Drake's Dallas Reviews from The Last Year
We love it here and recommend coming here for every fun
We love it here and recommend coming here for every fun occasion! It gives us a reason to dress up and feel classy. Everyone should come here!
Must try for Dallas!! Ambiance is probably the best I've
Must try for Dallas!! Ambiance is probably the best I've been to. I felt like the bartender wasn't excited to help us at first. After ordering a bottle of wine and a steak I got way more attention. He never let my glass go empty. The steak was phenomenal. Probably the thickest NY strip I've ever had. Had one of the best sears I've had. The creamed spinach was delicious. It was cool how all people behind the bar would talk to you. My fancy go to spot for Dallas for sure!!!
My food was good and surprisingly gigantic portions.
It's a very interesting ambience that they put together in the restaurant so I would love to stay there, but I feel the service was extremely rushed. We were there 530 on a Saturday night and people that work there seem nice enough so it's really not their fault. It's just a busy place.it's cool. I wish it was a little slower paste and not so rushed. But I was with a group of six and that might've made this part of the experience that I felt. I would definitely go back.
Atmosphere: This is possibly the biggest reason to go here.
Inspired by the 20s-50s speakeasy vibe with nothing but singers and standards playing over the stereo. Plenty of Old Blue Eyes, Dino, and some well chosen flapper music. The sounds of people cutting steak on porcelain plates and sipping martinis reverberates throughout the restaurant. 1 Star Service: I'll just say that Sebastian killed it. Knowledgeable on the menu, accurate on his suggestions, and just down to earth and chatty. He made a couple of different substitution suggestions that were perfect. 2 Stars Food: Two of our party started with drinks, the Gold Rush (he stated it was the best cocktail he has ever had) and the Spicy Mexican which had a phenomenal kick and smooth finish. We grabbed some Crab Rangoons as an appetizer and they were fantastic. Nice and crispy on the outside with a gooey crab filling in the middle. We ordered the Honey Truffle Chicken, the Pasta Za Za, the Lobster Capellini, and Shep's Hawaiian Ribeye. It would be a disservice to the others to choose a favorite. They were all soooo good. I'd go into details, but there was nothing lacking in a single dish. Each was delicious. 2 Stars Overall: We will definitely go back, even if only for the ambience, it's that good. Highly recommended.
I visited Drake's Dallas for a birthday dinner and I
I visited Drake's Dallas for a birthday dinner and I couldn't have had a better night. The atmosphere inside of Drake's gives upscale old Hollywood. The restaurant is lined with beautiful paintings of musicians and people having good time. The staff were very knowledgeable about the menu and provided us with great customer service. I ordered the scampi crab claws, shrimp, Mac, mashed potatoes, filet mignon and wontons. The food was perfectly prepared and delicious. I highly recommend Drake's. Enjoy!
I love this place.
Got to vist this passed weekend. The food is amazing. Great atmosphere and the service is outstanding. Will definitely be sharing this spot with my pilot friends. Dallas rocks
Probably the best steakhouse I've ever been to! And I've
Probably the best steakhouse I've ever been to! And I've been to Smith & Wollenskys, Morton's, Wolfgang Pucks and Del Monico. The flavor and seasoning on this food nothing compares. I couldn't stop eating it and was sad when I became full. Me and my husband shared Shep's Hawaiian Steak, Royal Creamed Spinach and Loaded Baked Potatoes with Strawberry Cake to celebrate his birthday. The restaurant is more smaller and cozy than what's on Tik Tok but I loved it. It had an old Hollywood feel with plush seating booths and murals of celebs. Worth dressing up and eating good. Can't wait to go again. And I would making a reservation for weekend. They were booked but luckily someone cancelled so they sat us.
The ambiance is there it's giving date night/birthday
The ambiance is there it's giving date night/birthday dinner or even a night out with friends. Happy hour is pretty cool the filet mignone Pizza is delicious. The service was good too. I recommend this place.
The entire experience was super lovely and our waitress
The entire experience was super lovely and our waitress Mickey was probably the best server I've ever had. She literally anticipated everything and was just the absolute kindest sweetest girl. The food was extremely good and I definitely think the menu is unique in comparison to other high end restaurants in Dallas. I saw a review from a "food critic" asking if the good reviews were being paid, but I think he's just dramatic. Nothing about this place is bad and I didn't have one item that I hated or thought was overpriced. It's very nice inside and the live music was a plus. Did some parts of the mural make me giggle? Yes, because while I appreciate a good setting, some of it was humorous, and what is life without a bit of humor? I would come back and I would recommend it. Thank you to everyone here for making our 6th anniversary special.
Very quaint.
Ambience consists of old Hollywood aesthetics: dimly lit, jazz music, low ceilings, red theme. The service was quick and our server was nice and attentive. Came here to celebrate a milestone in my sister's career. We got the following items: Appetizers: - SPICY SALMON CRISPY RICE: Were going to get the hamachi ponzu, since that's a favorite of ours, but glad we didn't because we get that everywhere. This was my favorite item of the night. The salmon simply melted in your mouth. - VIN SCULLY FRIES: Got this without bacon. Definitely not your average run-of-the-mill fries. The cheese was rich and flavorful. Entrees: - Dry-aged demonico: ordered it medium rare, but felt the temperature was closer to medium. I also thought the char made it slightly salty. Was told this would be very tender, but unfortunately it wasn't. - Shep's Hawaiian ribeye: wife ordered this medium, but the temp was closer to medium rare - which worked for me, but was alright for her. This was flavorful and if I came back, would get this instead. Edit: wife also mentioned that the ginger marmalade was great. However, the ginger was strong, so if that's something you're iffy about, steer clear. - Ozzy's: mom and sister shared this pizza. Since we do not eat pork, we got it without the onion jam. I saw a lot of rave reviews about this pizza, but I do not get the hype. Maybe it's because we didn't get the onion jam. Aside from the pieces of filet, this felt like something I could get from fireside pies at half the price. Sides: - Chili garlic broccolini: AKA regular broccolini. Could not taste the chili garlic. - Cauliflower dynamite: good. Dessert: - Jojo's strawberry layer cake: the way it was cut, made it to where we gave my sister the piece with all the icing - deservedly so. However, that left us with pieces with minimal icing. Without which, the cake felt very dry and NOT sponge like. Would not recommend. For upscale restaurants, given the amount of money paid, I expect food that is not only unique, but also extremely flavorful and interesting. Something that truly challenges my palette and consists of varying flavors. Unfortunately, Drake's did not deliver in that aforementioned regard. Disclaimer: I have extremely high hopes for upscale restaurants. Having been to places like Nick & Sam's(Dallas) and Saison(San Francisco), I know the heights fine dining can reach and hope to be treated with similar experiences whenever I visit similar places. Unfortunately Yelp does not allow half star ratings, so I will have to round down to a 3.
Decided to have a Girls' Night at Drake's as we were
Decided to have a Girls' Night at Drake's as we were wanting that old Hollywood vibe. They offer valet as there's limited street parking (there was a wait to park and pick up your vehicle as they only had two people working). You're able to wait at the bar (open seating, no RSVP needed) when waiting on your full party to arrive. They definitely don't honor the dress code as people were in there with all types of outfits on. Our waitress was nice but we felt super rushed to eat and drink. I ordered the Snow Crab Scampi and Caesar salad. I did enjoy both items and the salad is plenty to share. For my entree, I ordered the Pasta ZaZa (added chicken). The pasta was good but the chicken was dry and the food came out lukewarm. I did try my friend's Vin Scully Fries and enjoyed that. Strawberry lemon drops were my drink of choice that night and the bartender made it wonderfully! This spot definitely wasn't what I expected but it was worth the try!
First of all I do not understand the reason of so many
First of all I do not understand the reason of so many mentions of dress code if everybody is let in regardless of what they are wearing. Maybe it is done just to make this place sound very upscaley Second: service- place is busy and staff is running around but because of that everything is super rushed and messy. Third: valet, not that I will visit again but next time I'd park in the street rather than using complimentary valet And lastly food, definitely nothing special and was not to my tasting. Cocktails were okay. Everything is way overpriced for what it actually is. I do not recommend. I was hoping for old Hollywood type of place but vibe is not there at all
Upscale and Colorful! The greeting of hostess was very
Upscale and Colorful! The greeting of hostess was very friendly and nice as as well as the sever. In Dallas for a birthday celebration, of course not mine. However, this was the location chosen to eat. The dish that I experienced was exceptionally tasteful and consumed with happiness. It was not something not on the menu and crafted by the cook. Spinach, Cauliflower and Asparagus in a red sauce. Well done! The live music was great and added that touch of flare, slight jazzy and history rich music. Although, I have to questions the volume, because the noise level of conversations were loud, so normal toned conversations and repeated statements was necessary. The lighting, decor and artwork were exactly that artsy. My only shortcoming of this restaurant is not having much of a Vegan selection in 2024. Overall it was a very good experience. Until the next time, Bye-Bye!
This was an amazing experience! My friends and I came on
This was an amazing experience! My friends and I came on Friday night and enjoyed all the food and drinks until we were stuffed. I had the snow crab claws, lobster mac, and honey truffle chicken. I would order that everytime and to go if they did door dash! While my drink was good i wish they garnished it with a lemon or strawberry or even a flower. It was just a sugar rim. The service was excellent and efficient. We did crowd in the waiting room but it was fine. The inside was very nice, I think they play live music but on this day they had a dj. Overall would recommend if you want to go out and have a good time. The servers don't rush you through either!
First time here for my birthday dinner and it did NOT
First time here for my birthday dinner and it did NOT disappoint!! This place is a bit on the high end $$ but worth the experience! Everything we ordered were really good! Our server was super friendly! We ordered salmon crispy rice and loaded fries for starter. Both were sooo good! They were a crowd favorite! Steaks were cooked to perfection! Their Pasta Za Za were flavorful! The best thing of the night was the steak pizza (Ozzy). Must order for sure!!! The vibe of this place is like an old Hollywood hangout. Very classy and classic! Complementary valet and reservations is a must! Highly recommend for a special occasion!
Had a girls night and overall we had a great experience .
The restaurant was clean as far as appearance but our table had salt/ crumbs on it (which was odd seeing as they just opened). Our server was very nice and informative and made great drink and appetizer recommendations. We all enjoyed our food and drinks overall. I would go back at some point just unsure of when or how soon.

gemz **** WHAT THEY'RE KNOWN FOR: the coldest martinis, steaks, and pastas! They have a such a unique menu to choose from. THE VIBE: old Hollywood vibes. They do have a dress code they would like you to adhere to but I find that they're not actually strict about it. PRICE: ~$90 + $20 tip WOULD I COME BACK? Yes! Second time here. **** Overall Rating: 11/10 - This is probably my favorite special occasion restaurant of all time because every time I come here I'm just obsessed with the food and ambiance! The service is always a 10/10 too. - They have the best martinis- my personal favorite are the French 75 (tastes like a light sparkling lemon drop) and the espresso martini WITH reposado tequila (you gotta ask for the tequila!). - Omg.... YOU HAVE TO TRY THE OZZY PIZZA. It's absolutely delicious. The steak on it was cooked perfectly and this is the perfect size for two people or to share along a larger group so you can enjoy the other dishes. - The salmon crispy rice was pretty average but honestly I love any sushi and I was craving it so it satisfied my craving! - Overall, @drakeshollywood you'll see me again!!! A classic old Dallas staple.
I discovered Drake's a few months after relocating to
I discovered Drake's a few months after relocating to Dallas, and it has been a favorite ever since. The service is always great, and the manager is a gem! Recently, I had a wonderful experience in the private dining room, which reminded me to write this review. The PDR is such a cool spot for an intimate gathering, but the main dining room is just as intimate. It feels like a speakeasy, with no windows, large leather booths, and art along the walls. With the speakeasy vibe, it makes sense that they have a solid cocktail selection, but what keeps you coming back is the food. It's consistently top-notch. I highly recommend the Rick's pizza, Spicy salmon crispy rice, the Honey truffle chicken, or the Pasta za za. They even have the Hudson House cheeseburger (yum!) in case you don't feel like making an extra trip. This is worth adding to the date night rotation ASAP. You won't be disappointed.
The overall experience was a 10/10 service was amazing from
The overall experience was a 10/10 service was amazing from when we walked in the restaurant inside is so cozy love the booths our waiter was helpful and she suggested good food choices, the food was good it was fresh and good size servings everything was a great experience we will be back
Quickly became a top 5 restaurant for us.
They have an in house sommelier who helped us pick out the perfect wine. The Rick's pizza was unique and delicious. Vin Scully fries are some of the best with the smoked cheddar and jalapeños. The spicy rigatoni actually had spice to it, and the wagyu fried rice was delicious. Of course had to end the night with the 24 layer cake. Honestly wasn't that expensive comparatively. Ambiance is really nice and darkly lit. Will be coming here again!

Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.

When it says working on bid, it means there are people looking to fill it.
