Absolute recommendation!
Must do! A really great bakery/restaurant with consistently good food. Went here for breakfast/lunch and went back the next day. It's a bit further away from the center, but the taxi ride/30 minute walk is definitely worth it! Really great bread and the lunch dish was also a dream.
Be the first to ReplyFine dining
Their 3 course dinner menu was amazing - actually better than one of Prague's 1 star Michelin restaurants! And the price was almost cheap. The surroundings were a modern factory look, with good subdued lighting and a view of the open kitchen - all very successful. The service was also top notch. The only minus of the experience was that the wine list should be upgraded, with slightly fewer local wines, which (unfortunately) disappointed a little. Overall, a candidate for 1 star in the Micheli guide 😊
Be the first to ReplyVery tasty food
Eska is a bit out of town in the suburbs, a tram will drop you off near by.. The food is very tasty and on par with food in a posh restaurant. When you enter an aroma off warm bread greets you adding to the ambiance, after wards I would recommend a walk round the area as the architecture is lovely and parks that are quite compered to the touristy bits..
Be the first to ReplyQuality food!
We came here for a late lunch and did not regret it. The food was top quality, the breads and brioche truly amazing. Thank you!
Be the first to ReplyFortunately, taste varies.
It was recommended to me as the best, so when I found it not the best, it is a disappointment. I came for dessert and left with dessert. So far so good. The choices were very, very limited. I did not like the industrial settings, feels take eating in a railway terminal. That's just my feeling obviously, as the place was full with people of just one generation. I am few generations in advance, so of course, I know better😃. I will not go again, but that should not stop you to check it out.
Be the first to ReplyTasty and cozy cafe
The atmosphere is super. The bakers are working on one side, the shefs on the other(second layer), the barista and cashier are in the front. Different tastes are possible to smell in the air, with the chefs creating a beautiful plates for any customer.
Be the first to ReplyGreat Michelin recommended spot
We enjoyed this restaurant immensely. The decor and atmosphere were superb, the service great and the food was phenomenal. It was also in a different neighborhood that the most touristic ones which we enjoyed (took an Uber here). Highly recommended!
Be the first to ReplyThe potatoes in ash signature dish is worth the visit
Whilst on a local Czech food tour in Prague, we stopped at Eska for the main dish which was responsible for their Michelin Star, namely the Potatoes in ash buttermilk espuma, smoked fish, kefir, dill, dried egg yolk! It was truly delicious and worth the visit. However, this is a vibey restaurant with fairly loud music which may not appeal to everyone. Downstairs they have a bakery for light meals or takeaways.
Be the first to ReplyGood but definitely not a michelin
I visited Eska April 28th 2023. I was intrigued by this restaurant for it is in the Hipster area of Karlin. Sadly I was a bit disappointed. I will be constructive and concise in my review and hope that my criticism is met with genuine appeal. 🧾As per usual I tried their degustation menu. A five course menu with wine pairings. What made me unsatisfied with this place was their michelin star rating. Eska is s very arsty and future thinking restaurant , but for those travelling across for the Michelin guide this restaurant sadly in my opinion as of now does not deserve its star of maybe has lost its charm since 2020. They also do not provide a written detailed view of the 5 course menu 🏙️The scenery is more akin to a public cafeteria. It has no sense of luxury. Understandably with their humble prices , there were many families with screaming babies which really didnt add to the ambience considering the open space lay out. I would say that this is more of a nicer student dinner with friends , but still I would recommend other places more. ❌ 1. A big miscommunication in the fact that we wated 30 minutes before even receiving our amuse bouche. It left me very cranky and dissatisfied. After asking politely the waiter told us he assumed that we wanted to finish our gin and tonics first but 2. They did not chance out the cutlery between the bread with butter and the starter / did not provide a butter knife. 3. No hand towels for the amuse bouche. 4. Bathrooms quite unclean 5. Wine fail! 6. When asked for water they did not ask for sparkling or still and better yet gave tap water For my criticisms please note that i am only trying to be constructive and understand that this level of snobbyness is excessive, but if one has a michelin star it must be there for a reason. Drinks 🍸- I tried a classic gin and tonic whilst we waited for our menu to be prepped. It was tasty. Interesting choice to add kopr and radishes in , but i was not out of flavor Wine pairings- The wine pairings for their humble price are quite nice. Especially the black currant wine pairing for the dessert. ❌Though they did serve me the wine in completely wrong glasses. They served white in a wide aroma collector ,the red in flutes and the “orange fruit wine” in a large domed glass. Such a blunder at a Michelin star especially even with a kind person explaining the flavor notes was a big shock for me. Bread 🥖 - The bread was alright, just very very un-amusing. 0️⃣ Amuse bouche - Half a radish with a spit pf green purée on top. It was truly just eating half a radish. At first i thought it was some sort of satire , but sadly no. 1️⃣First course - The first course was a salmon tartare/ sashimi with some cherry sauce and mint. Now i will say it is definitely creative with the cherries. But overall quite forgettable. Not bad though 2️⃣Second course - “sekaná” with an egg yolk emulsion. This really saddened me. It remind me more of a random czech pub on the street. The “emulsion” was more of a cream. I would go on, but at this point i assumed that the chef was just having a very hard day. 3️⃣Third course - was the Eska potato special. This one I actually loved. They added a bit of salmon into the middle with baked potatoes in creamy emulsion and thyme. I enjoyed this course. A good comeback after the cynical start. 4️⃣Fourth main course - Steak with white asparagus. This course was also very nice. It had a flavor packed sauce and a point to make was that the meat was veerry chewy. But in a good way. This steak was not trying to be fois gras or Korean barbecue , just a classic check steak that paired very well with the red wine. 5️⃣Fifth course - Chocolate ice cream with black currant and a dash of matcha. This dessert was delectable, dare I say innovative. At first I was a bit disappointed at the idea that there would be no desert wine. Instead we got a very fruity black currant wine , but to my surprise it paired and balanced perfectly. This is one one my new favorites for ice cream dishes. 6️⃣ Lastly a parting gift of profiteroles. Exceptional flavor palette and rich vanilla flavor. A good way to end off the menu. 🕰️Overall review - Eska isn’t a “bad restaurant” by contrast actually quite good. I would call it more an innovative restaurant. And if the start and scenery weren’t so bad they would have received a higher rating. This place is Not a Michelin star restaurant at least for now. But where there is mistakes theres room for improvement and space to make it amazing and restore it to its possibly former glory. 🤵🏻- I would like to thank our waiters daniel and our wine expert sebastian.
Be the first to Replyvery good option for brunch
Eska is some distance away from the touristic areas, and it shows. A far more local crowd, and overall more relaxed. Its nevertheless easy to reach with public transport, and wroth a trip, and it was worth it. A nice combination of standard options and dishes with original twist (pork sausage with miso, for example). Also original drinks (elderflower and cucumber fermented drink, very nice). They also bake their own bread, and service was very friendly.

We recently came to Eska for brunch. Very modern and stylish interior in a nice setting. However the food was average and everything sadly tasted bland (we ate the egg fried bread). Service was a real let down. The waiter seemed very reluctant to help and unfortunately had a bit of a bad attitude - had he been more helpful, I think we would have selected a meal more to our taste. However best chai latte in Prague, and the bread was very lovely. One of us had the omelette which was very good and a safe bet!

Industrial and minimalist diner offering great inventive food correctly priced. Good Czech wines. Service is very friendly. Believe the chef has a great future
Be the first to ReplyExcellent lunch
Lovely modern restauant and bakery tucked away in Karlin. The decor is very open and industrial, which means you can watch the chefs and bakers at work. The food is simple and complex at the same time. Delicious. The service is excellent. Well worth seeking out.
Be the first to ReplyFine brunch
Fine breakfast. The breakfast Eska is best if you eat meat, choose The scrambled eggs and toast for vegetarian. Great yoghurt! Bad hot “chocolate”.

Exciting and unique menu, sophisticated ingredients and cleverly prepared dishes. All looked interesting and appetising. We were excited to try it all, the unique ingredients worked really well. I would definitely recommend this place. Would visit again while in Prague.
Be the first to ReplyA unique breakfast experience
I went for a breakfast, and really enjoyed the environment as well as a great non conventional brunch. A very good experience.
Be the first to ReplyFantastic, fresh, and friendly.
Fantastic, fresh, and friendly. This restaurant was recommended to us by our tour guide and it definitely didn’t disappoint. It’s worth the trip outside of the touristy area for the locals’ vibe. The food was fantastic. The staff and food were very purposeful.
Be the first to ReplyBreakfast with a modern twist
Eska is one of the hot spots on a culinary map of Prague. It is one of that places you will like at first sight. Spacious, modern interiors, industrial vibe, open kitchen, and delicious food - everything under one roof. I ordered Breakfast Eska, which consists of grilled pork sausages, poached egg, and an unexpected ingredient - miso. It was a tasty combination with the presentation that matched the taste. The bread was fabulous, moist, tender, served with homemade salted butter. The chocolate cake was a cherry on top and made me even more satisfied. A place worth visiting!
Be the first to ReplyWonderful place
I was on a trip with my girlfriend and visited this wonderful place. The food surprised me a lot. It's worth coming even if you're not around.
Be the first to ReplyNice
Nice but the first wine that came with the beef tartar tasted like a barn and their signature dish was not very nice which was a bit sad
Be the first to ReplyDissapointed
Dissapointed in the end.
It all started well with a nice cocktail, good food and lovely bread. Wines were a bit funky but OK. However, in the end the dessert was awful and paired with a really bad sparkling wine (acidic and smelly). The biggest disappointment was the coffee which was contaminated with an acidic/salty taste (probably after cleaning the machine....) The sommelier did her best and was kind...but in my opinion this restaurant is not star worthy. Will not go here again. I'm sorry.
Excellent
Excellent restaurant with very good food based on czech traditional ingredients. The wines are all naturalo wines.
Be the first to ReplyWe had a great experience
We had a great experience with the 5 course menu and wine pairings for approx 65 EUR. Lovely food with a vegetarian focus (not all dishes were veggie but most were). Special combinations of flavours and many natural ingredients used. Great service and staff.
The building is also very nice with some industrial influences.
