Really Enjoyable Evening!
Based on TP reviews booked a table for 4th July weekend - glad we did as quite a few people waiting outside. Staff were very welcoming and the restaurant had a nice buzzy atmosphere. We had hummus/dolmades starters and we both had fish courses which were all very good, tasted fresh and were nicely presented. The restaurant was busy but didn’t feel rushed at all during the meal. Music/singing by the staff, and then guests ‘dancing’ (on the spot) twice during the meal made the evening more memorable/fun. From the staff interactions there were a quite a few regulars visiting. Thank you for a great evening! BTW - We tried other two high-scoring TP-rated restaurants during that weekend and the meal at Dametra Cafe was by far the best, the now #1 TP position well- deserved!
Bland food, good service
Demetra is a cozy restaurant on the Main Street in Carmel. The decor is nice and a few tables have a view of the Main Street. We stopped by on a Saturday for early lunch. Service was good, and we nibbled on bread dipped in olive oil and balsamic vinegar (on the house) before our grilled vegetable sandwich and falafel wrap showed up. Unfortunately both dishes were bland with total lack of seasoning and flavor. This was very disappointing since we were looking forward to enjoy the vibrant flavors of Mediterranean food. At the end of our meal, they served us a piece of baklava with cream (again on the house) which was nice touch. They also charge 3.5% extra if you pay by credit card.
A Must-Visit Gem in Carmel!
We just had our third amazing dinner at Dametra Cafe, and it never disappoints! The food is absolutely delicious—from the appetizers to the main courses and desserts, every bite was full of flavor and made with care. The atmosphere is what truly sets this place apart—so lively and fun! The live music and spontaneous dancing create such a joyful, welcoming vibe. We visit Carmel once a year, and Dametra Cafe has officially become our must-go-to dinner spot. Can’t wait to return again next year!
Wish I Lived Closer!
This is the place to go if you want fresh, homemade food! Our meals included hummus, a gyros plate and an incredible pasta and the service was fantastic. The restaurant is casual and includes a bar. The restaurant has live music and the wait staff join in creating a community type of feeling. I highly recommend going here - I wish I lived closer!
Nothing Girlish about this Vibrant Cafe
We took a 17 mile drive from Monterey to end up at Carmel in the late evening. Checked the restaurants to find Damentra on the top. It was a long wait to a seat . But Oh boy the time spent did not disappoint. Having had a busy day with drive from SFO, whale watch and the 17 mile trip and a 30 min wait to seat we could not have chosen a better place for dinner Saw reviews cursing them for loud music but that was the energiser in a smallish Mediterranean cafe probably run by Moroccans to make it come alive. It had the people dancing and enjoying the music. Not a place for fine diners but definitely one to add to your tour to feel lively The food was very good. We tried lamb shank and moussaka. All tasted better with the lively place Want to enjoy your evening in a lively place. Head there. Cannot recommend enough
Great food-Wonderful Ambience
We stopped in for lunch today and we certainly weren’t disappointed! The decor is very inviting and our server, Isaiah, was very friendly and accommodating. My husband had the Dolmas and I had the salmon burger, which came with Greek salad. My husband’s dolmas were excellent. My salmon burger was a nice presentation with excellent flavors. The side salad was fresh and the dressing was wonderful. We also had a glass of Chianti each which we enjoyed. I would highly recommend this restaurant for lunch.
So much fun!
Go for the food (delicious) but what really makes this place special is when the staff starts making music and encouraging diners to get up and dance. It's amazing how this creates a sense of community even though it lasts only a few minutes and then everyone goes back to enjoying their own meals.

* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.
2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* EternalAnt36, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's bid.
* EternalAnt36 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to EternalAnt36 for any questions Peter may have as EternalAnt36 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* EternalAnt36 now uses their connections at Dametra Cafe Carmel-by-the-Sea to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If EternalAnt36 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, EternalAnt36 receives the $200 reward which is credited to EternalAnt36's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
* Peter can now enjoy the dinner with his friends at Dametra Cafe Carmel-by-the-Sea!
* As with all transactions on AT, disputes and no-show fees are handled through the platform's community-driven resolution system. Users with a strong track record are incentivized to fulfill bids successfully, and community members can report issues to maintain trust in the marketplace.
