Mussels were like raisins.
Small shells too. Had similar ones in Dublin. What is u with Irish mussels? Had to send them back. I think that got me "special" treatment on my blt. Tasted funky. Could have been truffle oil. Not listed as an ingredient though. Unimpressed to say the least. Even if this isn't the one with the Michelin star.

Everything about this wonderful place is top notch, with lots of natural light and cosy seats; 5 stars isn't enough. We arrived late lunch time on a Friday and the place was buzzin'. We were limited to time and in search of light lunch. We didn't have a reservation, but we were warmly welcomed, taken immediately, drinks offered and menus handed over. All of the staff were courteous and wore masks. My wife took the toasted BLT sandwich with French fries (£6.5). I opted for the home-made fish cake with tomato tartar (£6.5). We had sparkling water (tap water was offered) and I couldn't resist a few delicious fresh oysters (£4.5) each and the only item overpriced. The food was simple but everything was perfectly cooked, properly seasoned and darn tasty. The oysters were really delicious. We were offered desserts but had to be elsewhere so reluctantly declined. The restrooms were immaculate, the service on point and it was a whistle stop visit but we'll make more time next time.

We were visiting Belfast on vacation, and were in the mood for seafood. Our hotel recommended Deane's, and it was spot on. From the moment we entered the restaurant (without a reservation) we were treated extremely well. The host was incredibly helpful and very funny. Our server was awesome as well. My daughter got the mussels, and loved them. My wife and son both got the fish and chips, and let me enjoy a couple bites. Amazing!! I got the halibut chop - it was fresh and very delicious. If I make it back though, it's fish and chips all the way!! So good. Oysters and olives to start were fantastic, and my wife and I loved our cocktails. This place is can't miss in my book. Enjoy!!
Be the first to ReplyGreat steak and nice atmosphere.
I had the Portuguese fish stew and it was a very generous portion size and very tasty. I'd definitely come back again if I'm in town.

I was at Deans Seafood for dinner while in Belfast a few days ago. I had grilled cod which was a little salty but cooked perfect. My vegetable curry and rice were perfect addition to the fish. I am most impressed with our server, a young guy. I think his name is "Richard" or "Patrick." I had many adaptations and he got them exactly the way I wanted. I ordered another adaptation to take out for my son that was not on the menu. He checked with me to make sure that the take out was cooked right before I leave, so my son got his food fresh and hot. Excellent food, and excellent service. No pretentiousness at all.

We went here for dinner after experiencing their meat restaurant for lunch. Both were excellent. Waiters were very personable and friendly. Food at lunch was delicious and portioned on small side which was perfect - especially with the price reductions. Fish at dinner was wonderful. Definitely worth visiting both- will not disappoint!

5£) and really tasty mussles in Irish Cider and smoked bacon. For the lunch options we went for fish n chips. it is a smaller version of their main plate but perfect for light yet hearty lunch.Really enjoyed this place and wouldn't mind coming back.

First time in Belfast, this place was recommended in a travel book we have. Menu is very limited and mostly seafood (which makes sense) but if you do not like seafood I do not recommend coming here. Service was bad compared to the other restaurants we have been to in Ireland so far. They took our order and it took a little long to get our food. Then once we got our food (some good dishes some not so good). They never came to ask if we needed anything or if everything was ok. Then once we ere done they did not come to ask if we wanted dessert. We had to flag down another waiter to get the menu I probably would not return to this place.

Food is excellent and Deane's has a large selection of fresh fish dishes. Comfortable dinning and a short walk from our hotel on Victoria. Other travelers had recommended Deane's and I will do the same.
Be the first to ReplyWent here for lunch on a fairly busy Saturday.
The place was fairly crowded with a chic interior, very clean. Got the Fish & Chips, which came with 1 small piece of fish a very small portion of chips and a tiny puree 9f peas which was nice looking but did not do much for my belly. Which was the same for the meal in general, left Deane's hungry. Though the staff was nice and overall experience was pretty good. I guess one should also drop extra $ on an appetizer to make it a proper meal.
Be the first to ReplyI had the cod and a side of broccoli and salad.
The fish was a little salty but still good. The ambience was really nice.

I've only been here once to date but that was quite recently and I hope to return for further menu exploration. I had sardines on toast as the lunch offer - small but nice. Yes, of course I could have eaten it twice or three times but I won't let that stop me from going back.
