Great hidden gem.
located at the corner of a quiet neighborhood, open kitchen and low key setting. they have a great wine list if you are particular about what to pair with your food they are happy to help. if you want to just have drinks and something to snack on , that's totally fine, they have a big snack list that perfect for just nibble and sip. I had crab risotto for starter, it doenst look/taste like a typical risotto but flavor is on point and balanced well. i had a hilibut for main, which is perfectly seared and topped with trout roe. there are a lot other dishes on the menu that i want to try. will come back again for more

Absolutely delightful little neighborhood place with impeccable service, deliciously upscale yet not-too-fussy cuisine, a great wine list, and tranquil setting that strikes the right balance of energizing yet not burdening. With a large appetite you can enjoy many yummy dishes, and best to come with friends so that you can get lots of their 'snacks' and 'starters.' We were only three people for dinner after having a late lunch. Duck Terrine with jam was out of this world, one of the best I've ever had. Super flavorful and generously portioned. Next was a Partridge which likely was the first time I've eaten one - but won't be my last. There were many great looking dishes, including fallow deer which our friend really enjoyed. Overall fantastic - I know this review is simple and short, but just trust me and all the other reviews which happen to be 4-5 star, it is well worth your while to dine here.
Be the first to ReplyReally enjoyed lunch here.
The menu was interesting and the waitress gave some solid recommendations that came quickly. The food tastes wonderful and was light yet hearty which I was not expecting. Wine list looked great too. Highly recommend

Amazing al fresco lunch, that even a passing drizzle could not ruin. The staff were exceedingly friendly, accommodating and thoughtful (they made various attempts to shield us from the rain). The menu was just long and varied enough for us to want to order too much but again the staff came through W some good recommendations and we were ultimately stoked with the items selected - the truffle ravioli, pork and rabbit rilletes, guinea fowl and artichoke. Each were bursting with nuanced flavours, bright and rich and sweet and salty. Washed that down w a kumquat martini and negroni. Perfection.

What else can I say. Especially loved the Yuzu buttered fish (cod? I think). Creamy buttery with a scent of Yuzu. Couldn't event get a photo before finishing it.

This is a lovely restaurant with delicious, inventive food and remarkable attention to detail. We had two three-course meals and some of the snacks - that was ample for two adults and three children aged nine to 11. Among the highlights were the beef tartare (truly superb), the hoggett and ravioli. The kids loved the lime and lavender lemonade (Tessa: "I've never tasted anything like it") and there was complimentary sparkling water served. Very pleasant staff with a nice personal touch. We sat outside on Bolsover Street, which was quiet and a good place to people watch during this Monday lunchtime in the summer.

What a find! On accession, you find a restaurant that ticks all the right boxes and Clipstone is definitely one of the, We came for a leisurely lunch and sat outside on a nice summer's day. Unfortunately, they only have benches with no back support but this was a minor inconvenience. The prix fixe lunch menu is great value: £22 for two courses or £26 for three. We are all very pleasantly surprised at the high quality of the food. I started with the burrata which was fresh, light and delicious. The ravioli stuffed with ricotta and walnuts were also cooked perfectly. We shared a few desserts and the highlight was definitely the strawberries with ice cream and herb granita (parsley, mint, coriander). Such a lovely play on textures and flavours. The service was also attentive and friendly. He was great!I am looking forward to coming back here again.
Be the first to ReplyIncredible, modern European / Mediterranean in Fitzrovia.
Creative cuisine but not too over-the-top, could eat here regularly. Casual, cool setting. Great friendly service. Cool Neighbourhood corner restaurant with interesting wines from younger wine makers.
Be the first to Replygreat food and easy to share.
snail is great, and lombo. lemon raviioli is very fruity and fresh. Oh, onglet is quite a big portion. make sure you left enogh room for it. very nice staffs and do ask for wine recommendation as you might end up a bottle of surprisingly good wine.

Really fabulous food and wine selection - make sure to book a few days ahead. It's a small space so they do fill up. Everything is designed for sharing through my boyfriend did manage the onglet on his own (as I am vegetarian).Everything was exceptionally flavourfill. The pumpkin tempura was lovely, the celeriac ravioli in an herbed sauce was a hit, and make sure to order their fabulous bread. They have a great selection of wine, including some reasonably priced selections on tap, plus some creative cocktails. If you are looking for a great date spot, this is a fabulous option.

In an effort to not overeat, my husband and I decided to split six small plates and dessert (of course, we ended up ordering two desserts, the pannacotta was so good). Our choices: ox heart carpaccio, shrimp crudo, pork/rabbit/fois gras rillettes, baby artichokes, ricotta ravioli, and rabbit (okay, so only my husband ate the bunny dish). Friendly, informative food service in a nice, casual environment. A good wine list with a fair number of choices by the glass. Am definitely looking forward to our Friday night dinner at Portland, a "sister" restaurant to Clipstone Restaurant.

Clipstone is a cozy, beautifully set restaurant in Fitzrovia. Food that makes you think "how did they make this?!" ... The menu is a bit daring, with offerings you wouldn't find at your average reso. Every dish is thoughtful, full-flavored and dynamic (seriously I just used that word to describe food!). They are smaller plates for the money (hence my 4 and not 5 star) but still worth it for a special occasion. I will come back simply for the rice pudding dessert with quince and lemon thyme --- holy wow! The Jerusalem artichoke and longhorn beef were also outstanding. Strong wine on tap offerings, which I personally love.
