Eddie Merlot's Boston Reviews from The Last Year
Food was fresh and good.
Got the salmon. Had to send it back to cook it more well done. It could've been seasoned more but it wasn't bad .The pecan sweet potatoes casserole was A+. Yummy. The crab cakes were perfect yummy A+ on those. The fingerling potatoes & asparagus were normal, not bad .. The drinks were really good martini and mojitos were really sweet. I don't know if the bbq sauce on shrimp is a good move. The bacon should be well done wrapped around shrimp. Just my opinion. The service was A+. Great ambiance & a mix of neo soul & jazz music. The staff could be less inconspicuous walking. Around staring at u and the table to see if they can take your plate when ur done. Lol. Like they were following u around a store . But they were all nice and it wasn't packed so maybe they were just trying to keep busy.
I dined here for a birthday outing.
The cedar plank sixty south salmon was delicious. The Caesar salad was very fresh. The creme brulee was also delicious. I ordered two drinks the blue berry mojito and rose punch. The rose punch was my favorite of the two. The service was very nice. We went on a Tuesday night so it wasn't busy at all which allowed for a quiet evening. We had a single window facing table as well which made for a great atmosphere. Definitely recommend. Eddie Merlot lives up to the hype indeed.

As it is with Burlington MA and Englewood, CO locations, the food was impeccable. The sashimi was like butter and we had the Branzino and Baked Stuffed Shrimp- both were delicious. My one issue and biggest pet peeve is assuming my husband was paying when returning my credit card and putting it in front of him - look at the name and don't assume.
Very upscale restaurant with a variety of dishes.
Quite expensive, but I was able to get a small filet with crab meat and grilled shrimp with a salad for $42. Our waiter was so kind and attentive.

"I had an amazing experience with this restaurant last night! The customer service was top-notch, and the food exceeded my expectations. The manager came to my table twice to have a true connection. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a fine dining experience."

Went for Easter brunch, everything was well coordinated from buffet set up, food and service. The manager was greeting all tables making them feel like family.
Perfect fine, very reasonably priced steakhouse here in
Perfect fine, very reasonably priced steakhouse here in Boston. I was a little disappointed to not see any local options on the menu given that Boston is known as a seafood town. I had the Mojo Scallops &!Shrimp and it was cooked well and had a lot of flavor. Steaks that colleagues ordered looked good and were said to be good. The peanut butter cup dessert was not particularly sweet. Service was very good, of the stealthy and non-obtrusive variety which was perfect for our business meeting; thanks Koa! Ambience was very normal for a steakhouse, though the seats were shockingly rigid and upright in a way that felt downright unpleasant, like I was sitting in a church pew that had some padding. Maybe I have just been to a few too many high end steakhouses recently, but this place was good but nothing jumped off the menu at me as "you must try this!" or really blew my mind, but it was still really good for the category and did everything right. Sonny did an amazing job! Food was good but could've been better. I am giving the five stars for the waiter, Sonny's amazing job!
The waiter was incredibly incompetent.
It took MULTIPLE reminders to the waiter for water, bread and LITERALLY everything! It took 45 mins for the drinks after even going up to the bar to ask after multiple requests and then he dropped and broke the glasses and we had to wait longer. He interrupted when someone in the party was ordering. While the manager tried being helpful, I expect more than just promising a free drink if we were to come back this week, as if I would want to come back since our whole experience was ruined. At least comp us some apps. The food was good but I feel bad for the chef for being so poorly represented.
Eddie Merlot's in Boston exceeded expectations, especially
Eddie Merlot's in Boston exceeded expectations, especially thanks to Taylor's exceptional assistance in planning a large event on short notice. Taylor's professionalism and efficiency made the process seamless. The attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction were truly impressive. Highly recommend for both the venue and Taylor's outstanding service.
Damani was fantastic! Super attentive, made perfect
Damani was fantastic! Super attentive, made perfect martinis, and was very helpful. Food was fine overall. Sat at a table near the kitchen - kitchen was SO loud. It sounded like there was a sporting event happening inside with all the yelling and laughing - not the level of professionalism I'd expect from a steakhouse.
Great martinis and bar environment.
Be sure to see Damani at the bar, first class service and top notch cocktails.
Skip unless it's the only option
Experience started off so strong, I was so relieved all the reviews I had read were going to be wrong. We made a reservation three days before because it was one of the only restaurants available on a Thursday night. Unfortunately about half way through dinner, the experience went sharply and drastically downhill. Wine service was fast and house cab was good. Appetizers came out so fast, we were worried absolutely dinner coming out too soon. But the waiter paced the dinner perfectly and steaks arrived about 15 minutes after the apps. Unfortunately the wagyu ribeye arrived rare, almost purple, and we had ordered medium rare. No big deal, asked to have to cooked a few minutes more and waiter appeared fine with the request. Manager came back out with the steak and all was good... except we were then ignored almost completely for the next 30 minute. Ended up having to pay out bill at the hostess station. Meal was ok but for the price I expected way better everything. Would recommend skipping this restaurant unfortunately.
No wonder this was the only reservation available in the area
We returned from an all-day tour of Martha's Vineyard, and our two couples needed a place for dinner. After over a dozen calls, this was the only place where we could get a table. It didn't take long to understand why. The service was snobbish. There were hidden charges for everything, including water. The food was not equitable to the prices. We would eat fast food before returning.
Very Classy and Delicious
I was a bit nervous to go because the reviews but they are wrong. Place has great ambiance and comfortable seating. Highly recommend reservations. Seated immediately. Service was top notch. Waitress (Crystal) was excellent. Food was really good and prices reasonable. Recommend the Sea Bass. Desert is a show if you order the Banana's Foster. Crystal makes it right at the table. Fun and tasty too.
Nice meal
While staying right across the street from here and per the concierge’s suggestion, we met friends here for dinner. It was a Wednesday night and they weren’t very crowded, we had the the place to ourselves around 6 PM. It got much busier by 7 PM. Service was very good, drinks were quite nice and refilled often. It was comfortable so we had a nice leisurely meal with friends which lasted a few hours. The food was very good and cooked perfectly. I had the Yellowfin Tuna, my wife had a filet with a stuffed baked potato about the size of Rhode Island. We would definitely recommend Eddie Merlot’s if you find yourself in the area. I see that they have several locations in several states, but I would not consider this a chain restaurant.
Great good/Mediocre Service
Food was delicious but very expensive. Look out for the hidden fees like no free water - $6.50 per bottle (only found this out when we received the check). No separate checks for large parties (we had 9 and only found this out when we received check even though server told us we would have individual checks)and 20% gratuities added. Also special of the night was surf and turf but we were charged separately for the steak (turf) and lobster (surf) for a total of $104! Service was just mediocre and we were the only ones in the restaurant. Even though food was outstanding, I would not go back for the above reasons.
Mickey Mouse appears during dinner.
The place got miceand the staff is so well aware of it. The food was dry. The waiter had 0 to none personality, while the manager acted like nice running around during dinner was no big deal.
Anniversary weekend
Husband and I went here for an early anniversary dinner while in Boston. The ambience is wonderful- very upscale but not snooty. No uppity dress code. However, it comes with an expensive price tag - totally worth it. We had the fried shrimp appetizer- I forget the name- it was delicious. Our drinks were great. We ordered the steak dinner for 2-Our steak was cooked to perfection. Our waiter was so polite and helpful ( I don’t remember his name). I didn’t realize this was a chain restaurant until I started this review as we try to support local businesses wherever we go. However, I’d definitely eat here again.

Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
