Great restaurant in Long Island City!
It's hard to get a reservation here but I'm glad we persevered. The drinks were great, especially the espresso martinis. I'd actually never had Mexican wine before, but really liked the bottle of red we ordered. The service was excellent for such a busy restaurant - really friendly and nicely timed. And, of course, the food was great from start to finish. We especially loved the sopecitos. I will definitely try to get a reservation when I am back in New York.

Nice restaurant I had one of the best margaritas ever a bit pricey so only had one. Food was good, great starter of tortillas and guacamole. Main meal was fine I had the enchiladas. Loved the desert of ice cream. Overall a nice relaxing place to eat.

We went to this well-known Mexican restaurant full of expectations but we were quite disappointed. All the food was good but simply said not a good value for money , prices are too high for what you get. It's overrated, you find elsewhere plenty of good mexican restaurants where to eat for half the price.

Having read a number of reviews, I was excited to find out how you make tacos Michelin star quality. Unfortunately I actually found them a bit bland, the lime was the main flavour of the brisket and I felt like I had a tastier version in a little family restaurant in Antwerp recently. The mains were good and portion sizes were large, my wife liked the Mole de Piaxtla in particular, but overall I couldnโt help but feel a bit disappointed having had such high expectations.

We used to come to this restaurant once e few months before the land. It was great. We ordered our usual favorites and they were all horrible. Basically inedible. We had a guest so we roughed it through. We will never go back.

40.74357 -73.95434 this popular one-Michelin-starred restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating. Inside, the ceiling soundproofing is not effective enough: not an intimate place for a romantic dinner. With the local Catholic priest sitting at another table, I think the noise problem will be forgiven if the food is delicious. Expectations are high. In May 2023 we ordered the carne asada medium rare, a double โRโ ranch skirt steak with roasted poblanos and beans ($38). Marinated in tequila, it was delicious. Perfectly cooked, juicy and great in flavour and texture. A dish that keeps guests coming back. For dessert, we ordered the chocolate mousse ($10). Excellent ending to a good dinner. Ordering the wine requested a knowledgeable waiter. The white Pinot Grigio Pitars 2020 โBraida Santa Ceciliaโ from Italy ($15 a glass) was unremarkable in flavour. Probably not a Pinot Grigio but a Chianti Blanco. Next time order Mexican wine at a Mexican restaurant. So, we did and the Misiรณn Blanco 2020, Santa Tomas, Baja California, Mexico ($14 a glass) was much better in flavour. But for the same price, check out new wine countries. Service was personal, attentive and effective. When the priest left, the owner and chef came to say goodbye and the priest gave them his holy blessing by placing his hand on their heads. Casa Enrique offers really tasty Mexican dishes. The wine list needs an upgrade, as does the soundproofing, God willing. Recommended.

I really advise you to start with guacamole - itโs very fresh and tasty there. There are starters options, different types of enchiladas and tacos. Be notified: portions are really big, some dishes (for example, Chamorro de Borrego) are definitely to share :) by the way, Chamorro de Borrego is awesome! There is incredible choice of margaritas and other cocktails. Staff is very friendly and welcoming, our waitress helped us with order and everything was very tasty.

Weโve been looking for a good Mexican Restaurant for years. We found it here. ! Great basics, - chips, guacamole, enchiladas, salads and exotic mixed drinks. Comfortable With sleek white decor and most of all mellow music. Not gloppy - good style from the south of Mexico. Different and delicious

I was in neighborhood getting my car fixed so decided to come since they got one star otherwise I really canโt see myself traveling here even though itโs a nice neighborhood with newly built condos nearby. Service was quick and professional. The brisket tacos are best I ever eaten. The lamb shank entree was too salty but felt fine with taco wraps. I kinda wanted to enjoy it alone with rice but just too salty. Cocktails were all good. Place gets really busy fast even at the bar as the local regulars come here religiously. I didnโt feel I ordered a lot but felt really full and probably over-ordered.

Long Island City has become a pleasant place to visit for a good meal, especially in good weather. Casa Enrique fit the bill. We shared an enchilada dish of assorted ingradients, then had a mole and albondigas. All the dishes were a cut above. Sitting outside was nice on a good day, but I wanted the interesting dรฉcor of the interior, which was full. Maybe next time.

We have arrived by taxi because we we were wearing smart clothes but I suggest that one should wear casual clothes and takes the subway. Upon arrival we have recognized that we were absolutely overdressed. The place has earned the Michelin star with its dishes. It has turned out soon. Our tequila based cocktails and appetizers were really delicious. We were also really impressed by the main courses. On the other hand the desert was average. Service was fast, friendly and nice. We have really enjoyed the atmosphere also. At the end we could meet the owner, Cosme Aguilar with whom we had an interesting and enjoyable discussion. Absolutely great place and very good value/price ratio!

I went to go to Sunday brunch with my family. I had our dog with us and we needed an outdoor table since dogs aren't allowed indoors. We have the dog with us and we tell them we have a dog. They said its 30min wait. 30mins later I get a call said my table is ready. I go back I see they are setting up a table outside and they give it to someone else right in front of me. I ask hey got a call my table is ready. They said yes it is indoors.... and they said we didn't know you had a dog with you. I don't know how I can make it more clear that we have a dog..... They said its going to take more time to get a outdoor table. Meanwhile they gave the table outside to someone else. I told them that they didn't care. They didn't apologize not even a Sorry. At least own up to a mistake that's all. I'll never go again.
Be the first to ReplyOVER AN HOUR WAIT FOR SUBPAR FOOD
Waited over an hour for food. ordered some tacos and a chicken quesadilla.
tacos were dried out and the quesadilla barely had anything in it.
place wasnt even busy and the service and food was horrible. not sure what happend to this place but i used to love going their it has fallen off big time
Saturday afternoon lunch
Enjoyed delicious lunch at cute wooden outdoor table for two which line the sidewalk in front of this restaurant. I had the chicken enchiladas with mole sauce while hubby enjoyed the tacos Amado. Both were great and he ate my 3rd enchilada as 2 were plenty for me. Servers all were masked, fast & pleasant.

Harboring memories of great food, we headed back to Casa Enrique for the second time in a couple of months. We weren't disappointed. The guacamole, jicama/beet salad, and ceviche were all wonderful. The mole sauce over rice and the tenderest possible chicken was sublime. The tres leches cake was beyond rich.
One caveat: prices are not listed on the QR code menu for some strange reason. So order from the online menu. This place is costly! Keep tabs on your tab.
Marvelous Mexican
A terrific, upscale restaurant in NYC's latest big gentrification project, Long Islsnd City. Amazing Dona Blanca enchilada, lovely ceviche, perfect flan. Outdoor dining with heaters during these Covid- ridden days. We will be back!

Their guacomole with totopos is super yum, and we had the most amazing crab tostadas at Casa Enrique - seriously, the best I've ever had. If you ever find yourself there, order them, and don't order to share!
We tried various other dishes, including the market fish tacos, pork belly tacos and the chicken mole de piaztla - out of these three dishes we enjoyed the pork belly tacos the most.
A highly delicious evening.
Consistently delicious, upscale Mexican cuisine in a casual setting
You must try the enchiladas - the chicken verde or chicken mole. So good! Their cocktails are well-crafted and very tasty!
Be the first to ReplyFantastic tacos with amazing tequila list
This is a Michelin rated Mexican restaurant. The food I had was excellent and the margaritas were out of this world. For an appetizer I had the guacamole with totopos, which was made fresh in house. I wish I had ordered the spicy instead of mild. It was very good, and very fresh and creamy, but I would have appreciated a little more flavor. I had the suadero (brisket) tacos, which were slow cooked and so tender and flavorful. I also had the pastor tacos, pork marinated in chiles and pineapple, also tasty. I did order top shelf platinum tequila in my margaritas, clase azul plata, and they were priced accordingly, but they were also the best margaritas I had in my life. The restaurant is located in Long Island City, and has a laid back community vibe. My server wasnโt spectacular. She wasnโt malicious about it; I just donโt think she was aware of how inattentive she was. I was there for over two hours and maybe saw her three times; itโs the first time Iโve tipped just 15% in a long while. Again, she was pleasant, just absent minded. Maybe it had something to do with the new world of post-COVID dining. That did NOT take away from my experience, however. Everyone, other servers and busboys, as well as either the manager or possibly owner, pitched in to make sure I was taken care of. They were all very kind and made sure to keep the margaritas flowing and made sure I was pleased with my visit. I was even given a complimentary tres leches to go. Despite dragging it across Long Island city and on a ferry ride and a Lyft ride, it was still delectable and creamy and rich. I canโt imagine how amazing it would be in house.
The people here care about what they are doing. They deserve the accolades they get. Fantastic ambience, stellar drinks (HUGE tequila list), and a specialized menu full of amazing food.
Excellent Brunch
After being secluded at home four months, we needed a good meal and that is the reason we went to Casa Enrique for brunch.
As usual the food and service was excellent!!
We had ceviche, avocado and tostadas de jaiba as appetizer. My friend and I had the eggs with chorizo, black beans and potatoes with poblano, delicious and a big portion. The men had the enchiladas de pollo with green sauce also very good.
Dessert coffee ice cream.
We enjoyed the food and the service !! And also seen this good restaurant open again!!
Welcome back Casa Enrique!!
My favorite
Casa Enrique is the best Mexican restaurant in NYC and also has the best margarita Iโve ever had (Aguachile). From the appetizers to the main courses to the delicious desserts, everything is made to perfection by Chef Cosme. The service is excellent and you feel like home. Definitely a place to go to in NYC.
