Da Paolino Restaurant Marina Grande Reviews
Tourist trap
This restaurant is clasical tourist trap. Food below average and extremely expensive. Service below average. Scenery nothing special. Too crowded. The worst restaurant we ate in our 3 days campagna trip and the most expensive one. Would not recommend!
From the beautiful entrance to service and food.
All I can say is Wow! Micaela created the perfect evening. The menu and ingredients were phenomenal. Not to forget desserts. Perfect ambience matched by quality!perfection! Paolino Spritz
Lemon Trees!!
Great experience. This restaurant is located surrounded by lemon trips. The service was good and the food was also good. Cute place to eat when in Capri

We were visiting Capri for the weekend and this place was a huge disappointment. Food was bland and there was a charge for napkins and place settings. I've never seen or heard of that before coming from NYC where I dine at high end restaurants multiple times a week. There are much better places to go in Capri.

If there is one place I would say not to miss in Capri, it is this. It is by definition a lemon heaven. The entire place is filled with lemon trees and smells incredible. The tableware is so beautiful as well. I had the lemon chicken and lemon pasta (Pasta Al Limone) and both not only tasted delicious but smelled delightful. The bathrooms are truly luxurious. Service is excellent and there is always someone available to serve and assist you. The entire experience was great from start to finish. The only place you need to dine at in Capri, I don't know if there is any other place that could top this experience.

This restaurant is beautiful, you are sitting under a sea of lemon trees that are all full of lemons, one of kind place with great food and service, It was one of my favourite restaurants in Capri
This place is definitely overhyped.
The place is beautiful... the ambiance is about it. The food was not good. It was overpriced and tasted not as good as all the other places I have been. Paid $60 for a shrimp pasta dish that had the smallest shrimps and it was soo fishy tasting. I did not like it at all. It is also infested with mosquitoes everywhere! It made the entire experience so unenjoyable, we just wanted to eat our food and leave right away. My husband and I got bit atleast 10x each... its horrible. Would not recommend.

Was very excited to dine here, this was the reservation my husband and I were most excited about for our honeymoon but we were underwhelmed. I feel like it's overhyped... it's a nice restaurant, but I think there's definitely way better and more affordable options in Capri. The food was fine, nothing spectacular but not bad either. The restaurant is decorated nicely. Not a restaurant we would come back to but to go once was nice.
Was excited to dine here but it was overrated.
Food was okay but we felt we were not treated the same as other guests. Had a reservation but the host could not find it. Seated us in a corner in a table covered with ants. Service was rushed, food was just okay and then found a hair on my plate. No one told us about dessert, servers were paying attention to other diners but not us (though we expected slow service as a cultural difference). At the end, we saw multiple tables being served limoncello and had read it was complimentary, but did not receive any ourselves. Lastly, other Italian speaking diners had cards to reserve taxis given to them by the restaurant staff, but none of the English speaking guests waiting for a taxi had a reservation or card from the restaurant, displaying a clear bias. Lastly, cost 266 Euro for two plates of spaghetti (no meat or seafood), 3 drinks, and dessert. Very overpriced.
Fantastic experience.
Like stepping into a Disney fairytale. If you came here and ordered a cocktail and one dish you played yourself. Maybe you should have gone to "Olive Garden". On the other hand, if you come here with the intention of experiencing a real Italian dinner with someone you love, you really can't beat the wine selection, ambiance, meal options, service and so on. We started with the Tuna Tartar and a dozen oysters, paired with a bottle of white wine. We had the lemon spaghetti, lamb shanks, dessert bar and limoncello. Everything was excellent. Our server was also a great guy who had been dating a girl from Los Angeles, which made for fun conversation. The hostesses took photos of us and the tables next to us were also great people having the time of their lives. Highly recommend if you know what you are doing. If not there are plenty of tourist traps at the marina to choose from.
Very overrated
Beyond the nice decor (lemon trees) this restaurant offers nothing but extremely basic food and desserts that I would rate a 4/10, also service was not good as we had to wait 10+ minutes despite a reservation and staff were overall not attentive. The drinks were also underwhelming. As someone who has visited many highly successful restaurants this one was very disappointing as the service and food quality did not match the extortionate pricing, I’ve had extremely better food on the island from restaurants half the price. Overall disappointing and overpriced.
The canopy of lemons is AMAZING!
Go here for the lemons and the ambiance and the pictures and the people watching, not the food. Food is fine, the rest is worth a visit.
Tourist trap
It’s a tourist trap! Quality of food is bad, service is not the best, and it’s overpriced. Years ago, it easily a good restaurant. Today, is not anymore the same restaurant as in the past!
Food was fine and the service was satisfactory.
This place seems like it's been fairly commercialized as they are shuffling the multiple guests and tables around to what appears to be to get as many customers in and out as possible. What is worth seeing (along with multitudes of the Italian glitterati) is the amazing ambiance and space they have created. It would be hard not to be impressed by the perfectly manicured lemon grove they have incorporated the restaurant into. The staff "uniform" of everything/anything citrus seems a bit cliché but adds an air of whimsy to the experience. I presume "papa Paolino" is the elderly man walking around in his fully sequined T-shirt proudly displaying the restaurant logo...

Our dining experience felt cheesy like this place was original Olive Garden- would definitely skip!
The best in capri
This spot is amazing for s nightout! Highly recommended for special occasions. The staff is genuine warm and attentive

Came for dinner on our honeymoon since it's a must stop place in Capri. The ambiance is very cool with all the lemon trees and the service was fantastic and added to the experience. The food was good but not amazing, we had much better food at a number of places but it's cool for the ambiance. We loved the stuffed zucchini flowers and the sea bass in lemon sauce, both of these were fantastic. the lemon pasta was average, just lemon and butter, good but I've had better and I was expecting more from a lemon themed restaurant. My husbands veal Milanese was very tough and dry, I would not recommend here. Sea bass was fantastic but everything else was just average.

The food was absolutely amazing, the ambiance was definition of Capri and just impeccable, with very attentive and friendly service.
A magical experience
The best known restaurant in Capri. Having dinner under lemon trees. Their have a very extends menu and also a very good wine list. We all had pasta and sat on the same table that Jennifer Lopez seat every year went she goes to Capri for holidays in the summer
Amongst the Lemon Trees a delightful dinner and unique dessert buffet!
This lemon grove oasis in Capri is a show-stopper for sure when visiting the island. Recommended by our island friend, Vincenzo we just had to give it a try. The ambience and setting are idyllic for Capri as you sit amongst the olive trees on candle-lit tables. We happened to walk by before service started and the training for the evening was taking place. I love seeing that. The staff was attentive, polite and professional. As other reviewers have said, the dessert bar is a real treat. Be aware that there is a charge per plate so if you over-stuff your dessert plate with the choices it might be a hefty add-on. It's o.k. it is worth it. I tried the tiramisu and Torta Caprese (named for the island) We also enjoyed lemon ravioli too and bufalo mozzarella appetizers. Capri is an expensive island to visit so don't be surprised at your bill, it's an island and many food items have to travel. It is definitely worth it here. We didn't see any celebrities but enjoyed watching others snap as many pictures as they could. I would also recommend dressing up a little bit, casual shorts and beach attire did not seem to be anywhere we looked.
Ordered: Mozzarella Al Limone (~€30) Totani E Patate
Ordered: Mozzarella Al Limone (~€30) Totani E Patate (~€40) Fettuccine con Bolognese (~€40) Linguine Con Crastacei (~€55) Riso Mare (~€46) Dolce E Frutta (~€28) Paolino Spritz (~€22) Paolino Lemonade (~€20) Limoncello shot (complimentary) Aya's take: Let me start off by saying their reservation process is highly random and discriminatory (I won't get into it here but feel free to message me about it). The decor is stunning and it's super spacious; it truly feels like you've teleported to Lemon Land. Out of the appetizers, the Totani E Patate was absolutely incredible. Very unique take on octopus especially mixed in with the fried potatoes. All the pastas were good, and surprisingly the Fettuccine con Bolognese stood out the most. The Spritz & Lemonade were both light and refreshing. After our meals, our waiter "welcomed" us to the dessert bar which we thought was complimentary given how it was described. However, it was ~€28 per plate. Just a heads up for when you go; even if a few people share the plate, it's a better deal than everyone in your party paying the ~€28 separately. It was a good try but given some shady events (our reservation process, a few added charges to our bill, etc.), I don't think I'd go back.
This place did not disappoint! The lemon trees everywhere
This place did not disappoint! The lemon trees everywhere were gorgeous. The food was tasty, Wes especially enjoyed the table side fish. The service was attentive and nice. Definitely a place worth checking out in Capri.

There's so much hype around this restaurant and I really wanted to go when I saw Magic and Jordan went. There's a lot of mixed reviews lately but I found the restaurant to be exactly what I expected and wanted. We came for the ambiance and it didn't disappoint. It's beautiful sitting under the lemon trees and there's a fun buzz being there. The octopus appetizer was delicious, the lemon pasta was very good, the drinks were great, and the dessert bar was fun but not tasty, would skip that next time. They brought limoncello tasters at the end which was a nice touch. The staff was very friendly and treated us well and took our pictures happily on request. It was definitely a memorable experience.
Average food overpriced
Very average and extremely overpriced. Lovely setting but all the food came out Luke warm and was average. We had a better meal for a third of the price in most other restaurants.
Fine dinning
Restaurant is good always full during the weekend make sure to reserve a table before you go as the waiting time is high food is super and nice ambience full of lemon trees
Paolino i suoi clienti come i limoni: da spremere
For a mozzarella appetizer, a fish pasta, a bottle of regular wine, a bottle of water and a dessert, it is not possible to spend 100 euros per person.

This place is amazing! The staff was attentive, caring and professional. Food was excellent and the setting was beautiful. Definitely a must see when visiting Capri!
This is a 5 star in my book.
The atmosphere was amazing with the large lemons hanging above your head. The ravioli was the best I have ever had. They catered to our every need...and we are not rich or famous. They had a narrow vehicle to take our beloved disabled sister to the taxi. The service was above and beyond in my opinion.
Need to visit once when in Capri but things were as expected!
The lemon trees atmosphere was magical. The food, as expected based on reviews, was average. Shrimps are not worth the price so could be avoided. Calamaries were fine. The restaurant is still going to draw visitors and it is an unique experience. What your expectations are and how you handle this is up to each individual.
Rude staff for for the hospitality industry.
Tried to make reservation online and in app and it's broken. Tried to call and got a reservation a month in advance. Arrived only to be told no completely full when it opened and many tables open. Would not even let us sit in the bar. Giving it a 1 purely for the ambiance

We had a late dinner here one of the nights we were in Capri. The atmosphere and dessert bar was the best part! It's not someplace we'd go back to as we had much better food at other restaurants. They definitely cater to the rich and famous, which we are neither.
Loved the food and ambience.
Sitting in the middle of a lemon grove while have a delicious dinner
How can you come to Capri and not go to Da Paolino? We came
How can you come to Capri and not go to Da Paolino? We came here for dinner last summer and you truly have to see it to believe it! The size of the lemons here is absolutely unreal. In fact, before dinner we were wondering if these enormous lemons ever fall on people during dinner. They do! It happened to a couple next to us during dinner, it was very entertaining. The night we were there for dinner there was also a very large event happening with a few celebrities in attendance. Even with all of the hoopla our service was not affected throughout the meal. Overall the food was very good but the veal milanese was a bit thick and heavy for my taste. Apparently there is a pasta sampler that you can order if you know to ask for it, which I wish I had know about in advance! I'm not sure that I would put this on my repeat list but was worth the experience!
Lovely, very expensive…
We had a great waiter at this restaurant which was super busy, although two of the tables near to us were complaining during their dinners. We were lucky with our server because this restaurant is so very popular. We noticed that some of the waiters behaved as if they were doing diners a favour. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful. The lemon trees everywhere are stunning. The food was good. We will be returning in May 2023 and we hope to get the same waiter. A very special restaurant due to sitting under a wonderful canopy of lemon trees, but they know what to charge! It is very expensive. It is a very romantic restaurant, and certainly an experience one would want to repeat.
Coolest Restaurant on Capri
The dining experience here is not to be missed. Outdoors under the lemon trees is an experience. The food is fantastic. I recommend the steak cooked medium rare.
