Such a cute restaurant I sat at the counter with my mom and it was really fun to see the food being created in front of us! We started with the braised artichokes (9/10 delicious and the breadcrumbs were a nice added crunch). I also got the La Violetta cocktail which was their take on an aviation (10/10 a beautiful cocktail and a perfect mix of sweet and refreshing) For entrees, I ordered the calamarata which was their take on a carbonara (10/10 it was so good! The noodles were definitely cooked Al dente. Also the onions were in big pieces which I loved). My mom ordered the tortellini and I tried one but the balsalmic wasn't for me but she liked it more than mine so it worked out! (8/10) For dessert, we shared the apple olive oil cake which came with Dulce de leche and cinnamon Chantilly (9/10 it was really good but not as apple-y as I was expecting! The Dulce de leche was really sweet but it contrasted well with the cake and Chantilly!) Not a traditional Italian meal but so worth it!
Be the first to ReplyFood was okay, decent presentation and ambiance.
I got punched so hard in the head by the waiter at the end of my meal that my glasses fell off a little, even though I was not moving my head at all. We still gave a 15% tip despite literally getting assaulted, and the bartender stopped us after looking at the bill and asked us what was wrong. We tried to be polite and leave as soon as possible before any other incidents occurred. However, she then proceeded to tell us that "in New York, it's customary to give a 20% tip minimum." They're lucky we're not suing for a tort, let alone a difference of $1. It's honestly so embarrassing for them to be acting so broke, we will not be back.

BEST pasta I've ever had in my life!! We constantly come back here any time we go to the city. Service is amazing, ambiance is cozy and inviting. Try to get reservations in advance as it is usually booked. - Warm Rosemary Focaccia 10/10 - Italian Sausage Orecchiette 10/10 - Garganelli Verde 10/10 - Grandpa Lusk's Cheesecake 10/10 Cocktails: - Minetta Sour 10/10: perfect amount of sweetness. Not overpowering. - Sail Away, Sail Away 10/10: I get this drink every time! It's delicious love the lychee taste. My 10 month old son has a ton of food allergies and the manager was kind enough to come to our table and show us the different kinds of pastas they have to try to accommodate our son. We found one that worked for us and our son who usually never gets to eat at restaurants was able to finally have a plate of pasta with red sauce. He enjoyed every last bit of it. We are so thankful and happy our son will get to enjoy dinner with us every time we go. They also accommodate our 2 y/o daughter with pasta with red sauce and I swear it has to be the BEST red sauce we ever had. Definitely worth a try!
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely the very best homemade pasta I have ever had!
Absolutely the very best homemade pasta I have ever had! The flavors were delicious the pasta noodles light and tender and beautifully presented. I was fortunate enough to stumble across this hidden gem while waiting for a friend to join me at the theater next door. The manager Michelle was incredibly accommodating she managed to squeeze me in for a drink before the show and my friend and I returned to dine when the show is over. Will the bartender was a pleasure to chat with. The food, the ambiance, the personalized attention, will leave a lasting impression and remain part of a special celebration between my friend and I. Definitely a place to return to and that I highly recommend.

Da was simply amazing! I can't believe I didn't take a picture of the pasta because it was out of this world. You have to get the orecchiette. The oysters were so flavorful and the bread and was incredibly soft and wonderful. Must try NY Italian.
Be the first to ReplyI don't take the time to post reviews usually.
However, in this case, I want to leave a review! First, the food was absolutely delicious. Everything we ordered was delicious. There were also some exotic / interesting dishes that my friends and I had not had before - and it was amaaazing (we felt daring), it ended up being tasty and as really really good. Ambiance: the place is small and cozy - sometimes gets a little louder when very busy - either way - it's a feel-good time. Great lighting, great staff from the min you walk into the store. It's just a great spot with yumm Michelin star food. Service: Above and Beyond. Great. After the restaurant, I got home and realized I had lost my diamond bracelet. I called Uber, my friends, and then finally thought to call the restaurant. I have never had an experience this great and so kind. The manager (I think her name was Michelle) was empathetic and said, "Omg, I'm so happy you called. It's right here! She said she'd put it in the safe for me. It was in the safe for 3 days before I was able to get there to pick it up. The place was hopping when i finally was back there , but I was treated with patience and kindness (and no frustration or annoyance after a few ph calls ..). I'm wowed by the whole place and the guy that went downstairs to the safe, so professional and sweet. The place smelled sooo good, and the dishes coming out of the kitchen looked scrumptious. It would have been absolutely great if I could just sit down and eat, but it was completely full. I can't wait to go back with my friends and with my family! (Many fancier spaces with major hype do not have food tast like this). Looking forward to delicious food very soon!
Be the first to ReplyVery good.
We sat at the chefs table where we were able to see them preparing the apps. The food was very tasty, not the best but quite good. The wine we had was funky (but that's on us for ordering it - it wasn't bad just different). It took far too long to be helped when we sat down. Took about 20 minutes to be helped. But we weren't in a rush, and after that it was all good.
Be the first to ReplyDelightful carpaccio! My favorite restaurant in the city.
Service was thoughtful, ambiance was cute, and food was flavorful. I really enjoyed my experience and will come back the next time I'm in town
Be the first to ReplyManaged to snag a reservation for the chef's counter seats
Managed to snag a reservation for the chef's counter seats on a Friday night. Wish I had come with a bigger group because there were so many things that I had wanted to try on the menu. After much consideration, we decided on the Octopus Carpaccio, Pappardelle, and Agnolotti. Everything was absolutely delish! You can taste the freshness and quality of the ingredients used for each dish. The pappardelle was my favorite. The pasta had the perfect al dente texture and the sauce was very flavorful. The lamb in the agnolotti was soft and tender. The gravy was good at first but got a little salty after a few bites. Our server Marina was very helpful and attentive. She provided her recommendations and came around to ensure we were enjoying our meal. This would be a great place for a date night, but I would try to get seats at the tables as it was a bit tight at the chef's counter.
Be the first to ReplyMade a last minute reservation for the Chefs Counter right
Made a last minute reservation for the Chefs Counter right when they opened on a Friday night. It was pretty empty when I arrived and when I got seated at the Chefs Counter, realized it was really hot with the open kitchen to the left and some mini toaster oven right next to my seat. I don't think the whole area is that hot but the seats directly next to the mini oven definitely were. I then asked the hostess if I could sit at the bar instead and they were very accomodating. Got a couple glasses of red and started off with the Rosemary Focaccia (5/5- I love all bread and this one was a must. My bf doesn't particularly like bread and he even ate 2 pieces) and Braised Artichoke (3.5/5- this was also delicious but too rich for our liking. After a few bites I felt a bit iffy but it was definitely tasty). Then for our entrees, we got the Pappardelle (5/5- star of the night. Perfectly cooked noodles, sauce portion was just enough and decent portion) and the Tortellini (3/5- the balsamic was too sweet for what I prefer on a pasta dish. Compared to the Pappardelle, it just wasn't giving me the wow factor. I would not re-order this if I came back). Summary: order the Pappardelle!

Everything we ate at Da Toscano was delicious (the warm rosemary focaccia with talegggio butter and the braised artichoke were my standouts of the meal)But what made this experience phenomenal was the service - the whole team were amazing (servers, food runners, floor manager, host)Super friendly, knowledgeable without being pretentious and attentive with really authentic warm energy vibes - you could feel they all loved working there. New York has plenty of places with delicious food but I haven't experienced this kind of next level service in years. Will definitely be back! LOVED everything about this place.
Be the first to ReplyFood and service were fantastic.
A bit rushed though Warm rosemary focaccia with the tallegio butter was delicious. Butter so creamy Bone marrow with polenta and pieces of diced veal great as well. Amazing presentation and gravy was the star. The La Tur tortellini appetizer wasn't as goodAgnolotti I enjoyed immensely as I did the spaghetti telefono. All their sauces are great
Be the first to ReplyWow. I wish I knew this place sooner.. definitely surprised
Wow. I wish I knew this place sooner.. definitely surprised by this small Italian restaurant in West Village. Roasted oysters is a must, the crab fat butter is very unique and extremely flavorful! Squid ink spaghetti was surprisingly spicy, but delicious. I just wish they put tiny amount of crab fat butter because it was a bit dry. Agnolotti was rich and this could have been extremely salty if I had one plate by myself, but I shared everything with my husband.. so whatever. Cocktail was on point (that's honey bush, baby was delish), we also ordered one glass of red and one glass of white.. they really go well with food. Nice selection! Overall, I highly recommend and we will def be back to try more.FYI, chef table area is getting so much a/c air, so I do not recommend sitting there
Be the first to ReplyAmazing spot for gatherings of 4 and a date spot.
Service and staff were amazing with great interior decoration. Food was spot on, every dish was 5/5. All I can say is, don't be afraid to try new items here (if price is not an issue). 100% would recommend coming here!
Be the first to ReplyThe creativity in the dishes and the warm ambiance set this
The creativity in the dishes and the warm ambiance set this place apart from all the rest. We started with warm rosemary focaccia, which was soft yet had a pleasing crunch in the crust. Alone, it was perfect, but with Taleggio butter, was off the charts. This was a hint of what was to come... My oysters with crab fat butter took Umami to a whole new level. Thank goodness the order was for half a dozen. My husband had the Octopus Carpacio, a generous serving that looked like an exquisite marble pattern. It was tender and beautifully complemented by the pickled eggplant. Braised artichokes were the ultimate comfort food. I loved the little tang that came with it, which offset the richness of the parmesan. Hubby ordered Agnolotti with lamb neck. It was full of flavor and the pasta had a lovely, pillowy texture. My Pappardelle with duck ragu was insane. There were so many levels of flavor, I lost count. The shaved foie gras on top carried it over to the other side! Sauce was silky; I ended up sopping every last bit with a piece of bread. The wines by the glass (we had the Vermentino, followed by Chianti) were very good. Next time we'll try dessert if we can save some room. I want to note how good the service was. Staff was attentive, even with a packed dining room, enthusiastic, and friendly. They seem to really enjoy what they do, which seems rare these days. I can't wait to go back!
Be the first to ReplyHad a great time at da Toscano.
The food was all excellent, in surprising ways. We tried the octopus carpaccio which was outstanding. The atmosphere was well done but not overwhelming. And the service was great. Would definitely recommend this place to friends and family
Be the first to ReplyThis place is amazing.
The artistry behind each dish was magic. The Parmesan artichoke spectacular. The ragu and skirt steak truly one of a kind. We had a sampling of many different dishes and each one just kept blowing our minds. We finished off with the creamiest NY cheesecake I have ever had. This place is top notch
Be the first to ReplySat at the chefs counter.
Good service and great food. Meatballs are a bit small to buy one each but still good. The only thing I was like eh about was dessert, Olive Oil Cake. Pastas were absolutely divine though! Had the foie gras pappardelle and the Porcini Butter Gnocchi

Overall a terrific experience! There's a great ambience inside. Good vibes all around, and a good volume as well. The food is outstanding. This place really comes through in terms of flavors. Our server was great! Very attentive, informative, and checked in on us throughout the evening. AppsCarne cruda: a rather small bite, but delicious. If you're ok with the price just to experience the flavor-packed-ness, go for it.Pb&j bombolone: wow! I've honestly had nothing like it. There are so many layers of flavor...you get something a bit different with each bite. It is rather rich, so you only need a few bites. If you like the pbj flavor profile and are somewhat of an adventurous eater, then this is a must try.Roasted oysters: warm, buttery, salty. Just an overall delicious bite. Again lots of flavors going on that marry so well together.Focaccia: don't skip it. The bread is soft with a nice crunch around the edges. And the butter...I could eat it without the bread. Amazingly seasoned MainsAgnolotti: another flavor punch. The warm, almost smooth lamb stuffing melts in your mouth. A very light tomato sauce and melted cheese shavings bring it all together.Garganelli: rich tomato flavor, tasty bites of meat throughout the sauce. Warm and comforting DessertTiramisu sundae: honestly the most disappointing thing we ate. It had the general flavor profile of a tiramisu but it kind of fell flat. Aside from the ice cream, all the other add ins are crunchy, so it was missing that creamy softness of a classic tiramisu. I think that's the point of the ice cream, but it doesn't really get the job done. DrinksOverall, the drinks category was OK but could've been better.I had the olive branch martini, followed by a traditional dirty martini. Both were drier than I prefer, even though I ordered the second one extra dirty. They do add a tasty pecorino stuffed olive! My partner tried two of the rose options...both OK.We ended with espresso martinis. Again, they were OK and had an interesting walnut flavor. But we've had better. Overall, we can't wait to go back. So many things on the menu we want to try.

A contender for one of my favorite italian spots in the city. Loved the fried oysters and cocktails. Had a few pasta dishes too. The green one was too salty for my liking but fun and adventurous nonetheless. Will definitely be back.

Solid Italian spot! We sat at the chef's counter and it's a really nice vibe inside with a fairly large menu. Service was great! Pb&j bombolone (4/5) - really creative dish! The jelly and powdered sugar really balanced the foie gras nicely Baked oysters (4/5) - really nice vinegar-y sauce and they were big oysters Scialetteli (5/5) - perfectly cooked. Not too greasy either. Perfect amount of buttery and lemony, and there were tons of clams. Lamb (5/5) - absolutely delicious and cooked perfectly. The second cut was fattier and soooo good. I didn't love the peppers on the side, but the meat more than made up for it Dark chocolate panna cotta (3/5) - the marshmallow and graham cracker crumble made this better. The actual panna cotta was so so - it tasted more like caramel than dark chocolate. Would definitely come back and try more of the pastas and meat dishes!
Be the first to ReplyWent to Da Toscano on a Sunday.
06/05/22Excellent experience from start to finish. Started with cocktails - That's Honeybush, Baby! And the Sail Away, Sail Away. We wound up getting a second round.Got appetizers and kept ordering more dishes as we went along because everything was so delicious. Finished with entrees and got a nice bottle of a 2009 Italian red wine. They were nice enough to send us out a dessert on the house :)Thanks to Will, Michelle, and Chris for the wonderful hospitality. We will be back to dine here again for sure!
Be the first to ReplyOUTSTANDING.
Great food, great service in a relaxed atmosphere. Every single dish was unique and delicious. The pastas we're great. Especially enjoyed the pork chop and the fluke braciole. The menu is not very descriptive but this was not a problem. The waiter, Chris, was very knowledgeable and we enjoyed consulting with him on what we would enjoy most. Luca, the Italian sommelier, also regaled us with history of European wine regions. You'll find some real gems on the wine list. The only thing I didn't love was the cocktail menu, but that won't stop me from returning. The after dinner espresso martini was very special. And don't skip dessert! We ordered all 4 and we argued over which was the best for a half hour! Highly recommend.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing place, great ambiance.
Stopped in as we were looking for a decent meal - started with roasted oysters, which were done to perfection. The gnochi was to die for, and finished with a dark chocolate panna cotta. Could not have asked for a better meal, with an extensive wine list, and some of the best service in the City.Could not ask for better.
Be the first to ReplyThis place is such a hidden gem.
Everything we ordered was different and exceeded expectations. Must orders are the : Oysters, Skirt Steak, and a Pasta Dish. It's an intimate restaurant, a little noisy but the ambience is perfect for a date night or meeting with friends. The staff are wonderful and they have an exposed kitchen. For desserts I do wish they had tiramisu, we ordered the Panna Cotta, it was alright. Overall a fantastic experience and I will be returning!
