OMG Indian fusion !
After seeing a evening play we had said we wanted to eat at an Indian Cafe, so.. after we came across this place, walked in to see if they could seat us and sure enough we found ourselves at a corner table facing the bar. Chicken Tika and rice for me and a rib eye for him and then for dessert a chocolate ball with ice cream covered with hot chocolate sauce, we nearly licked the plate. Wonderful wait staff and excellent food and service, a nice evening after a wonderful day in London.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing and overpriced
Wilmslow, United Kingdom We were so looking forward to visiting Farzi for our anniversary dinner but sadly the experience wasn’t the best. Had a manager even asked us how our meal was, I wouldn’t have had to leave a not so great review. We were early for our table but the lady on reception was new and didn’t want to send us to the bar in case that was wrong. I tried to reassure her that the restaurant would want us to buy drinks before sitting but she kept us in reception. Not her fault, but it set the tone. We were seated at our table 10 minutes later and my 10 year old ordered the burger slider for kids at £14 - pricey for a kids meal but if the portion was decent, it would be okay. It wasn’t - there was one very small slider on the plate with a handful of chips. Totally overpriced. I ordered the avocado tokri which was gorgeous and the other half had the chicken starter which was underwhelming. Mains we had black cod and the lamb biriyani. The lamb Biriyani was over £30 and the lamb was very tender. The flavours were nothing special or any better than you’d get in any other Indian restaurant. The black cod was the most expensive dish and most disappointing. The waiter didn’t advise it was tiny or that we needed any sides so I just ordered it thinking there would be a decent salad on the plate as the menu suggested. The cod was tasty but there were several big bones in it. Now I cook a lot with fish and even the fish I source from the fish monger has no bones in a cod fillet, so why a £36 small piece of cod couldn’t be boned is beyond me. I did tell the waiter there were several bones and he fed back to the chef stating it’s normal to have one or two small bones.....I reiterated that one of two may have been fine of the price point reflected that but I had 5/6 big fish bones. The waiter apologised and said he would pass on my comment. We were not asked if we enjoyed our meal by anyone so we couldn’t give feedback more personally. We left hungry and dissatisfied and won’t be back. We paid the full bill and service charge because we did eat all the food and some of it was lovely but the kids meal and cod really let the whole meal down. We left and went further down the road for more drinks and food elsewhere.
Be the first to ReplyFancy restaurant before West End show
Really good location- almost exactly opposite Her Majesty’s Theatre (Phantom of the Opera) and a five minute walk from other West End theatres. Very posh / fancy with beautiful decor and big comfy chairs (that were closer to arm chairs than typical dining chairs). We arrived at 5pm and needed to ask for the pre-theatre menu as we weren’t automatically given it (despite it being available until 6pm). Quite pricey and a 12.5% gratuity is added to the bill but it was great (so worthwhile). We both had the chicken tikka masala as a main with rice. It was very nice. much more creamy than I'm used to. I then had the fig and ginger pudding. It was unusual and interesting. They have every kind of alcohol you can imagine but no beer on tap. (Bottles only). The loos are down a set of stairs. Great ambience in the restaurant. I’d go back for another special occasion.

Booked for a special birthday for me and my husband. We booked early as I wanted to choose from the pre theatre menu but my husband wanted a lamb dish from the main menu. The staff said we couldn’t as it was policy? When I spoke to the manager he said I could if I sat at another table on my own!! As you had to pick from one menu per table, he actually said it with a smerk on his face! He was so rude and unhelpful, the staff said they were so sorry it was the managers decision they also couldn’t understand how I could have what I wanted if I sat in a table on my own but not at table with my husband? Completely awful and power happy manager. I would just like to say I have never complained in my life but I was so upset, I need to let others know. The managers name is Lorin.
Be the first to ReplyFantastic evening!
Beautiful valentine's menu with optional wine pairing. The awadhi lamb chops were to die for. The fortune teller cocktail was the most refreshing and delicious one that I have ever had. Staff were very attentive and polite, especially Ashin.
Be the first to ReplyVery poo customer service
Very poor customer service from the restaurant and their several managers. Not expected from a restaurant like such as this
Be the first to ReplyReally lovely
It was a lovely experience. The staff were so attentive and the place was very clean. The food was beautiful and the presentation was incredible We will definitely be back and it’s right next to the theatre
Be the first to ReplyQuite Good
The menu is creative, though I would have liked a broader selection. I ordered the prawns and they were delicious. I just wish that the portion was a bit larger. Would revisit.

As the title suggests, I am not a fan of the “Indian” over spiced greasy efforts have put me off over the years. So I booked this restaurant as Michelin said it was good. I am so glad that I persevered and was willing to give it a go. The taster menu (at a reasonable special occasion price) was ample for my husband and I. Each dish was a revelation. The Paneer and sauce an absolute triumph. If I were to critique, it would be that an explanation of the dishes would have been welcomed. I was a bit weary of the desert as again, not a fan of Asian deserts, but they gave us the most beautiful sticky toffee pudding that I inhaled. A nice touch was that we had a little plate celebrating our anniversary. All in all, I would recommend.
Be the first to ReplyGreat evening drinking amazibg cocktails
This place is awesome. Went in as part of a tour and ended up staying there for about 4 and a half hours. The cocktails are increadible and the mixologists brilliant. Special shout out to Engji Shala, who kept creating some increadible drinks for us and kept us entertained with his creative genius. Ask to see their lab downstairs and listen to him talk with passion about how he creates. Highly recommend going in and enjoying a few of the amazing cocktail on offer her.

We were looking for something a bit different to the traditional Indian restaurant so gave this a go. Ordered the coconut prawns to start which were lovely but there were only 4. We were disappointed to see only 1 rice option which was plain boiled. The main courses were a real disappointment. The paneer curry was 3 slices of cheese with a side jug of tikka sauce. For the price it was basic and stingy. Salmon tikka was 3 pieces of fish which was slightly greasy. The asparagus and chilli curry was runny and more like a soup. Overall not impressed. Main courses around £27 each. I would have expected better for this type of venue. I wouldn't recommend anything apart from the prawns
Be the first to ReplyPleasant food but small portions & strange rules
I waited more than 10 minutes before being approached to offer a drink. I was a few minutes early so I didn’t mind too much but I do prefer to be offered a drink as soon as I arrive. I was only given the pre-theatre menu. One of wanted a starter and main, the other wanted a main and a dessert. I was informed that is not possible and made to feel as if I was trying to pull a fast one. Very strange and uncomfortable. The ladies on the table next to us were told the same and they were also irritated. As it happens we had one starter and two mains between us, because we ran out of time, but we were charged for 2 x 2 courses which seems petty. The food itself was tasty but the small plates are very small and the main courses are more of a starter size. It is an interesting menu and I am tempted to return but I am not wanting to get involved in an argument about silly, illogical, rules.

Love Indian food in London and this restaurant has a fresh and innovative spin on Indian cuisine. Our favorites were chicken tikka, banana ragas chaat and the lamb biryani. Service started slow but picked up speed. Give it a try next time you are in London
Be the first to ReplyFantastic food and great service
Birthday meal (4 people total) whilst in London, chose this place based on the menu and reviews on here. Food was first class. Service was excellent... allowed us to order the set menu (which was supposed to be ordered in advance), allowed us to move to a larger table. Very attentive, happy to explain what the dishes were. Nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend 5/5
Be the first to ReplyLovely time pre cocktail drinks
Fantastic staff especially Akshat who created beautiful cocktails. We will be back again! Thank you x
Be the first to Replyamazing food and service at farzi
We booked a table for a special birthday reservation and were lucky enough to be given a private dining room. The service was excellent and we had a wonderful time. The food was the best Indian food i have tasted and I would certainly go back for more. Particularly delicious was the avocado waffle (chat), banana cutlet and the lamb chops ! Can't wait to return

Food is solid, but constantly pressured to buy more and then wrap up and finish quickly, and ridiculous West End prices.
Be the first to ReplyCERTAINLY NOT CHILDREN FRIENDLY. MADE TO FEEL VERY UNCOMFORTABLE FROM THE MOMENT WE WERE SEATED.
I am a very keen enthusiast within the food and hospitality sector as I am a restaurant manager myself. We have a group of collective 20 restaurants and I would be disturbed and embarrassed if any of our restaurants ever made a family or individual feel so uncomfortable.
We a regular diners at Chutney Mary's, Tamarind, Bombay Brasserie and the family famous Veeraswamy. In fact the majority of the more longer standing Michelin recommended or starred establishments have never failed to disappoint once. Intact we live in Birmingham and travel to London just for a good quality Indian dining experience. Unfortunately, my views and thoughts are just as a diner and as a person who knows what is required to uphold a strong level of service and communication within the restaurant floor, amongst staff and supervisors. Infact our restaurant beaten in Birmingham has been recognised amongst high peers being a family run establishment.
Your maitre de or person at reception welcoming guests upon arrival was hesitant and almost disregarded me and my family for some reason. To which we felt very uncomfortable immidieatly to on entering. Me and my wife looked at each other and tried to ignore the being felt unwelcomed as we had a baby 1 years of age and a toddler 5 years of age. We sat at our table and as we were hungry wanted to order but due to my baby crying and the staff not approaching us, I mean not even a single member of staff came to even ask our drinks and the restaurant was just entering dinner service,
We then decided to get up and leave. I told one of the managers on the way out that I apologise for the disturbance of my baby to any other diners and maybe perhaps we should revisit another day without the children. To which the female manager wearing a black blazer at the back of the restaurant floor replied "yes it would be better, thank you...."
Now that's fine but to not even be courteous or even compelling towards the effort we made to coming to your restaurant leaves us disgusted and I am not spending my hard earn money with you on that basis, I do not feel the service or staff have the right approach and in fact need training heavily as they almost think the MICHILEN BADGE IS UN-TAKABLE. To which my review has been forwarded to.
I look forward to your reply. PS its such a shame we couldn't try the food as we have heard good things on the presentation of your dishes.
Kind Regard

Not worth the price
The food is correct at Cafe Farzi, but for sure not worth the price. The small plates are actually really small. The drinks are very expensive as well, and cocktails are definitely too sweet.
The service is not acceptable, all what we ordered arrived on the table pretty fast in a random range. It forces you to eat faster if you want to have it warm.
The music is too loud.
Great location for theatre and modern restaurant with nice food
We arrived just before 5pm and table was not ready so we had to wait at the bar and buy drinks
Table was ok but tight to other early menu table guests ( on top of one another ) post covid I would suggest owner thinks of this
Menu was limited to three or four items and prawns were not available so limited further
Food ordered arrived quickly and was very nice
A nice modern restaurant could be better with few improvements
Great quality, flavoursome food.
Another excellent meal at the Farzi Cafe. The food really is very good. Great choices for vegetarians and meat eaters alike, excellent flavours and the staff are welcoming and engaging.
The pre-theatre menu is very good value for the quality of food and whilst the menu is limited, it is served quickly. The non-special menus have a great selection of dishes which makes it almost impossible to choose!
Fantastic
We went there for an early birthday, the food was scrumptious, the staff was incredible, we had a private room. We had an amazing time, we stayed till it was closing its doors.
Food: 100%
Drinks: 100%
Staff: 100%
Pre theatre dinner
Had the pre theatre menu, food was delicious and we had a lovely evening. Theatre is right next door so not far to go at all. Service was brilliant and the staff were very helpful.
Be the first to ReplyWell worth a visit, lovely bar and restaurant
Great ambiance, lovely staff and excellent drinks selection including Monkey 47, found them by accident, but what a find will make a point of revisiting when next in town
Be the first to ReplyIndian Cuisine with a compelling twist
What I will carry with me of this experience first and foremost is definitely the menu: i have hardly seen such an original combination of flavours and spices. I have also had some of my first time tasting, like the blue corn chips, that I had never seen before.
Coming here only once is definitely not enough, as you will have to make very tough decisions when ordering your food.
In the end i went for Guntur Chicken and Bhuna Goat-Taco (with the blue chips!) and, as mains, the Venison Gassi Pepper Fry and the juicy Lamb Shank Vindaloo, served with steamed rice. Good portions overall. We didn’t leave hungry.
The environment is relaxed chic and the service is kind and caring. I think the waiters were Indian, which of course was a plus and made it feel it more authentic.
