This was the worst stay in NYC I have ever had.
We checked in/dropped our bags off at 10 am and asked for them to call us when it was ready. Check in was at 3 pm at 245 we called and asked if it was ready only to be met by severe attitude by some woman who refused to give us her name. We arrive at the hotel a little past 3 and get into the elevator IT GOT STUCK. There was a housekeeper on the elevator and she looked scared. She pressed a button and immediately made us get off on floor 9. We waited 30 minutes for the other elevator to reach floor 9. When it finally came and we got to our room with all of our luggage the room keys didn't work. We then had to go back in the unsafe elevators with the luggage back down to the front desk to get new keys. By the time we got settled into the room we had to hurry up and get ready as we had dinner reservations at 530. When we spoke to management it was as if they didn't care. I also asked for another luggage rack to which i ended up having to go to the front desk myself because they never brought it up. They didn't do anything to rectify the situation and it was my best friends bday. The bathroom did not have any ventilation. Do not stay here the hotel is not safe. The staff is rude and the bar downstairs is closed with the bowling alley. The rooms do not look like the pictures and it is mediocre at best. I'd give zero stars if I could..

I went to the Dream Midtown over New Years 2023. I told them in advance (by phone) that I'm afraid of heights and can't sleep above the fourth floor. They promised me a room on the second floor ("facing the street, but still quiet"). When I arrived I found I was on the sixth floor. My partner (who had arrived earlier) said there were no other rooms, so I took some anxiety medication and made do. Later we changed floors. Still, other services were lacking. Like they didn't know what TV channels we got (the screen menus didn't sync up), WiFi was very spotty, and service technicians simply didn't come to fix things when they said they would. Not cool, especially being forced to sleep on the sixth floor with acrophobia.

Thin walls- lots of street noise (I know it's NY, but, this is a result of poor insulation and not the city's fault). Elevators are suuuuuuper slow. Otherwise, staff was friendly and location is great for doing all the touristy stuff.

They only reason we stayed here was for the bowling and game room which we were told has been permanently closed to guests. They shouldn't keep advertising it. Our room was so small we couldn't open our suitcases on the floor. It smelled like sewage in our room at night. The staff was very nice.
Be the first to ReplyAbsolute rudest staff I've encountered in New York City.
I was recently there for an event. I was yelled at by two staff members before even entering the elevator. I did not follow the unexplained protocol to get a wrist band. If I did not HAVE to be there for work, I would have left. I will never go back or recommend to ANYONE.

Location is absolutely perfect. Walking distance to everything. Yes rooms are small no big deal to us we didn't stay in rooms other than to sleep. Comfy beds clean bathrooms other than the step to the bathroom which at first you keep tripping and the fridge not cold, we enjoyed our stay! The roof top bar was also great! Driver service to hotel was perfect also.

That's it. CONs: rooms are tiny, there's an odd step to the bathroom (stubbed my toe every time), expensive yet feels dirty, walls are thin -- yeah, you should expect to hear some NYC traffic, but be prepared to wake up at all hours of the night because it sounds like you're sleeping on the street and you can hear every word when someone is talking in the hallway. half of the lights didn't work, the elevators are smaller than a fitting room and are extremely slow. I'd pay $100 a night here, not $400-$500. Highway robbery.

The staff was sooo kind and welcoming. Really kind employees. The room was good. The decor was dated but still comfy. Great AC. Honestly not much to complain about.

this hotel is good for maybe partying but not traveling and having a nice stay. lets get to it. upon arrival, no menu for room service, when i called to ask for one/if there was room service, the phone in my room didn't work. i spoke with the manager about fixing the phone and also bringing a menu to my room. i end up going to the lobby, grabbing the menu myself and asking the manager to look at my room because i didn't feel it was prepped properly. everything looked good. great. time to go to bed. turn off the lights. go to shut the blinds. NO BLINDS! JUST BRIGHT LIGHTS SHINING IN MY ROOM! i go downstairs, ask are there supposed to be shades/blinds and the man says he doesn't know. but offers a double room. i ask if they have blinds - but then he goes. BUT YOU HAVE TO SWITCH ROOMS SATURDAY. so, i have to be inconvenienced because theres no blinds in my room? i have to be the one shuffling around?no thanks. so i guess i have to wait until tmrw to get this situation squared away. the point is, these people lack the care and concern for people who just want peaceful travel for their stressful lives while traveling on business. now i'm stressed out because i would like to sleep and it's hard. NOT A DREAM HOTEL. MORE LIKE NIGHTMARE HOTEL.

Room was fine and exactly what we expected. Continental breakfast included was a nice surprise.
