Good restaurant in great location
We went to Fischers after a friend recommendation.Great restaurant in Mayfair are in London, cozy decoration. Full support and awareness about allergies, very appreciated. Very good and relaxing atmosfere.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious Wiener Schnitzel
Delightful restaurant with old world Viennese atmosphere - good service, delicious Wiener Schnitzel - order small as very generous portions.
Be the first to ReplySlightly disappointed!
I’ve visited Fischers many times in recent years and always thought it a reliable restaurant. Not cheap but fairly good value with reasonable service. However, having visited midweek in March with friends I was incredibly disappointed. Luckily it was my food which was disappointing (as I was hosting) but neither did I want to make a fuss. The issue was with the Sea Bass-described on the menu as served with Lyonnaise potatoes. I’m sorry but it was served with potato crisps. Ready salted supermarket crisps. The waitress assured me they were Lyonnaise potatoes and I didn’t argue as I was with guests. Luckily their dishes were fine but there was much laughter round the table as I shared the crisps!

The beautiful decor and authentic food did not make up for the rude behaviour of our waitress (a middle age lady who clearly thought my family did not deserve attentive and respectful service). When ordering I do not appreciate being barked at in front of my family. It may annoy your waitress to have to point out that there are a choice of sides with a particular menu item. Barking “with?” “WITH??” is never appropriate. That encounter set the tone for the evening. Minimal engagement. No eye contact. Very little attention to our needs. Left feeling miserable and disappointed.

I have been coming to this restaurant for many years. Since COVID the prices have risen and the service has gone down. Today, it was busy with insufficient staff, the quality of the food not as it used to be , unfortunately I will not be rushing back
Be the first to ReplyCover charge, really?!
I do like Fishers, been many times with my partner, with friends, family etc. The food is reliable and service is good. Even on the busiest nights they manage to handle a full setting in good time. Tonight was no exception, the bar man made great drinks while we waited, the Maitre D' was good, our waitress was on point and the food was cooked to what you'd expect. Once the bill came we discovered the cover charge, a measly £1.75 per person. I want to hope they're trying to evoke a continental Europe feel with this but we're in London. If I'm paying £150+ for dinner and drinks in less than 2 hours I shouldn't have to pay this? If you're struggling with overhead remove the bread? I love it and I am happy to order it for a fee. Either I've never noticed the cover charge or it's new but we can't let this become the norm in London. I'm glad they no longer serve the abomination they called Kaisershmarn.
Be the first to ReplyWhat a Pity!
This was my first visit with a friend for lunch on their recommendation . I must say that the staff were extremely friendly. The food was delicious. Unfortunately, there is a ‘however’ service was exceptionally slow . We asked to see the desert menu and after a very, very long wait we were presented with the bill. We again asked for the desert menu. This was done in good humour . After another considerable wait our coffee arrived. We really did not mind the wait but I take exception that we were, be it politely, asked to vacate the table. When we mentioned, yet again politely, the slowness of service there was no response - this was ignored . We felt that we could not finish our coffee as we were being made to feel most uncomfortable The table was being relaid whilst we were gathering our belongings. I did consider going back with my husband and friends but that is now very doubtful.

I visited with my daughter Maria. We were warmly welcomed and shown to our table. Our waiter was Vad. A wonderful waiter who couldn’t be more helpful. The Rosti with black pudding was delicious as was the Schnitzel. The whole experience was faultless.
Be the first to ReplyPerpetuating a woeful experience…
I thought I should write a follow-up as my previous review of Fischers was responded to by the restaurants’ management offering an email address to discuss my feedback in more detail. Despite several follow-ups nothing has been heard back which while not surprising, after our experience, is still disappointing. I’m conscious that when I see reviews where management respond it sets the perception in readers minds that resolution has occurred. In this case I’ve just been ignored which shows the contempt they hold for clients and reflects our experience on the night.
Be the first to ReplyA lovely evening! Warm attentive staff.
This was my first visit to Fischer’s but I have eaten at other restaurants in The Wolsey Group. This being an Austrian restaurant means the menu is different from the other venues but still has my favourite soufflé! More of that later… My sister & I had such a warm welcome from who I assume was the maitre d when we arrived and although we were a little early our table was ready in minutes. A corner table too which was so nice. Another lovely welcome from the man who took us to our table. Although I knew I was going to order the soufflé, the menu was interesting & varied. My sister had the chicken schnitzel, spätzle & pickled cucumber which she said were delicious & a generous portion. I had the soufflé & some chips. I can honestly say this was the best cheese soufflé I have had in a very long time. I actually had a chat about this with the maitre d before we left so she could pass on my compliments to to the chef. The chips were also perfect. Service was exemplary. I will definitely be returning.

Lovely evening - walked in off the street on the off chance as in the area for my son's 16th birthday. The helpful staff managed to make a table available for an hour which was all we needed. Lovely food and amazing staff. Thank you all.

Found this restaraunt by chance wondering around ..Outstanding traditional food Austrian/German Schnitzel was really nice and so was the tafelspitz
Be the first to ReplyA bizarre and disappointing experience
An ok meal, probably ***. Here is the email I sent afterwards. I visited Fischer's with my wife for lunch last Wed 15th February. We had a pleasant enough time. However there was one thing that caused me considerable upset. My wife had a small Wiener Schnitzel and I had regular one. They arrived quickly and I was surprised that at first glance they were ‘difficult’ to tell apart. We studied them and I thought that mine was just 10% larger. My wife thought maybe a little more - let's say 15%. Why is this important? Well you charge an additional £15 (+83%) for the regular over the small. I just couldn't get my mind around that. In fact I was expecting around double the small one. (Over the years I have enjoyed quite a number in Vienna) I spoke to the waiter who said they were sized by weight. Mine was no thicker than the small one. They were both as thin as they should be. I did push him a little but he seemed unwilling to acknowledge the problem. I have no complaints at all about him. I was unwilling to make scene so started on my lunch though I was far from happy. I am aware that the restaurant trade is facing challenging times but I am unable to see any justification for charging so much for less than 15% extra. It is simply wrong. I thought it must have been a mistake with the order but the waiter said it was not. Is there a plausible explanation? I look forward to receiving your response. END Please note I asked for nothing just an explanation. Neither an acknowledgment nor a reply has been received. I have happily visited Zedel many times over the years. This was my first visit to Fischer's for which I made a special journey. I abhor a business which treats its customers with disdain. I will not use a Wolseley restaurant again.
Be the first to ReplyAnother Wolseley Group Winner!
We were happy to return to Fischers for a delightful lunch in Marylebone. Great atmosphere typical of the Wolseley Group of restaurants; all of which we love. Nice Austrian/MittelEurope menu here. Love the cucumber salad, smoked salmon, cheese souffle, and an excellent tafelzpitz, the Viennese specialty. The beef was “fallin’-apart” good! Reasonable wines available on the list; excellent service.

Literally walked in off the street and the Maitr’d very kindly ‘found some space’. Service was brisk yet really friendly, our orders came in perfect time, the food was generously portioned and well presented. The decor and ambience takes you back to Vienna in the 1930s without really trying. In a word, excellent.
Be the first to Replywhat happened ??
several courses (chopped liver, "Broetchen", trout, spaetchkok chicken, sachertorte ---- no, no, no. This is neither Austrian nor good cuisine. Most of the food was no better than a take-away. tasteless and unauthentic. "Broetchen" is not a small slice of bread. Sacher torte is not" brownies" Service was excellent

Love this place. Great food, atmosphere and staff. Juan was especially helpful when trying to choose wines for the evening! Will be back soon
Be the first to ReplyBest schnitzels in town.
Excellent service - friendly & efficient. Food beautifully cooked and tasty. Schnitzels crispy and meat tender. Pickled cucumber & spätzle. Only one small thing - we were asked if we wanted ‘water for the table’, which I assumed (wrongly) was tap water. I should have specified tap water. Most other tables had large metal jugs of tap water. We had two bottled waters ( not sealed ), just filtered water from the fridge. £3 a bottle. Everything else was perfect.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food, great service
Me and my wife had an amazing lunch with Juan waiting on us, who is an absolute pleasure. We have been here many times and always love the food.
Be the first to ReplyGreat apart from service
The food was delicious! Very confused and slow service let it down, especially when adding 15% for the privilege. The decor and ambiance are excellent.
Be the first to ReplyFirst time brunch visit
My friend raves about this place, but I just don’t get it. Perhaps it is because the majority of the menu didn’t appeal to me, but I just can’t see the justification for brunch costing almost as much as a 2 or 3 course meal.
Be the first to ReplyThe most expensive worst meal ever
This has to have been my worse meal ever. The quality of the food was appalling and the cost was extortionate. We paid £120 for 2 hot dogs, 2 servings of chips, a vegetarian salad and a thin dry piece of chicken. Prett would have been a better option. Avoid at all costs.
Be the first to ReplySuperb place to eat in Marylebone Lane
Personally I think Marylebonme Lane and the area is far better than the overrated West End for eating and shopping - I've been to Fischer's a few times and it's always welcoming, professinonal and serves good food and wines. Will I go back - oh yes
Be the first to ReplyA great find!
We had a celebratory family lunch here and received 5 star service. We chose this restaurant primarily as we needed somewhere that was fully accessible which was essential for us. It turned out to be a really good decision! We were very well looked after. The food was absolutely delicious, great menu. Also loved the decor. I would highly recommend a visit.
Be the first to Replygreat Austrian restaurant with kids
great restaurant authentic and tasty. we came as a family of 5 with kids. the restaurant is very nicely decorated, the waiters are very kind. the food was great, we tool sausage, schnitzel, rib eye and grilled salmon fish. All were very tasty. the portions are not very large. we took a tea pot for desert and a strudel which was average.
