My parents just completed a coach trip where they stayed at this hotel for three nights. Unfortunately they had a terrible experience. The hotel needs updating as wallpaper is peeling off the walls and sockets not working in the room. However, the worst experience they had was with the service in the restaurant at dinner and breakfast. They were given designated seats for the weekend and were not allowed to sit where the "private guests"'would sit. Now I understand groups will be put together and they had no problem with this but there was a very obvious class system of private guests vs coach parties going on. They were moved to a new table on their final night after they had already sat down as somehow their designated seats had become "private guests" seats. The staff were surly at best about the move. The next morning one of the ladies in the group (an elderly woman) had forgotten they had been moved and sat with her breakfast at her old table. A person who worked there came over to her pointing at her and told her this was for private guests only and made her move. Her attitude was appalling and unnecessary. Bear in mind the restaurant was half empty So it's not Like anyone was waiting. On top of all this the food was horrible. Felt like it had been left out for a long time before it was served. My parents travel a lot on this type of trip and have never experienced being treated like this before and sadly will never go back to this hotel. So many of the party had such a bad experience that not only did they fill out the comment cards but attached additional paper as well!
