fabulous food hall for banana jam and a jar of chutney when we decided to buy a sandwich from the sandwich bar downstairs. It was brie and maple cooked apple with walnuts on sourdough. It was a substantial sandwich and at ยฃ8 I thought the price was perfectly justified for the quality. We ate it in the nearby churchyard off Piccadilly.

Fortnum and Mason is an exclusive store in Picadilly, Central London. It is quite a grand store and you can get some fancy gifts to take home to people. There is a cafe on the first floor if you want to chill out. If you are looking for prices to be comparable with Lidl, Aldi or Tesco you will be disappointed ;)
Be the first to ReplySmall scones!
Stopped for tea and scones after an afternoon of shopping and was a little disappointed at how much the scones have shrunk in size over the last couple of years. That said, the tea was tasty - two cups per pot- and the service from Gessica was faultless.
Be the first to ReplyEnjoyable Savory Afternoon Tea
Walking into Fortnum & Mason leaves an impression. We enjoyed shopping for tasty treats & gifts before our afternoon tea seating. The tea salon was pretty and the greeting when checking in was friendly. Service to place our order was a bit slow, but the savory afternoon tea menu was tasty. Unlikely weโd go again as it was a bit pricey, but it was enjoyable and memorable.

This is a lovely place to rest your feet and have a delicious snack. I always get the Welsh rarebit and am never disappointed.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious tea time experience
Tea time was incredible. Delicious. Eve That was on the food tower from the many sandwiches, the scones with the lemon curd, unbelievable, the desserts and cakes so good.
Be the first to ReplyFantastic place to have tea.
We had tea here in the Jubilee Room on Jubilee day. It really exceeded our expectations. So much fun! All of the food was fantastic. Service is excellent. Beautiful room. Special but not stuffy. I highly recommend it. Also a great place to shop.
Be the first to ReplyJubilee Afternoon Tea
My sister and I really enjoyed our afternoon tea with a Jubilee theme. The scones were nice and crisp on the outside whilst still being moist on the inside. Even I couldnโt eat all the clotted cream, a very generous portion. My sister had the savoury afternoon tea, the only complaint being that the third tier was rather rich.
There were several menus to choose from in addition to the traditional afternoon tea including a vegetarian afternoon tea and high tea items for those not wanting the traditional finger sandwiches etc.
Fancy macaroons, dismissive and unfriendly staff
Iโve always wanted to go to Fortnum and Masons so we popped in as a family on my birthday with the aim to purchase some
Fancy biscuits and macaroons.
Well you canโt fault the store visually, itโs stunning and the products are beautifully packaged. However genuine friendly customer service is lacking. I stood at the macaroon counter for 5 mins and waited whilst two members of staff chatted in front of me. When I asked the member of staff what the system
Was, did I need to take a ticket,
I was abruptly told that she was with a
Customer. No sorry,
No Iโll be with you in a moment.
I then stood at the counter for a further five mins whilst people around me were being served. When the member of staff finally came over there was no sorry to have kept you waiting just an abrupt what did I want.
I did start to feel a bit like maybe it was
That I had a touch of the commoner about me! It felt so snooty and unfriendly.
I walked away feeling disappointed
as I have wanted
To go to this store
For such
A long time.
I might not be a high rolling,
High spending customer but I am
Still a customer.
Please train your staff
To be more courteous,
Friendly.
It really goes a
Long way to
Making the day special,
Even more so than
The fancy macaroons.
Embarrassing treatment of elderly guests
I am a regular patron of the F&M restaurant and bar at the Royal Exchange.
I took my 73 year old mom from Canada there last night with her 76 year old friend. My mom is 5 foot 3 inches. She has also had two knee replacements and has a brain injury, meaning she is worried of falling and hitting her head.
She tried to sit on a stool at the bar, but was unable. I tried to help steady her, while the bar man watched and made faces. There were over 15 empty tables, so I asked if we could be served a drink there. The bar man said no, but he would ask. I then watched him speak to a colleague dismissing our request.
We left the venue, my mom embarrassed and disappointed. Every trip to London for the past 17 years she visits your main branch, as my late father used to get her a gift form there when he was on business.
I was disappointed that my usual bar man was not working, as I am sure he would have made an accommodation. While I appreciate that sitting at a table is not standard for drinks service, I do believe that a reasonable accommodation should have been made.
--------
FM then wrote back advising that all the empty tables were booked. This stretches credibility that of the three occupied tables at 8pm on a Wed night that all the others were reserved. I am very disappointed by being fobbed off by F&M.
Exceptional service by James
I visited your King's Cross store on many occasions. On 11 April around 17.27 I was very impressed with the service & knowledge of a member of staff, namely James.
I was somewhat hesitant which different varieties of teas to get for birthday gifts. He was very helpful but also gave me the time so that I could get the right gifts.
I was also very happy that he managed to divert a rude customer who simply interrupted us whilst he was in the middle of our discussion as I was trying to decide which goods to buy on the day.
Thanks James for making my last stop down to London finish on such a high note as I love visiting your store to see what's new.
I hope other members will be of the high calibre of service I received on that day.
Display problems
Meet and greet on ground floor very helpful and courteous. However my experience down in the Food Hall, lower ground, was distressing!
I found the Condimments shelving, but couldn't see where the truffle selection was, and tried to get help from two employees, who didn't know!
The items I was looking for were not displayed well, being at ankle level, so I could only see the jar tops, not the labels! I found the patรจ I wanted, but the potted black truffles were a shelf down, and, being elderly, I couldn't find macerated, and ended up with the more expensive, sliced black truffle.
I have asked if these tiny jars could be displayed on top of the shelving rather than virtually on the floor. Also better signage could be designed for shelf tops, so that customers do not feel they have to crawl to find what they are looking for!
Amazing customer service and stunning food and drink
Once again, a superlative trip to the Wine Bar. My friend hadnโt been before and was asking lots of questions and the staff were so helpful, attentive and kind. The service was, as ever, utterly first class.
Be the first to ReplyVery nice time
This was my first visit to a tea room in London. Although it was quite expensive, I enjoyed the experience very much. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The finger sandwiches were so good and of course the tea was perfect.

A great store spoilt by untrained and uninterested staff.
Tea at The Parlour was very nice - great food but poor service. Likewise the Purfume department, very uninterested staff who seemed to know nothing about the products that they were selling.
