Excellent meal and experience at Coquette
Coquette was everything we could have wanted and more. When we first made the reservation, a bit later than we should (get your reservation early), they said they could seat us at a high-top in the bar and we felt lucky to get that. We ended up arriving about 1/2 hour early and asked if they could seat us or if they would prefer we wait at the bar. They took us right in and seated us in the dining section at a regular table. We were really happy with that as the bar area is very loud and we prefer the quieter setting. Generational thing, I assume. We ordered two appetizers which we intended to share and so we asked if they could bring one first and then the other. The waiter hesitated a moment and felt the need to check how this would affect timing for later seating which was perfectly reasonable. But no problem, they brought out the first appetizer, ice cold oysters with a basil drizzle. They were fantastic. The little basil reduction was a different twist and worked incredibly well with the oysters. Next came a Tuna Crudo, with lightly pickled cucumbers and grapefruit along with a few other ingredients. Again, this was simply excellent. After finishing off the tuna, we could have lapped up what remained on the dish. For the main course, we had crispy skin sea bream which they serve crispy skin side up. One of us is not so much into skin, crispy or otherwise, so I flipped the skin side down and greatly enjoyed the fish part. My husband ate the sea bream with skin up and there was nothing left when he was finished. Coquette was a wonderful find. It is located at the Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport and has easy parking. This is a definite not-to-be-missed restaurant. I look forward to going back
Be the first to ReplyBest Lamb Meatballs, EVER!!!!
I came here while attending a conference and staying at the Omni. Little did I know my life was going to be changed. I walked in to grab a pizza to-go. While waiting I thought I'd grab a small plate, since I hadn't eaten at the conference. While looking over the menu and sipping on a beverage I heard the couple next to me raving "OMG this sauce is amazing!". A few seconds later as the bartender was clearing the dish the lady said "This was fantastic, and I LOVE THIS SAUCE" as she was literally putting a finger into the plate being pulled away for a final taste. Since the course was finished before I could see what it was, I thought "well that wasn't very classy of you, Miss. Suited-Up Business Woman...". How ignorant I was... I magically ordered the same dish. Once it appeared, I knew. I knew what I had ordered. Now I will always wish I had ordered 3 more plates. I will wish I could relocate to Boston to guaranty continued access to this dish. I will always live a life knowing that I do not have that sauce and these meatballs close by. I now know what Ambrosia tastes like, and for the rest of my life I will live knowing that I may never taste perfection again. 10/10. The pizza was good too. Nice atmosphere, clean, and a good spot. Doesn't matter, I would travel across the world to a local village that took 2 days to hike to if it meant I could get another bite of those meatballs in that delicious nectar of a sauce...
Be the first to ReplyGood food and excellent wine list right in the Omni Hotel.
I arrived at night in Boston for a business meeting the next day and was staying at the Omni Hotel. I was alone and hungry and decided to try Coquette, which is right in the hotel. I opted for a casual choice of Tuscan salad and Capri-style pizza. They have other casual choices as well as more ambitious items on the menu like steaks, seafood and fish. Even though I was on my own, I could not resist ordering a bottle from the excellent wine list (they let me take what I didn't finish back to my room). The salad was fresh and tasty. The individual pizza was very good and the Rosso di Montalcino matched it nicely (there are many much more spectacular wines on the list but I was there by myself on a business trip; so, I controlled myself). The waitress was outstanding. For some reason, my pizza was delayed in the kitchen (I was in no rush) and she took it off the bill. Great surprise for a dinner alone while on a business trip.

At the Omni? Yes, this is a 5 star bar and restaurant. The food, wine and cocktails are top notch. The servers are excellent. Will definitely be back. Hats off to the management team! Try the lobster Catalan.
Be the first to ReplyEverything on the Menu was a Hit - Cocktails and Food
After a flight cancellation, we ended up at the OMNI very hungry and were quite thankful that Coquette was open late and serving dinner! The Life in Pink was a great cocktail. We also ordered oysters, Tahitian Tuna, Joues de Boeuf, Collassal Shrimp, Shrimp Tarte and Mussels. The Tahitian Tuna and Mussels were standouts but everything was delicious!

This restaurant is a mess. The food is not that tasty. How can so many ingredients combine for so little flavor? I can handle the prices if the food was good. The menu is a mess of a combination of dishes and flavors that don’t fit together Finally, how can you let people with shorts and tee shirts and baseball hats on backwards eat at the bar? A real buzz kill for a fancy night out
Be the first to ReplyGood Service. Good Food!
We had a group of 9 Our service was very good. Our waitress helped us choose the right entrees, sides & drinks. The food was delicious- all cooked perfectly. I would go back again if in Boston.
Be the first to ReplyWe loved it!
My husband and I ate here twice on our most recent trip to Boston. We had different hosts and waiters, chose different dishes each time, and had two fantastic experiences! Every dish is delicious. The portion sizes are perfect for sharing and allow you to try multiple offerings without feeling over stuffed. The wait staff did a great job meeting our needs and offering recommendations. The design of the restaurant is also just visually stunning. Thanks for such lovely evenings!

I was staying in the hotel that hosts this restaurant. So I stopped in to get a dinner to take up to my room. The service was helpful and kind. The ambiance was excellent. While I was waiting, I ordered a non-alcoholic specialty drink - something like "Revive"? It was fantastic. And I ordered two small plates: Duck Chichons and Shrimp Provencal Flatbread. Both were excellent, and made a meal for me. Would love to go back and have a meal on site.
Be the first to ReplyNice ambiance, terrible service
Came here for a quick dinner with the wife before catching a show nearby. It was a Wednesday night, so not very busy. Seated right away. Sat at our table for 15 minutes waiting for our waiter to even look at us. Nothing- even as other tables around us were being taken care of, including a table that was seated after us. This, along with our limited time was enough. We just got up and left.
Be the first to ReplyExpensive hotel restaurant
This is a hotel restaurant. It is located inside the Omni Hotel in the Seaport. The food was good but very expensive for the portion sizes. The menu is a bit limited to mostly either expensive small portions/snacks or ridiculously large and expensive steaks. Restaurant is extremely loud with blaring EDM music. Our server was all business and not very personable. It was nice to try but I wouldn’t go back.
Be the first to ReplyPseudo-French restaurant without culinary coherence
This restaurant is located in the Omni Seaport hotel right across from the Boston convention centre. The interior clearly signals upscale dining and the main clientele is likely business travellers. If you are meeting business partners for dinner, the first problem you encounter is the blaring music. It is simply not possible to talk to anyone who is further than one seat away. A request to turn down the volume by one of my colleagues was ignored. The menu is a linguistic and culinary potpourri. There is a lack of classic main dishes, so you might opt for several starters. Surprisingly, neither an amuse-bouche nor bread is served. While I very much liked the lamb meatballs, they came with absolutely nothing which was a missed opportunity. The equally well-executed Tahitian tuna came with crisps (waffle chips) which is a bit of an odd composition. Coquette's kitchen team can provide you with Turkish böreks, steaks, Alsatian flammkuchen, and raw oysters. The wide range of flashy items might please many customers but the lack of coherence clearly indicates an absence of culinary vision. The servers where not quite sure who ordered what dish. One main course was forgotten, but an apology was issued in liquid form. The evening was great but this was due to the excellent company I had.
Be the first to ReplyI'll be back
Went on a whim while at the Fan Expo. We dressed really nice in hope of not needing a reservation and lucked out. The place is very very nice. The food was delicious my husband had clams and I had duck chichons to start and split the long bone steak for main course. I tried the espresso martini and it was out off this world delicious.
Be the first to ReplyInteresting Food - Poor Managment
The food can be impressive here. Now that I've been a few times I like some aspects of it, but it's not reliable. On my first visit, the beef with potato puffs was great, second time very fatty. Same with a few other dishes. When it's right its great, but shouldn't be that inconsistent. On this visit, with a bunch of friends we were able to try a lot of items. Mostly very good to excellent. Drinks and wine very good as well. However, management doesn't impress me here... very impersonal and corporate. I went to the restaurant, and dined, a month before mainly to ask about reserving a specific table for our party of 6. They said no problem. When we arrived, they took us to a different table.... no explanation. When I asked they took a while and came back to with some lame excuse as to why they changed the table... that they needed that table for someone else... oh, that made me feel better? They didn't offer an apology, nothing. Just too bad, who cares attitude. That's inexcusable, and telling of their idea of hospitality. Poor at any level, but especially so given the price point here. The managers never stopped by our table the entire night. If it were me, I would have honored my word and not changed the table, but if for some reason I had to change, I would have called the guest to explain the situation, or at least mention it up front, apologized, and sent a round of drinks or a bottle of wine immediately to start the evening on a positive note. Not say nothing and hide. I won't be returning here. I'll provide some photos for the benefit of my readers. But as you all know, the dining experience is more than just the chow.
Be the first to ReplyAverage bar service
I went here a few weeks ago with some friends the food was great, we had octopus, and the green pasta, the drinks overall were made well, but the bar service was lacking at one point all of the bar tenders disappeared for 40 minutes and there were several customers stuck waiting for another round of drinks and their checks mid dinner service at around 7pm
Be the first to ReplyCoquette Boston
Coquette Boston - Except atmosphere - ( except white curtains ) the food is average - but the worse thing is the attitude of waiters , you feel like they are so exhausted and want to clean up and leave, not nice at all.. And no coffee served because their espresso machine is broken -
Be the first to ReplyFrench flair, great wines in a cool space!
Had a fantastic anniversary dinner at Coquette. Started with some fresh raw bar and a great wine from a sleepy region in France. Kudos to co-owner Henry for curating such a well thought out wine business. Snacks, small plates, and full feasts were all delightful with a French/Middle Eastern flair. Will return!
Be the first to ReplySuperb Dining Experience
Stayed at the Omni and ate here twice, once for drinks and appetizers then a full dinner. First of all the food is simply outstanding, not what one would expect at a restaurant in a mega convention hotel. The fries are out of this World and everything else was delicious from sides to dessert. Service was top notch, friendly and not the least bit pretentious. The interior is gorgeous. I would eat here even if I was not staying at the hotel. Don't get the negative reviews, we had a fabulous time including a student who was treated like a valued customer despite being a bit underdressed.
Be the first to ReplyLoving Coquette... Great New Spot
There's a lot to like here. A beautiful room... they didn't spare any expense here. Like their other places, they know how to design a venue with great detail that exudes luxury. I can see the possibility of things going off the rails, as it's a large place, many of the tables are tight, and the crowd can get loud... had the same feeling at one of their other hot spots, Mariel.
However, the chow was fantastic. We went very early, before the onslaught of people. So, it was great. Upon leaving, I could see the frenzy, the noise beginning. Some people come for that, not me. So, come off peak if you want to enjoy the meal, the atmosphere, the service... and not come to play.
Drinks are perfect, served in excellent, proper stemware. Wines by the glass are well chosen. They have a fine wine list overseen by Henry Aime Amar, their veteran Wine Director. Nice to see the dedication to wine, so rare these days.
Our chow was great. Highly recommend the Borek Spring Rolls, the Tahitian Tuna served with fantastic homemade Potato Chips. the Joues de Boeuf was perhaps my favorite dish... tender braised beef cheeks with awesome potato puffs. We also loved the Merda de Can, spinach dumplings.
Everything was so good we had to try desserts. The chocolate/coffee Cafe Bizcocho and the Orange Ricotta Cheesecake... both delicious... winners.
We really loved our meal.
VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Beautiful room
We enjoyed Coquette for a celebration dinner. This new spot can be hard to book, and was quite busy for our Saturday dinner. The restaurant is divided into several dining areas with a stunning main dining room and a more subdued looking bar area, with a bustling lively crowd. Noise level is high, but we did not find it a bother.
While I have no complaints about the food, I did expect a bit more polished service from the staff. We had a personable and friendly waiter, but he did forget one item that we ordered. Initially food came from the kitchen at a breakneck pace and I was concerned that we would be finished in 20 minutes, but things leveled out to a better pace. I suspect most people come here and treat the menu "tapas" style. You may want to pace your food order accordingly.
The menu itself is interesting, all the plates are on the smallish side, but we found 3-4 plates for 2 people to be sufficient for our appetite, and left us comfortable for dessert. I suspect the menu to be a challenge for some, but we enjoy interesting menus. Oddly, there were very little in the way of greens or vegetables, a serious shortcoming on the menu. We started with some crispy and delicious spring rolls and a "Ham and chips", which was an unusual presentation of in house made potato chips, ham and covered with cheese.
Cocktails were very tasty and beautiful, pricey but not very strong.
I think it will take a little time to see how this restaurant and menu evolves.
Horrendous Experience. Won’t be going back again
The scene is horrendous, lots of wanna be’s who are loud and obnoxious. The staff lacks a sense of good service and making you feel welcome. There’s nothing French or Basque about the cuisine. Been to true French and Basque restaurants and this place is far, far from these types of cuisine. Waiters knowledge of their wine list is a -5 in a scale of 1-10. Extremely disappointed about everything and there’s no way I’ll be going back. Boston needs better restaurants and this isn’t one of them.
Be the first to ReplyCute trappings, ok food, wretched service.
I’m not sure where to begin this review, my experience was almost farcical. I was drawn into this place because of how stylish and fun it looked and I wanted to support Boston’s foray into stylish eaters but this place doesn’t have much to back up its lavish looks.
It’s loud, which isn’t a sin and is tolerable, but when paired with a waitstaff who doesn’t seem to care what you are saying or asking, especially when you have dietary requests in your party doesn’t exactly instill the greatest feeling of confidence. We ordered our drinks and food anyhow, the cocktails were fine, not delicious, not much to even comment on but they were drinkable. Our food arrived and it was ok, up until a point. It was overly fussy in a way that didn’t make live up to the posh trappings of the locale instead coming across as a overly pretentious lipstick on a pig situation where bar food type dishes were spruced up with too much salt, odd spices, and creamy sauces.
The moment that switched over the mood of the evening from open-minded-tolerance to absolutely-not was when I looked down in my spring roll appetizer and found a bug frolicking around in it. I thought my spring roll was different and was enjoying it fine up until that point and then I lost my appetite completely. I gave the plate away and they asked if I wanted another made, what for? My appetite was gone and unfortunately more food was coming.
I grin and bear it wondering how this bug got there as my date laughs over it maybe saying that’s what gave my dish the unique flavor I commented on earlier in the evening as he struggled to cut his “tender” steak (it was so chewy, rubber would be easier to masticate). Eventually we wait, and wait, looking miserable and perhaps forlorn at are disappointing evening. If you’ve read other reviews about this place I don’t think you need to hear it from me how bad the service is here.
Eventually we do get the check and of course we are charged for the insect spring rolls. I went to the front desk and asked for the manager who claimed ignorance of the issue which is all well and good considering he was walking around the restaurant the entire time we were there observing things but seemed to have missed this. He checked on it and said he wasn’t alerted because I gave the plate to a bus boy who did’t speak English. Regardless I relayed that it was tasteless to be charged for it as it ruined my ability to enjoy the rest of my meal. He then comped me the paltry amount of it but didn’t seem to care that the night was ruined which is a stark contrast to other dining situations we’ve experienced lately (shoutout to the place with a name that means “witch” in Italian). He then said that next time he sees me he will give me a glass of “French Champagne” which is silly because after that crummy experience I am not giving them any more of my money, they got well more than they deserve this time. Also, can’t help but feel that this was a dig at my intelligence because all champagne is from France.
Definitely avoid this place, the service was so bad it had me questioning reality.
Super trendy, not for foodies
Service was extremely slow and the waiters did not engage in much discussion around the food (not proactively). The restaurant was near empty when we arrived and we waited quite some time just to order our initial drinks. The menu looked extremely interesting but execution of the dishes was lackluster. A couple of the dishes were over-salted. The best part of the venue is the ambience and the decor; overall the atmosphere is fantastic. Trendy spot but the food and service will need to be elevated to be successful long-term.
