Noisy - but where isn't these days? Slow and inattentive service but it was busy (a Friday night) Seemingly un-exciting menu choices but, at the end of the meal we had eaten enough and enjoyed most of it. What was very good and tasty? The starter jar of pumpkin, goat cheese and zatar; the pesto/piquillo flatbread; the ricotta fried squash blossom. What was average - grilled Sicilian meatballs; garganelli pasta with crab, shrimp, tomato sauce - the sauce was quite good but the large pasta pieces didn't do the sauce any favors; the octopus a la plancha. Why is it restaurants charge the earth for octopus that is very inexpensive and very easily prepared if a few simple rules are followed - the $14 charge for a tentacle and a half. You can buy a pound of octopus for less that $14. This one was also slightly chewy - a no-no. Also bizarre behavior on paying - waiter brought credit card slips which we signed, then he came to take them away as there was a slight problem with them - a slight overcharge because of a mix-up. He then returned with a new slip for us to sign without bringing back the old ones. The amount was precisely the same as on the one he'd taken - needless to say we did not sign again. Strange or what?
