I wish Fish were still open.
I stumbled upon it years back when one of my best gal pals and I would rant a place around the corner for a fun week each fall. Dinners at Fish were part of what we looked forward to! Now, no more Fish and my friend Diana lost a long battle with lung cancer. Sad all around. Thanks tho for the amazing food and happy memories. Cheers.

This is the best place for oysters and fish in the city. I'm happy to help if you have closed for financial issues. And also, if you have opened in an other location, please let us know here !

LOVE this place and so sad it's closed! Please open back up please!!!! This is a staple for my husband and I and all of our friends! Best crab legs and lobster in town. And even though I don't eat oysters on a regular basis because they gross me out, I can tolerate them when I come here because they have a good offering. The wine is always pouring and everyone is happy at Fish. Great atmosphere!
Be the first to ReplyThis is my favorite place in NYC.
I almost cried when I passed by the restaurant and found out that they are closed:( I love every single person worked in this restaurant and their oysters are unbeatable!I found myself kept checking on the restaurant on Google still even though I knew they r closed. Couple days ago I saw Google map changed it from "permanently closed" to "temporarily closed" which brought me some hope I really hope they will reopen again and everyone working there are doing well during this chaotic year

My heart is broken- I've been coming here for years and have brought several people here that have become loyal customers... I really hope they open up again... the freshest raw bar, the scallop cerviche, and the lobster bisque were my faves - and I love the staff. Wishing them the best and PLEASE OPEN BACK UP.
Be the first to ReplyI used to never eat seafood, and then I was brought here.
It was the go-to spot for me, and I'm so sad it closed! I really hope it reopens. It holds so many wonderful memories as well.

One of the best seafood restaurants in the city, the ceviche was unique and delicious, never had something quite like it. The lobster and crab always tasted fresh, not commercial at all. I really hope they reopen, I'd show my loyal support.

Whenever people outside of NYC ask me - "How are you Coping" my answer is: "We're OK. We still have work and even though it's not what is was, we manage. It just breaks my heart to see so many of our friends and neighbors in the restaurant industry struggling to hang on in these times. People who choose this work do it because they love it - the returns are very 'hand to mouth' - it's about passion and the joy of cooking and service".Seeing lovely little FISH being no longer open today made me so sad. They really cared about serving good food at a good price with a natural hospitality that made you feel happy and at ease.i hope that the owners, chefs, servers, bartenders and raw-bar crew are OK and well. You were very good to your clientele - you deserve better than what is happening now.

The good ol' days. The fish n chips was great too. We miss Fish

Sometimes I order two calamari because they are so irresistible. Their marinara sauce that comes with the calamari is rich and full of flavor. All of their entrees are amazing! Even their lobster Mac and cheese is perfect. Almost every time I have been here, I order too much food. Also they have the red white and blue special which is a red or white wine with blue point oysters for a reasonable price! This is a great place to meet up with a couple of friends and have a really good meal.
Be the first to ReplyWell, this place has been on my list since forever.
I came around 7 on a Wednesday a couple months ago and it really wasn't that crowded. Like, a 0 minute wait and everything. I don't know if it's normally like this, but perhaps since the weather was pretty cold, people didn't want to come out.We ordered a grilled calamari to share, while I got a fish and chips. I was surprised by the fact that the food came out blazingly fast for a restaurant of this type... it probably only took 5-6 minutes for the food to be cooked. The grilled calamari tasted great, but it was probably salted a little bit too heavily. Luckily, they provided us with with a good deal of marinara, as well as lemon, so I was able to drown out a little bit of the salt- not that the salt was a huge deal, since I like heavily flavored things... but just a little less salt would be good. The fried fish is a little bit different from what I was expecting. It's not very deeply fried, nor does it have a whole lot of batter. IT is mostly fish; three pieces, not too big but not too small either. Surprisingly, it's not paired with tartar sauce or anything like that, but some sort of apple sauce dip. Interesting choice. Fries are good but fairly straight forward.Lots of other dishes which look good here, so I'd like to return at some point.
