This place lives up to it’s good reputation!
Great martinis served in the Bar! It enticed me to look at the dinner menu! I had the Ribeye steak with a side of whipped potatoes. I end this dining experience with their signature brownie! Service was first rate!

My how the mighty have fallen. The management firm now operating the Bar and Grill falls short of previous excellence. Servers slow w water then drinks. 4 shrimp on the po-boy, FROZEN onion rings. Manager did step in to help serve mains. It was okay, but previous attention to detail, and quality of food are a loss. The abruptly closed main dining room- breakfast only a sad second verse of refrain.

The volume was low enough to hear each other talking but background music was very pleasing. We had shrimp & grits and a Cobb salad w/ duck gumbo. Both were prepared well. The cocktail was refreshing. It was our waiters first night and he did well. The bar is classy and the hotel is also a classic. We will come back soon.

Great location and a menu with reasonable variety. Recommend the short ribs and wedge salad. The special was beef stroganoff and was fantastic!

In town for work and stayed across the street at another hotel, but decided to try out the Capital. The Shrimp and Grits cannot be beat! Our waiter recommended and shared that they were the best item on the menu... he was not wrong! Wait staff were prompt, attentive, and helpful in ordering. Atmosphere was relaxed, which was nice after a long day of meeting. Highly recommend.

We went for drinks and ended up eating at the bar because we loved the lively atmosphere and the bartenders were fun. We had the potato soup and pasta dish. It’s a pretty restaurant in the Capital Hotel which is also lovely. Really enjoyed it. So much that we went back the next night.

Was an evening of plusses and minuses. The plusses were the exuberant service, the incredible pimiento cheese and homemade crackers, and the fried okra. The minuses were the terribly overcooked snapper that was tough and had too much Tony Chachere's was used in the sauce the had exactly two crawfish tails. ad then there was the polenta underneath, that was lumpy, cold and inedible. Polenta is basically grits for gosh sakes. And one of the servers helpers was chewing gum with great abandon. a real turn off even in a diner, much less a "nice" restaurant.

Top notch! We aren’t from around here, went by the reviews here on Trip Advisor. We felt under dressed but the service was phenomenal and they assured us we were fine! Food was absolutely delicious! 100% recommend!

Mike was wonderful! He provided several drink and dinner suggestions. After an exhausting day this made my evening a pleasure.

We ate here 4 yrs ago. It was a great meal, great service for a fair price. The menu only has 5 entrees now. There were only 2 servers for the whole restaurant. Drinks came. Ordered dinner, my husband ordered medium rare hamburger & french fries. The burger was well done. Fries were hot & good. No condiments were offered. I ordered Branzino with white wine sauce. The fish was maybe 2 ounces served over frozen mixed vegetables. It was okay. I was starving after spending the day in an airport. For $32.00 for my meal wasn’t worth it. Server never came back until she brought the bill. Won’t be back.
