Great place to host your wedding!
Canoe restaurant is one of the wedding venues that takes weddings to new heights – literally 54 floors above Toronto. Between breathtaking views, amazing sunsets and twinkling city lights, where earthy tones and modern romance intersect, this has to be one of the coolest places to host a modern wedding. As a wedding photographer I can highly recommend this place for weddings and other events.
Be the first to ReplyWay overrated and overpriced
Overpriced food with super small portions and the service was lack luster and didn’t even get a window seat and did nothing for a birthday. The prices are incredibly unreasonable and all they have is the view. Definitely recommend to avoid.

Were happy with the entire experience except we had to go at 5.30 to guarantee a window table. Not many vegetarian options...next to no side dishes. Server managed to get me a lunch cheese pasta dish with assorted greens that was delicious. Very good service. View was delightful!

Dining at Canoe has been a bucket list item for me and my wife and I finally had the opportunity while visiting Toronto. The experience certainly lived up to expectations! First of all, the location and ambiance is impressive. On the 54th floor overlooking downtown Toronto. All tables have a sensational view. The atmosphere is lively but not loud. It was easy to have a conversation while enjoying the meal. The menu is small however has something for everyone. The onion soup (served in an onion!) was an unexpected highlight. My wife had the halibut which was sensational and my pork three ways was well done and had many flavours. The plating and attention to detail is impressive and service but everyone too notch. The wait staff was extremely knowledgeable about the food and wine and service meticulous. Price is what to be expected by a 5 star restaurant but I didn't think outrageous by any means. Especially when you consider dining at Canoe as an experience Vs just a meal. So pleased that I finally had the chance to experience Canoe. I will be sure to pick another special occasion to do it again.

While most reviews will share the outstanding views, what impressed us most was the attention to every detail given to each part of our Chef's Table Experience! Chef Ron entertained our questions, the staff described each dish with ease and pride; the food rivals any of the world's best restaurants! While this was our 25th anniversary dinner, we soon realized that this experience should not be reserved for celebrations as it is an experience to be shared for its own sake. Thank you Chef and staff for making our evening so very special! We've already planned for our return! Bravo! Kristan and Jennifer Straub

Dining at Canoe in Toronto was a culinary journey that celebrated Canadian cuisine and the art of fine dining. The restaurant’s location on the 54th floor offered breathtaking views of the city skyline and Lake Ontario, setting the stage for an exceptional meal. The menu was a tribute to local ingredients and creative combinations, highlighting the diversity of Canadian flavors. The tasting menu was an exploration of innovative dishes and exquisite presentations. The staff’s deep knowledge of the menu and their dedication to providing impeccable service made the dining experience truly exceptional. Pairing the dishes with selections from the extensive wine list added to the overall enjoyment. Canoe is not just a restaurant; it’s a celebration of Canada’s culinary heritage and a must-visit for anyone seeking an extraordinary dining experience in Toronto.
Be the first to ReplyPerfect place for a grand dinner with a view!
This is an upscale restaurant with a great view and an interesting menu of modern international character with some Canadian twist (local game and fish). As a foreigner, one might have liked even more of these Canadian ingredients, but as it is, the cuisine is near perfect. So was the wine that came with the tasting menu (there were two choices accompanying the tasting menu, at 100 or 200 CAD, we chose the first option): international (some Canadian wine, too), and some combinations were remarkable (all were really convincing). Service is formal, but with a personal touch (never too much: the perfect balance). One smaller slip (one white wine not cold enough; however, it was so good it could stand up to that) was immediately and gracefully acknowledged. The charm (and competence, especially with the wine: there was no separate sommelier) of our waiter significantly added to the experience - which has its price, but is worth it. Plus: splendid view!
Be the first to ReplyCulinary experience to try at least once in our life!
We specifically went to the Canoe restaurant to celebrate my birthday. I had booked a month in advance and had specified this event. When I arrived, a superb table on the edge of the window and a small sign on the table celebrating my birthday. Small details that make all the difference. We had the tasting menu with wine pairing. Superb pairings and great discoveries of world wines. I recommend. Don't expect large portions, but the research and flavors behind each dish is extraordinary. This is what we are looking for in these menu choices. Small disappointment: It is not our server who takes our orders who comes to serve and explain the dishes, but young servers who recite the explanations received in a telegraphed manner. Everything should be run by the same server. Disappointing for this style of restaurant... But what about the view, which alone is worth the trip. I recommend this restaurant at least once in my life!

Very disappointing lunch with family. Service was good BUT most of the food was mediocre if not poor. Overcooked dried out halibut and tough strip steak. Very unusual sides. A table of 5 people only received a basket with four slices of bread. Very little ambience…large round table with no placemats, tablecloth or flowers. Luckily it was a sunny day and the view was spectacular. Much more is expected from a Bonacini restaurant with those prices.
Be the first to ReplyWonderful dining experience at The Canoe restaurant
My wife and I had dinner because we heard that The Canoe was a great restaurant. We loved our dining experience. My wife had a steak and I had a dish, sorry, forgot the name of it, may have been a pork dish. The food was phenomenal. The fries were the best we have ever had. The server assistant, Vignesh, suggested a seasonal dessert and it was a perfect ending to a wonderful dining experience. The view was unbelieveable. Atop the TD Tower, we could see the islands, Lake Ontario and more. We were so impressed with the service, in particular Vignesh. He welcomed us with a smile and warm greeting. He had great knowledge of the menu and helped us to make choices. He is a great asset to the Canoe. We highly recommend this restaurant.

An incredible view with delicious food to match. Our server, Nick was simply amazing and made our experience even that much better. We had come from Vancouver for a foodie trip and this was the highlight of our week even though 2 nights before we had spent 3 times as much at another restaurant which had turned out to be more hype than anything else. The food was original and beautifully presented. We’ve added Canoe to our next doodie trip to Toronto.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent meal with top-notch service
My girlfriend and I had a wonderful meal at Canoe Toronto with excellent food and service. Unfortunately we chose a night with poor weather and so we didn’t quite get to enjoy the wonderful views! I imagine they are stunning on a clear night. To start, I had the scallop raviolo which was delicious, although on the smaller size for the price. It was one large ravioli in a delicious broth but I definitely could’ve have done with more than one piece. My girlfriend had the bluefish tuna tartare which she said was delicious and much better sized. For mains, I had the filet and cheek which was absolutely delicious and incredibly well presented. My girlfriend had the roast partridge which she very much enjoyed too. We shared a chocolate delice for dessert which was very filling but nice. The wine selection was good, although a wider selection of red wines by the glass would have been preferable. We were recommended a bottle of German riesling Spatlese which was exactly to my girlfriends specifications. Our server Nicholas was outstanding, maintaining the perfect blend of friendliness and professionalism throughout. As a young couple, we are often not taken as seriously at other fine dining restaurants but Nicholas made us feel welcome and well cared for. I would absolutely recommend Canoe and I am looking forward to returning in the future.

Excelente restaurant great food very good services and a great view We went to celebrate a birthday and it was very special
Be the first to ReplySaturday dinner review - didn't match menu
Unfortunately my surf and turf meal didn't match the menu description on Saturday evening. I managed to get a bar seat facing south with a good view of the lake. Smoke and mirrors cocktail was delicious. Tomato and crab appetizer was tasty though I had to ask for a spoon (3 tiny triangles of flatbread, which didn't resemble "pretzel grissini", weren't enough to scoop up everything!). But the so-called 35-day aged striploin steak and lobster were abysmal. Sides of potato pave and pureed carrots were not as advertised on the menu. Should have been sea lettuce and ramp butter and boulangere!!! Why are they serving banquet food instead of usual menu? Yikes. Steak was tough and chewy. My jaw hurt. At least it tastes grassy. But not aged flavour. Lobster was covered in a thick layer of breadcrumbs. Underneath was the tiniest amount of lobster meat, overcooked. So awful. Don't include bread and gluten on a menu item that doesn't state it! Server was also the bartender so I didn't receive fine service. Canoe has gone downhill, sadly.
Be the first to ReplyGreat views and a fantastic restaurant
At the bar, I had a seat facing the kitchen. I got a la carte because I didn't like several of the items on the tasting menu. Everything that I had was excellent. The S'mores Foie Gras and Gin Cured Duck Beast both caught my attention as being particularly inventive and delicious. I got one of their Canadian cheeses in place of dessert. By the glass, they offered several Canadian dessert wines. I liked the two that I tried. I explored the area after dinner and took in the beautiful views.
Be the first to ReplyTop Dollar, Top Views, slippery floors, and great plates,
If ever you want to go to a restaurant in snow storm, this is a great place to go. The restaurant is located in a building where there are a ton of lawyers offices… I have never seen so much salt at an entrance in my life 😊 This restaurant is a bit confusing to find as there is no exterior restaurant signage. However you know your headed to the 54th floor so you’re quiet aware you’re looking for the buildings elevators 🛗 The restaurant ambiance is nice. It was quite stormy when we went but it was still nice to look out at whatever view was available. The waitress seemed sort of judgemental at the beginning as we weren’t ordering alcohol drinks and wanted more time to decide exactly what we wanted. I got the feeling she thought we were cheap people that just came to check out the view. When she realized we ordered over $200 worth of apps/mains/dessert etc she seemed to warm up and talked more to us and she even took our photos Food presentation was alright, food taste overall was nice, however I was surprised they put a huge blob of mustard on the plate with steak, throughout the entire meal I had to manoeuvre around the mustard, and the parts that got on the steak was quite strong, almost to strong ( the mustard should always be on the side and give the patron the choice if this should be on the plate) my opinion There isn’t a lot of privacy between tables, so don’t come here thinking you’re going to make confidential business deals. 😂 If your walking with crutches or canes keep in mind the type of floor they have was quite slippery even without water on it. Lastly I don’t think the chefs table was anything special. It faces the kitchen, you have to look behind you or over to side to have a look at the view outside. We have gone to other chefs tables at other establishments and when you paid extra you felt you got something extra ie more privacy, a better view etc. this isn’t the case here.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing view; super food ; not cheap though!
Lovely restaurant on the 54th floor of the Wellington Building. Amazing views across the city. Food was amazing - although pricey - it was an experience we wouldn’t forget. We went on a Monday night and it was packed - so I would advise to book well in advance. Definitely a recommendation if you visiting Toronto.
Be the first to ReplyLess than Impressed
To summarize, Canoe is a pseudo-Fine dinning establishment on the strive. Its air of arrogance within its management and service staffs has no place in the now new and dynamic progressive Toronto dining scene. Visit was less than impressive and food was average at best. The pricing of their menu is the only fine-dining aspect that Canoe got right. It will be a tall order( no pun intended) for my return voluntarily.
Be the first to ReplyGreat Food and Service
Wonderful venue. My wife and I went for our 25th wedding anniversary. I told the venue that is why we were visiting and they gave us a table with a wonderful view of the CN Tower. On our table was a card waiting for us wishing us a wonderful 25th Anniversary. Our server greeted us by wishing us a happy anniversary and getting us both our first drink within what felt like seconds of us arriving. Our meal was sublime and up there with some of the best food I have had anywhere in the world. The whole experience was so good we returned for another fantastic meal 2 days later. If you are in Toronto you myat visit. The prices are reasonable and much better than the price you will pay for food that is nowhere near as good if you use the restaurant on the CN tower. Simply a must if you enjoy good food and service
Be the first to ReplyWOW! A perfect lunch!
Go to Canoe. Enjoy the view. Savour the food. You will not be sorry. I sat at the chef's rail for lunch, and it was nothing short of amazing! The chefs interact with you and talk about the restaurant and the food. The servers treat you very well. The views of Toronto from the 54th floor were spectacular. And the food, well... let's just say, I will be thinking about it until I am fortunate enough to return to this wonderful restaurant. It was a foodie's dream come true!
Be the first to ReplyReservation duly done but restaurant was closed !
Despite a reservation duly done and a written confirmation received from this restaurant, we found this restaurant being closed on July 23rd. Decided to call them and their voicemail was stating the restaurant was closed on Saturdays and Sundays for big parties and weddings…cherry on the cake is that their confirmation states they will call or email you in case they have an issue with the booking, of course, nobody contacted us. A real joke !
Be the first to ReplyWonderful view, good food, great wine selection.
At 54 floors above Toronto’s skyline, canoe offers diners a wonderful spot to relax. In cities like Chicago or Seattle, there would have been a bar facing the lake where one could perch at happy hour sipping $40 a glass French wine and enjoying poo poos of incredible delicacy. BUT, Canoe fancies itself a fine dining establishment. Although the food is very good, the service excellent, and the view to die for, I wouldn’t go there just for the food. It’s ideal for power lunches, a bite after work, or a place to check off your visiting Toronto list, but don’t go just for the food.
Be the first to ReplyMediocre at best
My family has dined at high end, fine dining establishments throughout the world. Canoe falls miserably short. The good news is that the food is good. Not great but solid. The bad news is that service was lacking and even laughable at times. We watched as the wrong food was brought to the wrong tables on numerous occasions, including ours. One of us was asked if we wanted another drink but not both of us even though we both had empty glasses. We were celebrating my wife's birthday tonight. There was absolutely no acknowledgement of it by our server. Ever. The table had a cheap pre-printed "Happy Birthday" placard on it. There was no amuse bouche. No petit fours after dinner. NO attempt at celebrating my wife's birthday. I'm happy to spend $500 USD on dinner but it will never be here again. Sad state of affairs at Canoe. Mediocre experience at best. And, your view doesn't make up for your shortcomings this evening.
Be the first to ReplySplurge, treat yourself, live a little
Was fortunate enough to have lunch here. Some would think that because it is a roof top restaurant the view out does the food. That couldn't be further from the truth. The view is amazing, the food is amazing X 2! Best mushroom soup I have EVER had, the halibut was phenomenal and the salmon was outstanding. There is nothing pretentious about The Canoe. The staff are polite and professional, the prices are fair given the location, view and food quality. All in all...... Splurge, treat yourself, live a little!!
Be the first to ReplyA destination choice
It's easy to enjoy the experience at Canoe. The view is exceptional, the wait staff professional, the Canadian-themed food perfect. Drinks are well-poured, but unsurprisingly pricey. Food is very tasty, but portions are small - again, not too surprising. Eat here, if you get the chance. It's an excellent restaurant, and you won't be disappointed.
