Evvia is an outstanding Greek restaurant in downtown Palo Alto -- everything we tried impressed, and I'd gladly eat here again. I came with a few coworkers for my second time , and we decided to order a spread of appetizers along with a bottle of Amethystos Cava that was recommended. While I'd call myself a slightly-above-average wine drinker, this bottle was one of the best reds I've ever had, even compared to wines I've tried in Napa. It's refreshing and flavorful, with just a subtle bitterness. Definitely on the lighter side for a red, but incredibly delicious. Expensive, yes -- but I'd recommend it without hesitation. Kolokithokeftethes - crispy zucchini cakes (8/10): Great crisp on the outside, soft flavorful texture inside. The tzatziki on top adds creaminess and balance. Not the boldest flavor, but still really tasty. Octapodaki tou Yiorgou - grilled octopus with lemon (9/10): One of the best dishes. Perfectly tender with zero bounce. The flavor gradient was incredible -- bright lemon sourness up front, finishing with a deep charred bitterness. Highly recommend. Anginares Souvlaki - grilled artichokes & eggplant skewer (7/10): Simple but really good. The veggies were tender, melted in our mouths, and nicely charred, but compared to the other dishes, it wasn't the standout. Arnisia Plevrakia - grilled lamb riblets (10/10): Absolutely phenomenal. The bark was chewy, almost like savory candy, while the lamb itself was tender and flavorful. A perfect meat-on-bone dish -- I could have eaten 15 of these. Soutzoukakia - baked meatballs in tomato (9/10): Another standout. The cinnamon in the sauce was strong and gave it a unique twist that elevated it far above your average meatballs. Tender, flavorful, and addictive -- especially with bread. Evvia Flatbread (8.5/10): Surprisingly one of the best flatbreads I've had. The caramelized onions made it sweet in the best way, balanced by the olives. The crust was soft yet structured. The most unexpected hit of the night. Service was excellent throughout -- attentive, super friendly, and everything flowed smoothly. The waiters have amazing personalities and really take care of you. Overall, Evvia is a gem in downtown Palo Alto. Perfect for a date night, a special occasion, or just treating yourself to consistently delicious Greek food. The lamb riblets, octopus, and meatballs are must-orders, and the wine list is stellar. While we only had apps this time, I've gotten entrΓ©es here before and those also impressed -- you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

My favorite restaurant in the Palo Alto area I love the whole grilled Bronzino, so delicious Highly recommended
Good food , grilled octopus is tasty & fresh .
Service was awesome . Nice ambience but noisy !
Another wonderful meal at the Evvia.
You can't go wrong with what you order. We had family visiting from out of town. They wanted steak. We wanted vegetarian. We both were content with flavorful meals. A definite favorite for us in Palo Alto.

It's always so wonderful eating at Evvia! The food here is always delicious and the service is always great! My favorite here is probably the seasonal watermelon salad, I also really like their octopus and their calamari! I always love the vibes here and love how aesthetic it is inside!!
One of the best Mediterranean spots I've been to --
One of the best Mediterranean spots I've been to -- seriously impressive. I've eaten at a lot of restaurants, but this one stood out big time. Every dish looked beautiful and tasted even better. We started with the grilled lamb chops -- cooked perfectly, juicy inside with a flavorful herb sauce on top. The olive oil it sat in? You'll want to dip everything in it. The mezze platter was fresh and well-balanced: creamy tzatziki, hummus, grape leaves, grilled pita, and crisp veggies. Classic, but done really well. Then came the chicken souvlaki platter, and it was a star. Tender grilled chicken, potatoes, a refreshing tomato-cucumber salad, and thick, tasty tzatziki. Even the lemon came wrapped in mesh -- no seeds, no mess. Loved that. The whole grilled fish (looked like branzino) was flaky and flavorful, served with garlicky sautΓ©ed greens and that same killer herb sauce. Light, clean, delicious. Finally, the cheesecake with berry compote on a crispy kataifi base was absolutely . Not too sweet, just rich and smooth with that perfect crunch. Service was solid, and the food felt thoughtful -- not just thrown together. Highly recommend for a date night, a chill dinner with friends, or honestly, even if you're dining solo and want something special.

The service was great, Raffaela was very attentive and wished us a happy anniversary. Food was delicious and the ambience is very nice. Awesome Greek spot!
This was so delicious.
Sooo much better than Taverna, high quality and crazy flavorful!!! We ate lot of fish bones during this meal but it was worth. Walked in with no reservation at a cheeky 6pm and they still managed to squeeze us in, 10/10 service!
Had such a fabulous meal at Evvia, that I was already
Had such a fabulous meal at Evvia, that I was already dreaming about the next time I'll come back before I even left! Three of us came here for dinner, and ordered everything to share. We started with the grilled octopus and anginares souvlaki, a grilled artichoke and eggplant appetizer. The grilled octopus was some of the best I've ever had, extremely tender and flavorful, I would come back just for that alone. For entrees we got the Psari Psito (Mediterranean Sea Bass) and Grilled dry aged ribeye. Both were fantastic - flavorful, cooked to perfection, and the perfect size for sharing. We enjoyed the sides that came with each dish, and also ordered the asparagus, which was a special that day. For dessert we got the greek yogurt cheesecake with Huckleberry compote and chocolate cake with sour cherry ice cream, both were a huge hit, but the cheesecake was phenomenal and we couldn't stop raving about it. Again, something I would come back for alone. We brought a bottle of wine and then opted for glasses from the by the glass list later in the meal. They had quite an extensive wine selection, and our server was nice enough to let us try a handful as we were trying to decide what we wanted. He also didn't get annoyed that we weren't liking any of them. I ended up liking a chenin blanc the most, one we didn't taste before, but probably would've opted for a bottle of, had we. Biggest pointer that I cannot emphasize enough, make a reservation! We had a 5:15 reservation and by 5:30 every table was filled. We heard some people walk in without a reservation shortly after opening, and they were turned away as the only walk-in table for the evening was already taken.
Evvia is the sister restaurant of Kokkari and is a nice
Evvia is the sister restaurant of Kokkari and is a nice option for several reasons such as: - if I don't want to make the trek up to the city - if I want to dine outdoors with my pup - if I don't want a hard time getting a reservation - if I want Kokkari but don't want to pay the surcharge...jkjk kinda. THE ONLY THING IS THEY DO NOT HAVE THE KATAIFI EKMEK DESSERT! In all seriousness, Evvia is one of the top Greek restaurants on the opposite end of SF. Many of the dishes are the same/similar, but I do wish they had the classic creamy custard dessert with the shredded phyllo. We opted to sit on the outdoor patio for a late lunch and they graciously accommodated our little shiba inu. The staff even brought out some water for him without us asking. We ordered the saghanaki ($19.75) which is pan-fried cheese and it goes beautifully with the complimentary bread. We also got the seasonal watermelon salad with feta bits ($16), not the most exciting thing but so perfect for a toasty Summer day. For the mains, we decided to share the salmon ($44.50). It was cooked perfectly and accompanied by a potato puree -which I inhaled. We ended the meal with a Greek yogurt cheesecake ($15). It was lighter than your traditional American cheesecake and drizzled with a tarty fruit glaze. The only thing I didn't enjoy....and it's not the staff's fault at all, were the other patrons, specifically one older gentleman. He was seated right next to us and came to our table as I was about to bite into my bread. He asked my partner and I who was better at taking photos. We glanced at each other and then he proceeds to just hand us his phone to take a photo of him and his party without even asking if we would mind or apologizing for the intrusion. THE AUDACITY AND THE ENTITLEMENT. OMG. I was so annoyed with him, but my partner kindly took a photo. I also didn't like how he talked to staff and how he said he knew the menu better than they did, but you know, typically conceited Silicon Valley behavior. Anyways, just wanted to rant. I hope I don't run into him again.
Delicious food and nice ambiance for sure.
Server was really kind. Happy with our Father's day lunch!
Dinner at Evvia Estiatorio was a wonderful experience!
Dinner at Evvia Estiatorio was a wonderful experience! Everything from the food to the service and ambiance were delightful. Our waiter checked in often, made delicious recommendations, always made sure our glasses were full, and did all the little things to make our dinner enjoyable. His genuine passion for his restaurant and Greek cuisine truly enhanced our meal. We ordered the Octapodaki tou Yiorgou octopus, watermelon feta salad, Avgolemono soup, Arni Souvlaki lamb skewers and Arnisia Paidakia lamb chops. Every dish was full of flavor. The highlight of the evening was the Arnisia Paidakia lamb chops. The lamb was seasoned with a delightful blend of herbs and spices, and certainly a special dish. One of the best lamb chops I have ever had. I'm looking forward to coming back!
I absolutely loved the ambiance inside of the restaurant;
I absolutely loved the ambiance inside of the restaurant; perfect for both family and for a date night. The warm lighting and decor was great, and was probably my favorite. Service was great; our waitress was very attentive, and the rest of the wait staff were also very kind and came often to fill up our water and take dishes away. Garides tou Fournou (Prawns) - 5/5 I really loved this dish and was probably my favorite of the night. So simple yet so incredibly good, and the bread acted as a great way to soak up all the sauce that came with it. Arnisia Paidakia (Lamb Chops) - 5/5 Incredible flavor. Perfectly cooked and had an excellent crust. I highly recommend getting this dish. Kokinisto me Manestra (Lamb Shank) - 4/5 Also was pretty good. I thought the flavor was lacking a bit and that it was a bit one note. However, this may have been the most tender lamb I have ever had in my life. It was much better with a spritz of lemon, though I would still get the lamb chops over this. Overall, I had a great experience.

Came here with some friends and I must say this place has some good lamb riblets. Definitely a must get we had to get a second order of it. Service was good. Just a little dark inside especially if you are in the corner. But other than that I'd keep coming back just for the lamb.
Not a lot of veggie options Appetizers are great but mains
Not a lot of veggie options Appetizers are great but mains are meh, Ravioli was too buttery and full of mushrooms!
Nice food, great service and ambiance.
Went here with a party of 4, sampled few dishes and enjoyed most of them. 1. Karpouzi me feta - rating 4.5/5 Fresh water melon drizzled with olive oil, pine nuts, feta cheese and basic microgreens . Refreshing on a summer day! 2. Spanakopita- rating 4/5 Filo pastry filled with cheese/spinach combo. Much better than many other places I have eaten these at 3. Evvia flatbread - rating 3/5 Least liked by the entire group. Mainly due to overpowering sweet layer of caramelized onions 4. Lamb riblets - rating 4/5 Nice lamb riblets, little greasy for my taste and the flesh itself was a hit or a miss on some pieces it was chewy vs some were not 5. Lamb chops - rating 4.6/5 Medium rare lamb chops. Very well made and seasoned 6. Chicken souvlaki - rating 3.9/5 Grilled chicken, red capsicum and onion skewer with side of salad, tzatziki and potatoes Well made mostly except chicken was a little dry 7. Galaktoboreko - rating 4/5 Filo pastry filled with semolina custard, served with ice cream and crumble. Really nice desert. Ice cream was too sweet as well as the custard for me, but not for couple others on the table. Liked the idea of semolina custard inside the filo pastry.
Fabulous food.
Can't go wrong with any choice. Service is friendly and on point. Great location too
Great ambience, excellent customer service, and delicious
Great ambience, excellent customer service, and delicious food! This is our go to spot for special occasions and lunch dates! This place never disappoints. Highly recommend.
Came here two anniversaries in a row since we loved it so
Came here two anniversaries in a row since we loved it so much! Service is impeccable and the ambiance is lovely. We had Raffaele as our server the second time and he was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu! He even brought out an extra dessert for us for our anniversary. Between the two visits, we ordered: Appetizers: the octopus and taramosolata, both of which were phenomenal. So flavorful Mains: lamb shank, moussaka, lamb skewer, and sole. Both the lamb shank and skewer were stand outs and would easily order again. The moussaka was good, and only the sole was disappointing. It wasn't bad, but was very oily and lacked flavor. Dessert: we've only ever gotten the galaktoboureko because of how good it is. Every bite is mind blowing, need to try item
The food, service and ambiance were superb.
Love the decor of the restaurant. The location and parking were easy. Our waiter was very personal. The owner was very nice and personable. We highly recommend this location. We will be back.
Thanks to Yamila for being the best guide to all the great food!
What a fantastic meal - shout out to Yamila who was the BEST waitress ever - she steered us right every time recommending the best appetizers and main courses. Everything was amazing -personal favorites were the greek salad and almost every appetizer we ordered including the mushrooms. My son had the lamb shank which was a bit fatty but tender and the bartender was AMAZING both for cocktails and for drinks - best dirty martini of all time.
Awesome service, every dish served hot, great time.
The lamb chops is the most popular.
Good food with great ambiance.
I like the octopus the most. The portion is larger than I expected.
Overall, the food is just okay.
Maybe my friends and I got the wrong food, but there wasn't anything stellar about the food. It just tasted like well cooked food, but did not justify the fairly high price points. Complimentary bread - I would have been fine with the bread if it was just warmed up. It was a bit tough to chew. Saghanaki - A fairly strong tasting cheese. Not particularly for me. Calamari - Standard affair of fried calamari. Crispy and delicious. Fried Smelts - Oddly enough, I wished these tasted a bit fishier. Maybe I am too used to the ones from takeout places. Grilled Octopus - While this was delicious, the octopus had a texture that felt slightly powdery and too tender. Sea Bream - It was just okay. The flesh was tender and moist but it was lacking flavor. It could have used extra dressing. The braised greens that came along with the dish were an afterthought. It felt like it was just boiled and dropped onto the plate.
The ambiance of the restaurant is beautiful inside.
The detailed decorations all around is what makes you mesmerized to dine in. However, it is very loud inside and so I selected outdoor seating for a quieter experience. Outside they have heaters to keep you warm and it's. I sky decorated with the white table cloths. The service was decent, the food did take awhile to be prepared and served (25-30 min). Aside from this, the food was nothing to be of "awe." For me, it was nothing spectacular. I ordered the moussaka and it lacked flavor. My date ordered the lamb dish that came with other things in his dish but he only ended up eating the lamb because he said it wasn't as tasty (the other food that came with his dish). The calamari we ordered as an appetizer was "okay." Pacific catch makes better calamari in my opinion. I would not come again, but the place is definitely an aesthetic!
Very good food and nice atmosphere, but auite expensive.
For weekends, you should make a reservation in advance. Service was great; our waiter was super helpful with giving great recommendations. We ordered the Arnisia Paidakia and Ravioli. This place seems to specialize in lamb dishes, but the Ravioli was honestly my favorite entree. Order the Galaktoboureko for dessert! It was definitely the star of the show.

The service was exceptional! All the people in here loved working at the restaurant. We ordered the Octopus salad (DEVINE!), pita pizza, lamb chops and the fish of the day along with the dessert Galaktoboureko which gave baklava a run for its money. The wine pairings that were suggested were impeccable. All in all, it was an amazing anniversary. Would visit again.
(4.8/5) Great ambience, location, and the food. Everything
(4.8/5) Great ambience, location, and the food. Everything was great. Went there for girls' day and we ordered, Octopus, Calamari, Salad, Whole Sea Bass, Roasted Mushroom, and Saghanaki and finished the whole thing. The complimentary bread with olive oil was a great. Loved the vibe and the service was great overall except it was bit harder to find our server and were helped by other servers. Would love to visit this place and recommend the place to friends as well. Oh and their citrus salad is a must try!

Complimentary bread with olive oil is always a great way to start the dinner. The grilled fish was excellent; the catch of the day was sea bass for us. The lamb chops were very tender and the fatty portions of them were juicy. The waiter was very accommodating throughout the night and also sang happy birthday to me! The inside dining area was packed and quite loud so even with a reservation, we sat at the outdoor patio which had wind guards and heaters.

We had the specials on the menu, and everything was excellent. Service was fantastic and dessert was just the cherry on top! They had a butternut squash soup with zero butter in it, and it was phenomenal!
A real treat to stumble upon
Fell upon this place on a Sunday afternoon. We were with a couple with two very young children ( strollers, high chairs). Where some restaurants would just say they were full, we were pleasantly seated outside, where we wanted to be, and enjoyed an excellent lunch. All the dishes we were well prepared and seasoned. Well varied assortment of starters and main dishes. Special kudos for their wine list ( even though they were out of stock of our first choice). Excellent service. A real treat to stumble upon.
Donβt use a dining table as a desk
To the Evvia management team: This is the best restaurant in Palo Alto so I was shocked to be seated right next to a member of your team who had his laptop, landline, notebook, paperwork, and tape dispenser out on a table. He was taking reservation calls 2 feet from my head. Horribly unprofessional. This person knows nothing about how to run a restaurant and to welcome guests to a $100 per person meal.
This was my first time going here and I will be back most likely. The service is good and the food is wonderful.
Evvia is a good place for dinner. The spanikopita ita is flaky and delicious. I loved the ravioli with mushrooms and cheese
Make Reservations
Great greek restaurant downtown Melo Park with 2 parking lots on the street in addition to street parking. There were no reservations available online for the time I was going to be in the area. When I called the gentleman who answered told me to come over and they would probably be able to accommodate me and they did! So glad I got to try it. I had saganaki, my favorite, grilled prawns and roasted branzino (Mediterranean sea bass) my other favorite. The is no cocktail menu but they have a full bar and can make almost anything. For desert, I ordered the cheese cake desert special to go. I think the crust was a crunchy roasted coconut crust and it was topped with strawberry rhubarb reduction drizzle. It was very good the next day for breakfast- hope it gets added to the regular menu. I get why it is ranked so well on TA and highly recommend a visit during your stay in the area.
Flawless Experience, Refined Cooking, Expansive Menu + great Cocktail Program...
We ordered 2 Old Fashions, Greek Salad, Mousaka + Lamb Chops. All artfully presented + deeply flavorful. I could eat here every single night...
Make a reservation!
OMG!!! it's the best, we've been there numerous times n hv NEVER been disappointed. Th octopus is meaty yummy; the steak is always prepared jus the way i like it; the menu selection never disappoints........i've had pork, lamb n fish at one time or another n it's always top notch!. u need to plan ahead n get a reservation!!
Gold Medal!
Well, it being rated the #1 restaurant in Palo Alto explains why Evvia was packed (tho my collegue and I did show up at the top of the lunch hour!). Only complaint are the hefty prices but it's upscale Northern California - why am I surprised? Hostess was charming and squeezed us in at the end of a big family style table. It was fine. Had an Aperol Spritzer at the bar. Yum! We both ordered fish for our lunch with saganaki as an appetizer. All delicious. Service was attentive. There were many things I would have liked to have ordered on the menu so next time I'm in town......
Dinner before a concert
Our meal was close to perfect, starting with a fig pistachio appetizer, then salad and branzino. Ambience snd service were excellent. Wine was great. Dessert was the delicious house specialty - a custard filled pastry. This is a destination restaurant, not to be missed if in Palo Alto.
Very good food and service, felt a little rushed, a bit pricey
We went for our anniversary dinner and really enjoyed the food. We shared two appetizers, one excellent and the other fine but a little small. I had a whole fish dish and my wife had a lamb dish. I found my fish very good but wasn't thrilled with the accompanying vegetable (but I'm not a fan of spinach), she found hers excellent. We also had two desserts, both very good. Service was friendly and despite a full house very quick, but I did feel a little rushed. Price point was a little high but apps, drinks and dessert were in line with other restaurants, only entrees ran high. We were offered our choice of indoor or outdoor seating, but as the indoors was pretty packed we opted for outdoor. Although this was street tent seating they did a very nice job of making it feel very welcoming including lighted plants and trees, etc. It didn't feel 2nd class.
Awesome location, great ambiance, delicious food, really
Awesome location, great ambiance, delicious food, really good customer service! Highly recommend!!
We celebrated our daughters birthday last night here.
There was 12 of us and the food experience was outstanding.I highly recommend this restaurant. Evvia has the best greek food I've ever tasted. We started off with the calamari and mussles for appetizers which were delicious we also had the greek salad the best I've had. For dinner we had the grilled lamb skewers they were cooked good and tender. Five of us had the lamb chops which were cooked to perfection. We had the Moussaka also very good, the flavors were so good, it wasn't dried out. Mom had the halibut which she loved, it was so moist and it came with a delicious sauteed swiss chard. My son had there mesquite grilled rib eye which melted in your mouth. We had the best waiter his name was Hichem, he was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed he also noticed my husband had spilled oil on his shirt so he went and brought him some seltzer water and a lil towel and we didn't even ask for it. All 12 of us loved Evvia if we could we'd give them more stars!! We will be back to eat here again, real soon. We were so into the food that we only took 3 pictures sorry!!
My wife and I had a belated birthday dinner.
We split a bottle of wine and 5 mezze plates. Food, service, and ambience were exceptional. We had the zucchini cakes, octopus, mussels, roasted mushrooms, and lamb riblets. Probably the only non exceptional dish was the octopus. Keep in mind, I prefer octopus with a bit more texture and this was exceptionally tender. The seasoning was great. I kinda sensed the food would be great when I tasted the olive oil and bread. The food certainly did not disappoint. Probably another trip focusing on the mezze plates and then move on to the entrees and salads the trip after.

We enjoyed Evvia so much! We were visiting Palo Alto for my husband's surgery at Stanford. I found this restaurant on yelp, and then I was recommended to it by a relative that lives in the area. Luis was our waiter, so attentive, friendly, and informative. The food was amazing! Highly recommend this restaurant. Thank you Luis for your amazing service and thank you to the restaurant for the beautiful atmosphere and amazing food. We will definitely come back!
Whatever you get, make sure you get a side of Tazitki.
It's the best I've ever had!The breads, meats, wines, everything was perfection. This place completely blew away my expectations!

Reservations are must and if you have the pleasure of getting a reservation you will not regret it. We dined at Evvia with friends for the Hubby's birthday and every single one of us were more than happy with our meal selections. Sadly, I can only say that I had lamb and the Hubby had fish, both dishes were frickin amazing. Beyond that (due to a little too much wine and not enough picture taking) I can only say that the entire table of eight enjoyed dinner from beginning to end. From the ambiance upon walking through the door to the welcoming staff, Evvia will be in regular rotation going forward.
Amazing food and service! Antonio was so attentive and kind.
We shall return :) We had the lamb chops (cooked well perfectly), the prawns, calamari, lamb riblets and for dessert baklava and the OMG highlight of the meal the galaktoboureko (pure delight). Please be sure to book a reservation as even with the recent storms the place was almost packed by 12 and we had a 11:30 am rez.
Love Evvia.
Such great food. The patio is a lovely place to enjoy dining outside. The staff is always very welcoming and one of our favorite places to dine.
Extraordinary menu, but if budget is a concern, just go
Extraordinary menu, but if budget is a concern, just go straight to their avgolemono soup. It is superior to most, as is everything there if you have the scratch to afford it.
Once a year my wife Joyce and I treat ourselves to another
Once a year my wife Joyce and I treat ourselves to another memory-maker meal at this restaurant. This is one of Oprah's favorites when she is in town. Every meal is a memory maker the service is what you would expect at a high-end restaurant very knowledgeable on all the dishes and parings of wines. We have been treating ourselves for five years now it always feels like we have come home to enjoy the very best meal. The atmosphere is very warm and inviting my favorite is the Lamb Shank and for one of the appetizers the Lamb Riblets so tender and flavorful almost melt in your mouth. Worth every $$$
