Best place to impress sushi lovers
The staff are lovely and attentive. As soon as you walk in you are greeted by the chefs and servers, and our glasses never went empty. We ordered a salmon and avocado roll, a spicy tuna roll, and two servings of miso soup which were all delicious and great quality. Cubé isn’t cheap but the prices are not far off what you would expect for high class sushi elsewhere in london outside of Mayfair, and those locations certainly couldn’t match the atmosphere. All in all the overall experience is well priced. The restaurant is small so it may be a good idea to book in advance if you are wanting to go during a busier period or as a larger party

Wonderful food, really polite servers and incredibly fresh fish. It's a little pricey, but there are a lot of Japanese places in London that are just as expensive and not nearly as good.

Food was good. Kind service. Personally would have enjoyed more in a more decorated restaurant and themed music. I love Bob Marley and UB40. Just not my pick for a Japanese dinner.

Be the first to ReplyFood Poisoning
*Food Poisoning* I type this review as warning to other customers, your wellbeing should be of the utmost importance when dining out. On the 20th Dec 2022, I dined out with my mother for a celebration meal. We ordered food and ate as normal, as we were leaving my temperature dropped and i felt tired. A sickness overcame me and acute diarrhoea. I managed to hurry to a nearby toilet and relieve myself. On recollection my mum, mentioned it looked like I had food poisoning, she saw a staff member who was preparing food with wet hands after a nearby toilet trip and wipe his nose prepping. I couldn't believe it. What followed for 5 days straight was diarrhoea and extreme stomach cramps. I took antibiotics, to which I had a bad side effect and it ruined my new years and Christmas. I am sure the chicken kaarage, chicken teriyaki, salad or maybe sushi caused my food poisoning. My stool sample tests came back from the NHS on 22nd Dec 2023, it detected Campylobacter. I reported this to Cube Mayfair and Kenta the general manager, who was more concerned about his own reputation than my wellbeing. He passed on my report to a food consultant who apparently is an expert on how my body works, an incubation period isn't necessary for everyone, my body reacted Swiftly right after the meal and before cube I was very healthy, strong immune system. The food consultant works for Kenta. Cube dismissed my claim and denied me a refund. They claim the restaurant is 5 stars and that's enough, how does that stop wet hands from a bathroom trip or staff wiping their nose, marinating the food with bacterium. So disappointed and still recovering, I have contacted food standards agency. Please visit with caution, i would not recommend a visit, stay home and cook better, safer food. Cube have ruined my 2023, they dont care about their customers. Food standards agency will be in contact.

Been there for a rather early dinner. The sushi was so tasty! The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely go again.

My husband and I were excited to try this place and it was just amazing.
Attentive staff and the food was so good that I can’t wait to go back.
We had the Omakase menu for lunch and sat at the counter.
It was a great experience being able to see the Chef preparation every single dish in front of us.
It was a wonderful experience and this place is a gem.
Highly recommend it!!!!!
Sushi is Pure Excellence
As a non stop traveler and foodie… I regret not writing more reviews.
Every now and then, a restaurant blows my mind and I feel compelled to write about it.
This restaurant goes beyond that. Just to start…
Their seaweed salad is not the preserved product that we have become used at sushi restaurants; it’s hand foraged, fresh and so healthy. No chemicals, artificial colors or flavors.
My Omakase lunch included the very best choices from the chef. Fresh uni from Iceland, toro toro toro and a perfect marriage of other choices. I ate it before thinking to take a photo for the review!
It’s a TINY place so RESERVE.
As a bonus, the wine list includes really good French burgundies at reasonable prices.
A bucket list sushi spot in London!
Faultless and authentic Japanese restaurant
With a headline like this, why not 5 stars, you may be wondering. Well solely on account of my 3* rating for value: our dinner for three cost £75 a head (including a single bottle of sparkling wine). It's significantly cheaper to eat there at lunchtime but the drinks remain expensive throughout the day (£10+ for a glass of wine, £40+ for a bottle).
It's a small restaurant but the layout is brilliant and not at all cramped. Food is prepared along one wall with some counter seats immediately in front. There are a couple of small tables near the entrance; at the rear of the ground floor several larger and more private ones. Further tables are available downstairs. The decor is smart with plenty of light wood. The clientele was an interesting mix of business diners (on the next table), friends meeting up, a couple of date couples and also two people dining on their own.
Everything we ate was perfectly prepared and attentively served. We enjoyed our bottle of English sparling wine (which was no more expensive than the cheapest bottles of still wine). In a city littered with inauthentic Japanese eateries this was definitely the real deal and we enjoyed the experience very much.
Sensational
Had omakase menu this week, this is the best sushi in Mayfair hands down. And fairly priced. Service exceptional, staff super attentive and friendly and very flexible with food variations.
Be the first to ReplyFreshest sushi and sashimi in Mayfair!
I have been to countless Japanese restaurants in the City but non of them have impressed me as much as Cube Mayfair. It's clear that they place a high priority on both their ingredients and their attentive service. Having traveled to Tokyo I am so delighted to have found an authentic restaurant in London that reminds me so much of what I experienced in Japan. There's no doubt their rice is high grade Japanese and their sashimi is always ultra fresh and delicious. The service I have received from Misato-san at Cube is superior to what I have experienced at some of London's top Michelin restaurants. She managed to exceed my high expectations which is rare to find in London these days. Thank you so much Misato-san and the team at Cube for keeping your standards impeccably high despite us being in the middle of a pandemic. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves authentic Japanese cuisine! If you get chance to order their delicious Matcha brownies I'm sure you won't be disappointed!

We had the Omakase menu and each piece of the sushi is sensational. Made with love and pride. The service is warm and non intrusive. We went to the bar downstairs after the fantastic food and continue with the some amazing cocktails.
This is now my favourite Japanese restaurant with Japanese chef and Japanese staff.
I will definitely be coming back.
The quality of food is so good and yet the menu is so reasonably priced.
Class Act and Top Notch
This is the best sushi restaurant in London. I will accept no opposition to this statement. Lovely place, lovely people. Top notch, class act.

This is my all time favorite restaurant! The food is amazing! I have been 5 times and every time I was amazed by the food quality. I have tasted most of the dishes on the menu and it’s excellent! They have a great variety of Sake as well. A strong recommend!

Or my personal favourite... *Sargeant Sashimi: Modern day defender of Cubé's honour.*
I have made it my life’s work to protect Cubé from the evil forces of darkness (bad trip advisor reviews).
Personally I find it disgusting that in the 21st century, people on tripadvisor leave negative reviews on my darling Cubé. Tbh i honestly don't know how people have the moral compass to do something like that. Anybody who thinks they can disrespect Cube will feel the full strength of my folded steel Katana”
Cubé is the finest Japanese restaurant in the whole of W1 (central segment 16). The wagyu is so soft and buttery… its sends tingles through my rectum, something I can only compare to a long night in Kyoto with Jimmy Saville back in ’02. When I walk in to Cubé, the owner and my dear friend “Ira Shaimasse”, takes one glance at my 2010 Cartier Roadster and sends a bottle of 1942 straight to my table! He knows I’m here to spend some serious yen!
I have adopted the role of Cubé night watchman… I will be patrolling trip advisor every night… stalking my prey of pro-fresh fresh sashimi and pro-tasteful decor lovers… stay away from Cubé…. Let that be a final warning….
Best sushi in London
The best sushi I’ve ever had in London. And very reasonable. Our meal for 4 cost me less than my meal for 1 at Zuma’s. A hidden gem.

Great authentic food, fab service and for Mayfair very well priced. Will be back. I especially recommend the yellow tail.
