This place is awesome!! Food is delicious, the staff were all very nice and eager to please. We came in with a reservation an hour before they closed and we were also a large group plus they were very busy otherwise but they still brought our food promptly and kept checking in to see if we needed anything.
Be the first to Replymy family was in a predicament on Sunday 3/17/24.
we had a reservation at Fusion on Union for 14 people for my granddaughters baptism luncheon. when we arrived they LIED and said we canceled it. I pointed out how they crossed out my reservation in their book. The manager refused to take any accountability or even offer any apology. Incompetent and rude! They took a reservation for a larger party and cancelled ours Manager didn't care that we were all there. They made no effort at all. We made a call to Cosimos and explained our situation they were so sorry we went through that and told to come right over. They bent over backwards to accommodate our large party. Within minutes we were pleasantly seated. everyone was wonderful at the establishment. their food, as always, was excellent. I just want to thank all that made, what would have been a disastrous issue, a great addition to our very special day. If you're looking for great food, reasonable pricing, and pleasant staff, go to Cosimos. You won't be disappointed.
Be the first to ReplyCosimo's is absolutely one of the best restaurants in
Cosimo's is absolutely one of the best restaurants in Newburgh and the surrounding Hudson Valley. The food is exceptional, the service top notch and the prices are very reasonable. The bar is gorgeous and their drink menu and wine selection is very good. The bartenders are super attentive and friendly. Overall a top pick! Highly recommend!
Be the first to ReplyGreat place for any special occasion.

Be the first to ReplyIn the company of good friends and fellow Yelpers Marlene G.
and Kiddeft K. on Christmas Eve 2023, I am comforted with merriment, cheers, food, wine and finally in good times. I finally muster the strength to get out of my despondent and melancholy wracked with grief disposition and managed to catch a intercity bus from NYC to Hudson Valley. My travels takes me for an Italian lunch in Newburgh, NY with a party of seven which I was utterly disappointed with the food and mostly the excessive poor customer service. With optimism and faint hope, I hoped for good quality food or at least good customer service for the deficiency, but our waitress was inattentive who took her sweet time returning to our table for food orders and including bill payment pick-up. Our waitress appeared full of conviction, disconnected with reality and unable to service our table with clarity for situational awareness. It was not entirely busy with a full house of patrons during lunch hour. One friend and fellow Yelper, Kiddeft K.'s, soup was very oily greasy. One of my party member's pizza contained a strand of long blond hair which was sent back while the rest of us nearly finished our meals when his new pizza arrived. This is would never happen in NYC as it is a direct violation of NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene's sanitary health and food safety protocols. This strand of human hair embedded in food is a direct depiction of the cook or Sous chef who has long blonde hair and does not wear hair nets, nor gloves as required when handling food. We were not properly compensated either with a small percentage discount from the bill nor offered a lagniappe as one free dessert for the mishap hair in the pizza. No, I would not return. I am glad to remove Cosimo's On Union from my Yelp bookmark. All in all as a consequence, my gratuity was 15%. My lunch meal consists of: Herb baked shrimp $27.00 Jumbo shrimp, garlic & herb bread crumbs, rice, sauteed baby kale. I did not like the rice as it appears mushroom or black rice which was included. How about yellow rice cooked with salted butter with shrimp and kale vegetables as a substitute? The green kale vegetable was crunchy, but the breaded shrimp was refreshing taste than deep-fried breaded. The shrimp was peeled and deveined, but not harden to taste like rubber as deep-fried or batter fried. It was a good consistency. Melini Chianti $10.00 (glass) This is one of my predilection choice for red wine. It is light-bodied, bright ruby red in color with a nose of raspberry, blackberry and a touch of violet aroma. I actually tasted the blackberry. The finish was very subtle.
Be the first to ReplyI have never had a bad experience at this restaurant.
Food is consistently good, and service is always excellent. It's a friendly and fun atmosphere. I do not, as a rule - take the reviews for restaurants or business establishments under consideration before trying them out. I prefer to explore and experience for myself, before making a firm judgement. This stems from the idea that it may be an off night for a "server" or "chef"... So I like to give it a chance a few times, and then base my experience from that. When I read reviews that refer to staff members as "brain dead" or inattentive; and food as "greasy" by people who claim to be "fellow Yelpers" .. ( what does that really mean?) I have to laugh...and wonder about that person's attitude and disposition. Grain of salt time... Therefore, having dined many times at Cosimos's on Union, and enjoyed the service, staff and dining fare- I can say without hesitation that it is a truly wonderful restaurant with wonderful service. I highly recommend it. Especially, Becca - she is a delightful server.
Be the first to ReplyNice place to have a good Italian meal.
Service is good too. My favorite is their pasta a la vodka.
Be the first to ReplyOur party of 3 had very good food, but the Honey Ginger
Our party of 3 had very good food, but the Honey Ginger salad that I got to take home had no wonton noodles on it! Otherwise, we all enjoyed what we ordered. My daughter said that her salmon with broccoli rabe was the best she'd ever had. Our waitress was excellent, so I hope this wasn't her fault. The only other thing that ruined our experience was the 4 people at the table next to us. One girl was constantly hacking a horrible cough and they were so darned LOUD that you couldn't hear any of our conversation. I guess we should have asked to be moved. Cosimos is a family favorite, so I hope to eat there again soon. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------8/9/2014 UPDATE TO MY REVIEW: The owner contacted me with a nice personal message about speaking to her employees regarding the uncalled for bad service. Since this incident was an isolated one based on all of the times we've dined there and not the owner's fault, I've given a higher rating and will also go back because their cuisine is usually excellent and their service has in the past been on par. Will update about my next experience. Thanks for your professionalism, Chrissy! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cosimos in Newburgh has been a favorite of my family for many years. We've had big parties there and I've even sidetracked to stop in for my favorite dish to take out: Chicken Chinois Salad. Today, Mom and I made a special trip over to the restaurant for a late lunch. We both said that we will never go back there again. Mom's Pizza Margarita was very good, but my Chinois salad was not like it used to be. It had cheap Chinese noodles on it instead of the crisp rice noodles and the dressing was not as tasty as it once was years ago. I was given a hefty portion of salad, though. The service was the clincher for me. I guess 2 little old ladies who came for just a pizza and salad weren't deemed worthy to wait on. The waitress only came once to see if we "needed anything" and asked as she breezed by our table. If we did need something, I would have had to chase her down to get it. Mom ate half the pizza and took the rest home. It was placed in a pizza box. However, the waitress came to the table with a covered container and just said to me "Your extra dressing is in here." I was in shock as I've never had to shovel my leftovers (with my fork and HAND!) into a container even in a diner!

We've frequented all of the Cosimo's in Orange County and this location "used to be our favorite til this visit. We came here with friends and fellow yelper Tina Chan who came up to visit from NYC. It was an embarrassment for us for recommending this place. Our waitress was not attentive at all and pretty much brain dead, the food didn't come out all at once and one of our guest ordered a pizza that came with unfortunately a long blond hair. When we told the waitress about it they apologized and made a new pie that didn't get to the table til everyone else was done. We expected to either have it reduced as a courtesy for the inconvenience or even comped, but instead were ignored. My hubby's soup was also greasy and definitely not pasta fagioli. We'll never be back!
Be the first to ReplyGood food, good service.
The staff was amazing and really did a wonderful job. The ambiance was that of your typical Italian restaurant.
Be the first to Replywhat a wonderful place! The food is AMAZINGLY
what a wonderful place! The food is AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS!!!! The servers and bartenders are very welcoming. I had the steak and it melted in my mouth. Matt the mixologist, creates the most delicious drinks and the presentation is absolutely beautiful. Sit at the bar and he will put on a show. Come and see for yourself!!
Be the first to ReplyWent here for dinner with 3 other people.
Service was mediocre. Ordered calamari which was good. I had the dinner special pizza, a white pizza with shrimp and sautéed greens. Crust was super thin so it wasn't able to stand up to the toppings, resulting in a very soggy crust. Flavor was not remarkable. The rest of my party had pasta of various sorts. The serving size is enormous. Although the wait staff are courteous, they are not very attentive. We were asked if we were "still working on " our food or would we like containers to bring it home. As if dining in this establishment was a chore, hmmm.

I absolutely love Cosimo's on Union in Newburgh, NY and have frequented this restaurant several times. Each time, my experience has been nothing short of fantastic, and I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great dining experience. The best part about Cosimo's on Union is undoubtedly their wood-fired pizzas. I have had many pizzas in my life, but none can compare to the ones I have had here. The crust is perfectly crispy, and the toppings are always fresh and flavorful. Every bite is a delight, and I always leave feeling satisfied and happy. In addition to the delicious food, the staff at Cosimo's on Union is also very pleasant. They are always welcoming and attentive, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. It's clear that they care about their customers and go above and beyond to ensure a great time for everyone.
Be the first to ReplyGreat spot to eat.
Friendly staff and the plates of food are huge. Good spot if you're passing by and hungry
Be the first to ReplyAlways have a good meal.
Love the food and staff is very good. Favorite one is in Newburgh but Monroe and Middletown are also good. Been to the one in Poughkeepsie once and was good but that was some years ago.
Be the first to ReplyTake a date to this restaurant and you wont regret it.
The food quality is outstanding. The service is excellent. The atmosphere is educated. A great place in the Town of Newburgh.
Be the first to ReplyI go to the other Cosimo's locations often and always have
I go to the other Cosimo's locations often and always have a great time all around. But some coworkers and I came to the Newburgh Cosimo's last night and had an awful experience. Btw my coworkers and I all work in a restaurant so we are more than forgiving. Most of the food was the wrong temperature and unseasoned. Antipasto was warm, pasta dishes room temperature, pizza and bread basket COLD. We had to repeatedly ask for extra plates & silverware, when our table went from a 2 top to a 4 top. And had to ask our waitress(Mariah) to take empty glasses & plates. OH and when she brought new (cold) bread for 2 who joined later, she used her HANDS to take the bread left from the first bread basket and threw it in the second one, casually right in our faces! Like who are you to TOUCH my food??? We were dumbfounded. The drinks & shrimp baguette app were good, but everything else on our 300$ bill & the customer was yuckk. Still left 20%. But still all 4 of us won't ever come back, & we are gonna warn others not to come!
Be the first to ReplyLove their dishes.
We order frequently. Pesto Penne, oven brick pizza, chopped salad are our faves. When my kids are here this is a regular request to dine
Be the first to ReplyThis review is for takeout, based on one order.
I got Seafood Fra Diavolo, for the substantial price of $26. Maybe acceptable if it was good but it was not. The pasta (pappardelle) was so overcooked it broke into bits when twirled around the fork, and much of it was stuck together into large clumps. The sauce was more like a broth, not the fiery marinara I have come to expect for this dish. Hardly any seasoning at all - until I discovered the chiffonned basil hiding in a corner. Not nearly spicy-hot enough for the name "Diavolo".On the positive side, there was a generous amount of seafood: clams, mussels, shrimp, and calamari (and not only the rings). All was fine except for the calamari which was tough and there was too much of that.Parking was difficult and I circled the place 3 times trying to find the entrance. It seemed that half the lot was taken up by Tesla charging stations. The plastic silverware provided for takeout was flimsy and rubbery, barely usable, and the single napkin provided was barely more substantial than a square of toilet paper.

I went here for my boyfriend's birthday and was very pleased with the menu and quality of the food. I liked the food and wine so much that we returned several times since the Summer. I would probably say it's one of my new favorite restaurants. My favorite thing to order is the mussels and tuna steak for dinner. I highly recommend everyone coming here to find a new favorite restaurant!
Be the first to ReplyThe pizza was good, the fries was good too.
My date and I noticed that the menu and how they served our food was a little different from Middletown. There is nothing wrong with it, just something we noticed, I wonder if all the restaurants do something different. Enjoy yourself.
Be the first to ReplyThe management has no clue.
My wife ordered a pizza and I a salad.Salad was great but as we started eating my wife took one bite of her pizza and could eat no more. The bottom of the pizza was burnt black. The manager said that is how they do it. But offered to do another one.The question is how can you say a burnt pizza bottom is how you do it? Plus, I would have had to wait to eat my meal until they made another, that makes for a great dining experience. The other manager was rude to my wife when she asked to see our waitress, who was wonderful, to make sure she got a tip. I will never visit this location again and I suggest you do the same. How hard is it to quality check the food you bring to your customers?
