Rob’s On Halsted
10/5. One word: ROB!!! Rob is amazing. I had a work event with some co workers and clients I have been trying to get together for months. It’s hard finding accommodations in the neighborhood without having to buy a drink package or minimum spend. Rob went above and beyond getting us the entire patio to ourselves and the service was impeccable. We stayed there for hours!! The food and drinks were flowing, the weather was perfect, the vibes and atmosphere were so unique. The patio is an amazing hidden gem. Rob should own the place, in our opinion. Everyone loves him. Thank you, again, Rob. I messed up some math on the bill (after too much Prosecco) and he was very helpful with fixing for me. We love Drew’s (aka Rob’s)! See you again, soon!

This is one of the best meals we had in Chicago, hostess and wait staff were excellent, food was delicious and affordable, bacon wrapped dates highly recommend. Everyone in our party of 8 love their food.

We went there for our first night’s dinner in Chicago. We enjoyed our apps: butternut squash Ravioli and bbq chicken pizza. The bread under the toppings was a Littie bland but overall very good. My Cajun pasta was delish and my friend Loved her red and white quinoa salad. Rob was a great server: attentive and friendly. A singer with a very good voice sang some popular favorites, but it didn’t interfere with conversation. I would definitely go back if I lived here.

This place is awesome! The staff were so friendly and warm, and the food was delicious. I have absolutely no complaints and if I wasn’t going home tomorrow, I’d be back for more. Highly recommend 👏

Drew's is quickly becoming one of my favorite places to dine when visiting Chicago. I would describe the atmosphere as casual elegance. The food is delicious with a wide variety of options and price ranges. The live pianist complements the atmosphere and is not intrusive. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Upon our last visit, we left feeling like we had made new friends. I recommend making a reservation. Will definitely be back.

Drew’s is a must for us on our annual visits to Chicago. Everything about our dining experience there has always been exceptional! The food is perfectly prepared and delicious, and the service beyond remarkable. Thank you to Rob, a true professional, and to Drew & your entire staff for your gracious hospitality. We can’t wait to return.

We were in the area and getting hungry so we stepped into Drew's without a reservation (I assume they take reservations, I don't know for sure). We were quickly greeted and seated at the table of our choice. It was only moderately busy as there was no show that night - they have a piano and have some kind of entertainment at times. The atmosphere is pleasant though a bit loud, which is common in most modern restaurants. The menu presented a nice selection of options with a separate short list of specials as well and a martini list. I chose the cucumber mint gimlet which was so-so - light but with little flavor. Hubby chose the French Amour martini which was quite good. We had the calamari from the special menu for starter. The breading had a nice spice which I don't normally see with calamari. My first piece was just a tad rubbery though most of the remaining pieces that I ate had a good texture. I ordered the Halsted burner with no bun. It came with very, very, very crispy bacon (but not burned) - I found that amusing. I order it medium but it was served medium-well (zero pink inside). I was too hungry to argue about it, and I'm never that overwhelmingly picky about my meat. I also ordered the parmesan truffle fries, but I think I got the regular fries - there was nothing parmsan-y or truffle-y about these! Hubby ordered a "classic Caesar" salad with salmon on it. The salmon was nicely cooked, but the salad was dressed with a balsamic vinegar dressing. We found ourselves wondering what was "classic" about a caesar sals that did not have the usual creamy dressing! Service was the real weak link. It turns out our table server was apparently the bartender for a bar with no open seats, so everything moved in slow motion for us. Mind you, I don't mind having a table for an evening and drawing out a meal, but that still requires occasional attention from the server to keep things moving along. I have to wonder if they were short staffed as so many places are today, so I am giving them a little benefit of the doubt on that aspect, but I would have preferred that they acknowledge this to us rather than just let us sit and simmer. My final criteria for any place is would I go there again. I think I might eat at Drew's again, but I am not won over. I guess it would have to be on the invitation of others or the only decent place open - which is unlikely.

visiting Chicago from the UK for the weekend, spur of the moment decision to dine here and so glad we did, super friendly staff, food was amazing, entertainment by the beaus was just the best, the beers kept coming, so what’s not to love. Would definitely return, thanks guys

We went here before going to the Blue Man Group show (just along the road). We were lucky to get a table without booking beforehand. When we arrived the restaurant was relatively empty, but it soon filled up. I had crab cakes with an egg on a brioche. My friend had a toasties with soup. We were happy with our food. I was delighted to find that they did Porn Star Martini Cocktails - the side of prosecco was large! All very good

Drew welcomed us like family! Great atmosphere. Wonderful bar. The “girls just want to have rum” is a delicious drink. We had the charcuterie board and one of each burger. The food is exceptional. Don’t miss out on the truffle fries. Highly recommend.
