Outdoor on a summer's eve
A reservation for one at Dauphine's turned out perfectly. I ate a delicious meal, getting plates that featured the beautiful New Orleans seafood. The smoked fish and oysters bucatini were both sensational. I enjoyed the frozen drink, as well. I was left a lone a few too many times, but enjoyed the fresh air outdoors, even amidst the Canada wildfire smoke that started moving in. I'd love to go here again.

This place is lovely! The decor inside makes it feel quite southern (in a good way). Service was excellent through and through. Every dish we ordered was excellent! Oysters Dauphine was a real treat. Steamed mussels were delicious. Scallops Creole was way better than expected. Drinks were unique as well. Everything was great and we will definitely be back!

Went with a friend for their oysters lunch happy hour. Nice selection (6) of oyster with various levels of brininess. At happy hour prices, it was a good deal. Their cocktails, out of this world. Server Jose A, most definitely A+

I recently had my first visit — loved the overall vibe, decor and the catfish po’boy. It was so good and I had red beans on the side. I thought the menu was a bit expensive, even by DC’s standards and I wish the menu had a bit more diversity.

We had a nice and comfortable eclectic dinner at Dauphine's. There were 6 of us and we mostly ordered small plates. Some very good, and some good to slightly lacking. Service was very attentive and professional and it's a pretty place.

Schedule a late evening dinner with an Old HS friend who fly in from Europe. She really enjoyed the food and vibe of Dauphine’s. Our waitress was very friendly and funny. Can't wait to take the family there for Sunday Brunch

We were having a work dinner to bid farewell to a colleague who was moving on. We had a party of 9. Our waiter Al, was just fabulous. He new about every single dish on the menu, made recommendations for all of our inquiries. He also made sure that our glasses were always full. He was one of the best servers I have ever encountered. Dauphine's is so very lucky to have him. The food was abundant an delicious.

Came here for my birthday dinner with friends last Friday—overall the food was okay. It’s a cute restaurant and has a chill vibe to it. We got to sit in a big booth, very spacious. I have mixed feelings with the food. Top favorites were the Oyster Spaghetti and Dirty Rice & Duck Stuffed Quail—would recommend getting these two dishes for sure. Some of the other entrees were okay (Blackened Bluefish Creole, Confit Pork Belly & Andouille) but just seemed to lack enough flavor for my taste. For appetizers/“small plates” the Oyster Dauphine was good, but the Bread Service was a bit underwhelming and nothing special. Wasn’t a big fan of the Pommes Dauphines either. Service was great! Our server brought out Beignets and a candle to wish me a happy birthday—I thought that was nice, but then later saw it wasn’t complimentary. The cocktails were made pretty good—fairly reasonable DC priced too!

Went for the duck jambalaya...and really enjoyed it. Started with drinks (decent choices) and I got 1/2 doz oysters..they were very good, but pricey @ 3.50 each. Three of us dining split the duck jambalaya and the swordfish almondine. Initially the jambalaya seemed simple, then they opened the crock of rice, topped with duck liver! OMG, so freakin' rich and good! The duck sausage and roast was delish! The swordfish was perfectly prepared, and the almondine crusting was very good. We also got side dishes: red beans and also collard greens. The beans were good. I was sad about minimal 'liquor' with the greens but they were succulent and exceedingly tasty. Service was very attentive and helpful, especially the wine manager. Best restaurant experience in a while...I need to save up and go back.

We were there for Mardi Gras and a brass band was playing. It was so much fun! The food was top notch.

This bar is fake! Avoid at all costs. Today( Shrove Tuesday), I asked the mixologist about Hurricane rums. The only rum offered was a light rum from Puerto Rico. No pot still rums from Guyana, Jamacia, or Barbados typically used to make Hurricanes at the Cure or Cane and Table in New Orleans were available! This place could never survive in NYC. or Nola.
Be the first to ReplyNot impressive poor overall
The restaurant week menu was a joke the total cost of of the ingredients maybe 6 dollar max? Portions small. The Shrimp po boy served with a flourish with ... a bag of chips? And a small uninspired cookie to end. Really poor overall

This new restaurant is absolutely gorgeous with great details. But the service was just plain bad, and the portions were ridiculously small. Our table added two more rounds of food and we still left hungry, while paying a whole lot. For these prices, the service should be impeccable.

As someone who often got better service when he was young because of looks, I guess I have to accept the passage of time as I become middle aged. But when you are waiting and the young hottie without a reservation gets seated first, it’s a tad annoying. The service was friendly if a little uninformed about the food. We shared delicious oysters and a pig head salad. Terrific start. The pork chops were tasty if a little fatty and the fish was flavorful. The waiter asked if we wanted bread without saying it was 10 dollars. While I don’t mind paying expensive prices, I do think the waiter should have mentioned the cost.

Nice drink selection I had wine but my daughter’s cocktails were great. Food was excellent and authentically new orleans. Loved the rice fritters! Service was superb.

We had a group of 17 people and had made prior reservations for lunch. The restaurant said that due to the size of our group, we would need to have a "prix fixe" menu. Ok, I understand, but then they wanted $95 person for a 3 course lunch! Wow! this must be one heck of a lunch! Let me just say this, the food was average at best and not worth $95/person. We had to constantly ask for drink refills. You would also think that we would be seated in a seperate dining area, but no, we had 3 tables in the main dining room. Worse part the service (I use that term very loosely) was horrible! We were there 2 hours and had only received our soup/salads and main course. We kept asking if they were going to serve the desert, but finally had to leave without our desert because we needed to be back at our hotel for meetings. How can you mess up a prix fixe lunch? Somehow they managed. And worse yet, it didn't seem to bother the staff! They should be ashamed for charging $95 for a mediocre lunch with lousy service. Don't need to go there again.
