A must-visit hotel for style, excellent service and a supremely great experience!
This hotel is a must-go for anyone looking to stay in this part of LA. The whole feel of the hotel is retro-Hollywood fabulous, and the rooms are very comfortable. More than this, the enthusiasm and graciousness of everyone who works at the hotel were remarkable and unequaled by any other hotel we have ever stayed at (even the 5-star hotels). We felt thoroughly looked after, and no request was too much, even including a late checkout so I could conduct a last-minute business video call. Even the valet service was unbelievably friendly. And the restaurant and bar are gorgeous, with very delicious food and cocktails. Our only regret was that we didn't book a longer trip. We can't wait to go back.

To say this is a jewel of a hotel is not enough praise! The hotel is gorgeous and a tranquil spot amidst a busy part of the world - the lobby and pool area are elegant and oh! so comfortable; the bar is beautiful, and the rooms have every possible amenity, including an amazingly comfortable bed. I was impressed by the quiet of the room even overlooking a large dinner party that was held in the evening - we couldn't hear anything. We also loved the proximity to hiking in Griffith Park with spectacular views of the LA Basin. I would highly recommend the Cara - we have stayed in many different hotels all over Southern California over the years and the Cara is a true gem!
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful and clean and welcoming except for…
The staff was wonderful and welcoming. The first room was a very comfortable twin. When we needed to extend our stay, a twin was not available so my son went to a different hotel. My room was comfortable and clesn and fine until it was time to dleep. There was a terrible sound of what seemed like industrial floor cleanets thst persisted for hours. It was a terrible nights sleep.
Be the first to ReplyGood location, really good food, absolutely superb people.
The hotel is in a convenient location. Even though the rooms are a bit small, they make up for all of that with the best staff I have seen in a long time. They are courteous, friendly, attentive and eager to serve. The food is very good, but it’s the people there that truly stand out and make it memorable stay.
Be the first to ReplyLove the Cara
I was so charmed and impressed by the Cara. They overdeliver on style and service. I really felt like I wasn't at a corporate chain -- there's a person-to-person warmth. I know the whole place was a conversion from a regular motel and I looked into the history of the place when I was staying there. The old motel they converted was also a pretty beloved and safe motel for the tier it was in. I had been worried this place had some sort of bad history but honestly it's just good vibes at the Cara and their renovation has been gorgeous. Great beds! Small rooms if that's a problem for you but we didn't mind it. We'll be back.

Hotel staff changed my reservation and didn’t inform me. Paid $1100 to sleep on an air mattress. Homeless people everywhere the moment you step out of hotel. Took 2 steps past front steps and homeless guy pulls pants down exposing himself. Not safe area at all. Not a boutique hotel just dressed up motel. Super slippery bathroom floors due to lack of doors. Staff was rude and very unhelpful.
Be the first to ReplyThis is such a lovely hotel
This is such a lovely hotel. I'm grateful for Ceasar, at the front desk who was especially friendly and helped me get an early check in to shower and rest after a long flight from NYC. I really enjoyed the text process directly to the front desk, it was helpful for several questions I had and items I forgot. I ate a nice lunch at the restaurant by the pool, the staff was delightful and the truffle fries were to die for. Ask for the Cara Cara sauce! Be aware that there is a restaurant in the middle of all the rooms that can be loud in the evenings. If you are on East Coast time and needing to go to bed early the noise is difficult to handle. It did all quiet down completely by 11pm but that is 2am for me. I would reco this hotel to anyone with the evening noise caveat.
Be the first to ReplyA Jewel in East Hollywood
A jewel adjacent to Thai Town, Little Armenia and the southern tip of Griffith Park. They took an old style motel and turned a very classy, original and elegant hotel, bar and restaurant. The vibe is outstanding. If you love to hike or walk, the location can't be beat as you are steps away from all the trails in Griffith Park. Highly recommend.

Beautiful boutique hotel in the mid le of Hollywood! The room was small, but perfect. The linens are super cozy and the bed was very comfy. We did not get to eat during our stay but would love to come back Highly recommend!
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful, relaxing, design-centric.
What a truly pleasant experience. The rooms have a minimal and clean design. The restaurant is stunning and the food is outstanding. The bar has an intimate vibe and perfect ambiance; great for a romantic nightcap or to listen to the DJ while enjoying some chilled red wine. I would highly recommend this place, especially to couples. It’s beautiful here.
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful property, cheap on amenities
Stunning property with Mediterranean ambience, the rooms are beautiful and the bed is like a cloud! Amenities are not great - you are charged for everything including parking and even coffee and water. Sitting in the outdoor area is restricted to dining guests only which I found very tacky considering all the open space at the time. While I had a beautiful stay, I think it’s a little ridiculous to pay these prices and receive little to no complimentary additions.

Be the first to Replyodd place for a night stay
this is basically a courtyard restaurant that happens to have some rooms. probably upscale reno of a cheap motel back in the day. room doors open to restaurant tables literally a couple of feet away. loud music playing that doesnt really fit the vibes of the place. super weird . should have read up more before booking and thats on me but not sure who to recommend this hotel to. maybe couples that are high...

Food was delicious & love the ambiance. The aesthetics are on point !! The staff was friendly and they have convenient valet parking as well. Boutique style with excellent service & style. It’s a must see if your in the LA area.

We’ve been to LA countless times.. our kids have lived here for 20 years.. we have stayed in numerous hotels, but this was our first time at Cara.. we totally enjoyed our stay. The hotel is lovely and lively.. our room, though small, was stylish and well appointed. The bed was extremely comfortable. The staff is young, well trained and friendly.. and our dinner with our family, several of whom have dietary restrictions, was excellent. Will definitely be back.

The hotel was very nice and priced very well. I stayed with my daughter so we had the room with twin beds. Small but the beds were so comfortable. And it was so nice to be able to go outside our door and have a great breakfast by the pool. Such a pretty hotel. Staff was amazing!!! The bathroom could use a shelf or a piece of furniture to set toiletries on but that is the only complaint.
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful location and an A+ staff
I was incredibly impressed with every aspect of my time at Cara. From the exemplary staff, Kristina and Alex in particular, and every single staff member we came in contact with, to the food and beautiful aesthetic of the hotel. I’ll definitely be returning and recommending! Thank you Cara Hotel for providing such a warm and welcome atmosphere.
Be the first to ReplyGreat little hotel
If you want to explore east side of LA this is a great option. The rooms are comfortable and the staff was helpful and gracious. The open air restaurant is fabulous- it’s not only a pretty spot but it had some of the best food in town. The cocktail bar has indoor and outdoor options which are equally attractive and welcoming. Only drawback is no fitness option but I hear this is coming soon. Great hotel option that didn’t break the bank.
Be the first to ReplyLovely Stay & Excellent Customer Service!
I visited Cara Hotel previously when my sister stayed. Had a work trip, so I decided to book a 1-night stay via Hotel Tonight. I was very impressed by the service, room, and amenities. Everyone from the front desk to the valet were super friendly. Not at all the fake friendly customer service you usually get.. but employees seemed to genuinely like working there and want to provide the best experience for your stay. The lobby and room are as gorgeous in photos as it was in-person. My room was super clean upon arrival and had a nice mini bar/room service. The restaurant is also perfect for getting drinks and vegetarian/vegan friendly dinner. Would stay here again and recommend to anyone looking to book a nice stay in LA! *But I will say that the hotel is a bit on the noisy side. My room was on the lower level, so it was a bit loud until the restaurant guests left (11/12pm). So great for a night stay later in the evening but not for early sleepers. Bring ear plugs if you need! :) -Kristine

My favourite hotel in LA! I can't wait to go back -- the staff were super, the room was gorgeous, everything was so clean and fresh. I only wish I'd stayed there longer! The balcony room was perfect for warm nights.
