Be the first to ReplyFabuolous tapas
This was our second visit to this buzzing place. We had a lovely welcome( in Spanish) as we arrived and were escorted to our table. We ordered the recommended 3 tapas per person which arrived as they were ready : leeks( divine), patatas bravas( a work of art), croquettas, razor clams, padron peppers and salmon nigiri( fabuloius, crispy and with a tasty sauce). We were not rushed and all of the tapas were delicious and all the staff friendly and helpful. There is an extensive wine list of Spanish wines at a range of prices, though starting at 'reasonable'. When we went to leave, the gentleman shook me by the hand and gave us a cheery goodbye. We will be back. As this place gets busy it would be best to book.

I don’t understand the good reviews. I am a food lover and go to Spain alot but this place had poor quality food, very expensive for what it is. I think you pay for the location and not for the food. the staff was nice but won’t go back.

The pros : good choice of tapas, carefully prepared and well presented. Small selection of mains to share as well. Very good and attentive service The cons : prices are on the high side, 100 euros for 2 without any alcohol

I had an absolutely dreadful experience at Cambio de Tercio. The owner's cantankerous attitude made the atmosphere uncomfortable. He exhibited misogynistic behavior, engaged in racial profiling and confronted my mother when we offered feedback - creating an unwelcoming environment. The food was beyond disappointing – tasteless, poorly prepared and the prawns were not only unappetizing but also unprofessionally served (not cleaned or deshelled.) The Independent Newspaper's description of the tasteless food was spot-on. The lack of customer service further intensified the regrettable dining ordeal. This establishment deserves a resounding warning; no one should subject themselves to such a disgraceful and discriminatory experience…

Thank you Abel and Pedro for an unforgettable evening ! With Iberian ham from Jabugo, BBQ "Pan de Cristal" and a glass of Cava we started off our evening. The famous secret potatoes and the dry aged BBQ Rubia Galega is an absolute winner! Canarejal sheep's cheese mild and soft and the Basque Cheesecake finished off our amazing Spanish fest. Best Spanish food outside of Spain served by delightful and knowledgeable staff. Always again!
Be the first to ReplySuperb lively place
Welcoming and friendly , with unbeatable tapas. Packed and noisy with tables quite close together- it’s not a big place. Rapid service - excellent serving staff- and great range of cocktails ,wines and sherries. Wouldn’t go there if I needed to relax ! A must for the tapas fiend I was with , who swooned at every new dish that appeared .

My son took me for lunch yesterday to celebrate my birthday. Has to be one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Everything tasted amazing! Would definitely recommend
Be the first to ReplyUna cena fantastica
We had a nice welcome as soon as our taxi pulled up by a gentleman(the owner?) on the pavement outside the restaurant. The man had a clipboard with all of the table reservations and he greeted us in Spanish. There were people dining outside as well as inside and this place was buzzing-even at 7.45pm on a Sunday. We were shown straight to our table. All of the plentiful staff we encountered were very pleasant, attentive and helpful. We were brought the regular menu, the wine list and a specials menu. We chose the recommended 3 tapas-per-person. The tomatoes were nice if a little sweet for us. The padron peppers were perfect as were the ham croquettes. The patatas bravas were outstanding as well as being a work of art. We enjoyed the salmon which came with crispy croquettes and a delicious sauce. From the specials menu we chose the razor clams which were very tasty, though still had a little sand in them. We enjoyed reasonably-priced Spanish white and red wine with our meal. The staff were very patient with me practicing my Spanish. There were many other interesting things on the menu and everything going to neighbouring tables looked good. Next time we would like to try the leeks and the oxtail amongst others-hasta la vista!

We chose the restaurant as it was nearby and open late on a Sunday evening - but what an inspired choice it proved to be. Excellent food with dishes all slightly different to other tapas restaurants we have eaten in. The patatas bravas in particular was superb. Bustling vibe even on a Sunday night.

Great place and good food but I felt I was being rushed by the service. Made a reservation for 7.30 and I was warned in advance that I had to leave the table by 9.30, which was totally fine.
Once there, by 8.30 the waiter was calling us for a final order or else they wouldn’t have the time to serve us, which didn’t make any sense.
We felt pressured to leave, as service kept removing our plates/glasses from the table a split second after we downed the food/drinks.
It all made it a rather unpleasant experience altogether
Simply the best
We regularly dine here and have for many years. Abel and his team are top notch. It's testament to him that the staff have all been there years- even in the current climate where other restaurants are struggling, Cambio is not.
The food is excellent- favourites are the salmon nigiri, slow roasted tomatoes, the steak with potatoes and special sauce - to be honest you won't be disappointed with any of it.
Great atmosphere, literally never disappoints.
So much fun
Had a fabulous night here. We asked what they recommended and everything they brought us was outstanding. The tapas pace was perfect, giving us time to talk and enjoy our food. Also loved the “gin bar” — so fun.
Be the first to ReplyABSOLUTELY AVOID THIS PLACE!!!!!!!
I strongly recommend to anyone to avoid this place!!! The service is extremely slow and the staff is the worst, unprofessional, rude and very unhelpful! Typical “not my problem” attitude. Avoid this restaurant at all costs, especially if you are ordering online. I ordered my dinner a few hours ago and it was taking ages to arrive! (over one hour and a half and I live 10-15 minutes away from the restaurant). When I called the restaurant one of the guys on the phone told me that “the food has been ready and sitting outside the kitchen for over 15 minuted” and that it was an Uber Eats issue. After 10 minutes I found out that that either was not true or that the restaurant had thrown away the food, instead of giving it to someone who needs it.. what an unnecessary waste and disgusting behaviour, especially in times like this.. the driver was at the restaurant, called me and told me that there was no food and that the kitchen was not going to make a new order. The driver was actually very nice and helpful and made me speak directly to the same person I spoke 10 minutes before. This man again changed his version of the story and said that “some driver was there and had my food” which wasn’t true because I was tracking the order all along. He also tried to blame it on a different colleague while I was positive it was the same person. He told me to complain to Uber Eats instead and that it wasn’t their problem and then hung up the phone. I called again and he was even more rude and unprofessional and hung up the phone again. Worst people I ever dealt with in hospitality.
Be the first to ReplyHuge disappointment
This place has lot its touch - worst customer service in dealing with a claim- they asked me for evidence that my son was ill to obtain a refund for a £200 cancellation fee. After sending them a copy of the doctors invoice they questioned that they date did not match the reservation - as I could only get an appointment with the doctor the day after. Shame the way they treat loyal customers
Be the first to ReplyDelicious lunch
We have eaten here as a couple several times pre covid and now back in London by myself this time I returned today for lunch. It was absolutely delicious, sea bass and patatas bravas tapas for starters, and a rabbit main course. The staff without exception were so helpful and friendly and I had a nice chat with the owner who remembered me from previous visits.
I was therefore very surprised to see the negative comments on here re customer service. Certainly not my experience today, the exact opposite being the case.
Graeme Williams.
Excellent tapas, excellent service
I came here for lunch with friends. The staff were very welcoming, and friendly and attentive throughout. Before our mains, we asked for some manchego cheese with pre-lunch drink. The staff were more than happy to oblige; this was great service. The tapas was really tasty. We spent several hours eating and chatting. This was a wonderful experience. Although not the cheapest meal I’ve had in London, I would definitely recommend as a treat. I’d love to return soon
Be the first to ReplyRun out of the place with my dog, so rude never ever seen anything like this
In the past I’ve sat with my beautiful dog outside at this restaurant as they do not allow dogs inside. So I only went there bc the weather was good so I was happy to sit outside. But I was greeted with this Most Unpleasant reception possible. The manager Abel and his cohort Paco accosted me, complaining and yelling to go elsewhere “No Dogs Allowed.” Dog is G-d backwards and anyone who disallows dogs is striking at humanity. Shocking the way they spoke to me, like a longtime adversary, when I’d never before had an issue there. Meanwhile I saw another couple with their labradoodle seated comfortably outside, and the dog wasn’t even on the floor he was in their lap! What was this double standard? And why were they discriminating against me? We left to have dinner at Margaux down the way (much friendlier staff & better food) but were so shaken I ended up dropping my laptop which then sliced through my finger. None of that would’ve happened had Cambio, Abel, and Paco been nice & accommodating to me. Further, I should add that the first time I went to Cambio was with my friend from Spain and his friend the famous Rafael Nadal. Surely, the manager recalled that he had met me in this context, and that’s what made this all the more shocking. When I finished my dinner at Margaux I returned to address them, and Abel snapped without hearing me out for a second and he said “Look, we’re not serving you! I told you to go elsewhere, now please do not come back!” Terrible terrible expérience, and neither the atmosphere, the location, nor the food warrants such attitude!! They need to calm down, take a step back, and
Learn customer service, how to be kind towards people, the basics of accommodating people, etc. If they’d given me a moment for a word instead of verbally attacking me and publicly shaming me, they would have learned that my dog is in fact a service animal and it is Against The Law denying us service (especially outside, since she’s strictly permitted inside as well at all establishments, according to the law). With such an attitude and so little tact, Cambio is bound to lose customers like flies. Good riddance.
Lovely tapas restaurant
We visited this restaurant on Sat 11th Sept and we were very glad we did. Our server was excellent, unfortunately I did not take a note of her name, but we were 2 Irish girls, table outside at 2.00 and she recommended a beautiful bottle of Spanish white wine.
We had 4 sharing dishes, ham and soft cheese balls, tempura prawns, small green chilli peppers and finally, pieces of deep fried hake.
Every plate was so tasty.
We had to finish with a desert of Cheros (not sure of spelling) and hot melting chocolate.
If you like tapas, this is the place for you.
Phenomenal meal, stellar service
Not often I leave a review, but we enjoyed the most flawless evening here - perfect food, amazing service!
Came to celebrate a joint birthday, and the hospitality was brilliant from the start - staff were incredibly helpful and fun to be with, offering great suggestions and accommodating the group size (plus veggie) to match the tapas.
Stand outs include the 8hour slow roasted tomatoes in sherry wine, sea bass ceviche, Iberian ham and the wine!
Beautiful evening summed up perfectly by the fact that they even made a complimentary birthday cake! Will be coming back soon!
