Elio's New York Reviews from The Last Year
Worst service and Italian food I have had in NY.
Would sooner buy a pizza off the street than waste time and money at this place. Stay away! !

Food was quite good (lasagna bolognese, linguine with clams) but def not life-changing and these prices are catastrophic. $46 for two desserts, decaf coffee and tea. $25 for a glass of Montepulciano. $8 FOR A CAN OF CLUB SODA. I am sorry but that is not ok. The worst is I feel tricked bc the waiter said they don't have a list of wines by the glass but he could tell me what they had. I ordered the Montepulciano not thinking they would charge DOUBLE the going rate for a glass of this red wine in NYC. Very disappointed and soured what should have been a happy birthday meal.

Just the most delicious chicken parm ever - and such wonderful service. Is it expensive? Yes. But it never disappoints. Ever.

The only reason I could imagine that Elio's gets a lower rating here is the bill, but let me tell you something, a good meal at a fine wonderful establishment, with great service is well worth it. I was let down that their Scarpariello isn't made with seemingly any ingredients, but I'm glad I asked.... I almost ordered completely wrong. It actually really really bothers me that most places make Scarpariello.... Incorrectly in my opinion. I digress; the stuffed veal was absolutely fantastic. The homemade guitar string pasta (I forget what it was in Italian) was also quite fantastic. The sourdough they served should have been warm, but again, so delicious! The drinks were okay and overpriced so just skip that part and save on the bill. Very nice night

Amazing food! We had the butternut squash pasta and the clams - both dishes were beautiful. Possibly the best clams I've ever had. However, we felt rushed by the waiter.
Entering the restaurant there isn't a host stand.
Immediately one of the bartenders stated " go to the manager. " The Food was mediocre, my mate ordered Chicken parmesan it was very dry, served with a side of green beans. The atmosphere was uncomfortable should've been a sign on the door that read " whites only ".
overrated
elio's may truly be one of the most overrated italian restaurants in the city - service is fine but the food is not very good at all- every time I visit, I want it to be better, and it's just not.
Old school New York Italian.
Packed every night from what I hear, this is a go-to for upper east siders. Extensive pasta menu and interesting appetizers. Yet, I chose the chicken parm bc that's what I always do. No regrets, it was delicious.

After the manager gave me a hug I have nothing bad to say about this astonishing establishment! Gem
The food is good.
Solid pastas, soups, chicken parm. Simple but effective Italian. There are also dozens of other Italian restaurants in NY with similar or better food. On this Sunday night, the restaurant was packed. (Good for them?) But I don't just mean busy. I mean dangerously packed. I mean this place was a terrifying fire hazard. Getting up and having to go anywhere was like pushing through the pit at a concert. The chairs were basically on top of each other. And the service? At the table it was fine. A little brusque, but the food came out fast. But when trying to go to the bathroom or exit (what a concept!) the staff would come barreling through with hot plates and no concern for anyone else. They'd basically side tackled the guests to get to wherever they needed to go. No apology. No graciousness. It was not only rude but painful. A waiter hit my head with a plate and when I spoke up he said quiet, I'm trying to work. And then walked away. I wasn't thrilled. Whatever they have going on is working - the place was packed, as I said. But you couldn't pay me to come back - and the FDNY might want to check this place out. There's no way their seating arrangements and the amount of bodies they shoved into a small space was legal.
I ordered a bow tie pasta with ricotta cheese.
There was less than a small spoon of pasta in the center and the pasta was over cooked for $33! Salad was very mediocre that cost $25 I would never go back. Very very expensive for nothing.
Great Classic on the Upper East Side
Great Upper East Side classic, always willing to please and still magnificent, if pricey. Eliot’s now accepts credit cards, because I recall it accepted only cash back a decade or so before. The bar is excellent for a drink or a meal and the atmosphere is warm and traditional. Waiters and the kitchen happily make accommodations for differing tastes or diets.

Two sided marketplaces need growth on both sides, so this is wonderful to read!
