First time visit to FIYA.
We ordered the Salatim, which elevates the typical vegetarian special most Middle Eastern places offer. The variety of tasting dishes seemed like small portions but with their home made pita bread and an order of fries there was plenty to eat for my wife and I. I understand they have a patio -- I look forward to sitting out there when it warms up.

Popped into Fiya unexpectedly because our intended restaurant had too long of a wait, but wow we were very pleasantly surprised with our visit! The vibey atmosphere easily lured us in. The wood-burning oven added to the aesthetic, but also the coziness of the environment, especially on a cold, winter night. They were booked to capacity but luckily had bar seating available. The bartender was kind, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. It was the food, though, that WOWed us the most! Ordered the Gem Lettuce Salad, Boureka, and Moroccan Fish. We were blown away by the Boureka. One of the most delicious and unique tasting foods we've had in awhile. The fish was saucey, flavorful, and flakey. The overall experience couldn't have been better. Very excited for our next visit!

Was introduced to this place via the Andersonville Fika fest coffee & hot chocolate crawl. We were so intrigued by the atmosphere and beautiful oven feature front and center that we chose this spot for a post crawl lunch. The brunch for 2 was a fun eating adventure and a great way to sample many items. We got a side of hummus which was a wonderful addition. The Turkish cigars and fresh pita were highlights for me. There are adorable private igloos in the back that we were intrigued by! Wonderful experience all around!

Fish is decent but the pita and hummus are both extremely bland. The food was mixed overall. It all kind of needed more seasoning.

Food was oustanding! Jerusalem brunch and lamb bacon were phenomenal . The Moka pot coffee was spectacular. We will definitely be back
Be the first to ReplyWe ate everything.
Every single thing we ordered, it was delicious. The favorites were the falafel pita, the cauliflower hummus and the French toast. We are just visiting from out of town but I really think I will miss this place when I leave! There is a wood burning stove in the middle of the restaurant and the pita was fluffy and warm when it came out. Highly recommend for brunch.
Be the first to ReplyWe were underwhelmed.
We ordered the mushrooms, the sweet potatoes and the crispy cauliflower. Presentation was lackluster as was taste. And while dishes are meant to be shared, the portions were extremely small for the price point. My cocktail was overly sweet and skimpy on the alcohol. You scan a code to read the menu on your phone. It's extremely difficult to read due to the tiny font and minimal spacing. It's a restaurant that should have a printed menu.Service was average. When the waiter comes back with your credit card you put in the tip and sign electronically. The tip is set to 22%. An awkward exchange at a restaurant that tries to present itself as somewhat upscale dining. There are many better Mediterranean restaurants in and near Andersonville.Thankfully my wonderful dining companions more than made up for the dining experience!
Be the first to ReplyI've come here many times.
It's my go-to on Clark Street. I love the atmosphere. Great cocktails. We hosted a 20-person party here and had a back room for us. They made special Prix-fix menus for us. I always bring my friends here!!

We were excited by the colorful atmosphere with the beautiful tiled oven and colorful walls. Food was underwhelming and ridiculously priced for what you get. Seriously go buy some chickpeas, tahini, cauliflower and sweet potatoes and look up a few recipes online and you can easily make this food at home. Heat your oven to 500 and roast your own vegetables. Or just go to your local Mediterranean/Middle Eastern restaurant for some much tastier hummus, falafel and kabobs and at much better prices and with more reasonable serving sizes. Two small dumplings in a broth soup for $14 was overpriced. Five small meatballs called lamb kabobs not worth it. Accompanying sauces and yogurts not impressive. Also as the weather turned to winter this restaurant was cold even with the oven in the middle of the restaurant. Service was so so.

Food is great. Service is awful. Everything seems to take forever. From cocktails to get our waitress to stop rolling up utensils on napkins while we sit hoping to order this month. Hostess lady at the front. Maybe don't act like you're doing customers a favor by sitting them. Atmosphere really kills the potential vibe.
Be the first to ReplyEverything was delicious, fresh.
Homemade pitas, fantastic fries. Pita sandwiches with layers of flavor. Can't wait to return. I doubt you can go wing with this menu. We got fresh squeezed OJ, bacon lamb pita, sabich pita(eggplant plus lots of other). Everything we saw coming out of the kitchen looked good.

I've been coming to Fiya for a while & have really loved the food in the past. I've found that the menu has had some changes in the last several months - making some items available for only lunch & some for dinner. Something has been a little 'off' the last few times I have gone, but I'm sure that has to do with everything surrounding COVID & small businesses being effected. The katchupuri shakshuka is solid & great for splitting. I like the chickpea hummus as well - the last time we went, our pita was not cooked all the way through but we ate around it. The schnitzel dinner was solid - I would go back for that. The star of the night, though, was the Za'atar fries. I don't think they're listed on the dinner menu anymore but they are my absolute FAVORITE part of eating here. (not pictured because we ate them way too quickly)

Four of us came for brunch on a Saturday morning right when the restaurant opened - we were the first ones seated. Everything was great. We split hummus with chickpea and hard egg to start. Three out of the four us got the shakshuka (after scrolling through all sorts of Instagram and Yelp content to try and decide, couldn't pass up on such a staple) and the fourth person got the steak and eggs. All of the food was hot, tasty, and really good portions. The pita with the hummus and the pita croutons with the shakshuka rocked. I really wanted to try the Jerusalem breakfast but sadly couldn't convince anyone to split it with me. A few tables around us ordered it and it looked great. Next time! Our waitress was also outstanding - she was so on top of checking on us and making sure the food came out together! It was our first time at Fiya but will likely not be our last.
Be the first to ReplyJust an OK place, had better middle eastern elsewhere.
Decent appetizer sampler. Fish was oversalted and overspiced, it's like they tried a bit too hard to make it seem "Moroccan". Does hostess really need to check your drivers license to make sure the name matches the vax card? Not likely to to be back.

Bread is unreal but the Kofta wasn't very good and the price was excessive. $18 for 3 meatballs? I will try more before grading lower. If you want better Kefta/kofta there are plenty of options south in Clark.
Be the first to ReplyGood food at a reasonable price.
Lots of variety, and two different khachapuri dishes! The outdoor personal igloos were beyond awesome. It was very nice to be able to go out to eat right now and stay isolated from the rest of the restaurant. When we went, it was actually raining as compared to snowing as you might expect in December, but the igloos served their purpose no matter.

Manager or employee was yelling at a customer (out the front door) as they were denied service for not having a vaccine card. Even after seeing our vaccine cards they asked somebody else in our party what my name was to confirm my ID wasn't fake. Seriously I might as well take a Covid test at the door. The rest of our party that showed late never got their Vaccine card or ID checked. Hmmm. The service was extremely slow. The food was overpriced, and an absolute miss. My chicken was dry and overcooked, the dish just did not come together as it should. My partner ordered some thing that tasted like chili out of a can. We came with somebody that knew the type of food extremely well, he said he understands what they were trying to do, but there were quite a bit of Misses on the menu. Also, They would not split our bill into 3 (couples) eating at the table. Place seems to run with a bit of ego, "our shit don't stink." This place needs to step it up. Atmosphere and location and smells were amazing. This place fell short on everything else.
