Be the first to ReplyGreat food in a great neighborhood
When visiting family in New York City, we always try to have a meal at café MogadorThe food is simply terrific And it is located in a very fun neighborhood to explore.
Be the first to ReplyGood Moroccan restautant.
Sharing starters: Hummus, Labne, Eggplant Tahini - all very good and tasty. Mains: Falafel, Fish Tagine, Salmon and Chicken. Again, all very good. It was very busy on a Sunday night, and the restaurant felt like a large, fun family dinner.

We stopped in for a late afternoon lunch and were seated right away. They were quite busy for a late Saturday afternoon which we took as a good sign. My wife had the Kefta Grill and found it to be very tasty and enjoyed it a great deal. At $25 it is pricey but not so much for NYC. Service was good ad the kitchen was fast.

It was a hot spring day, one of those ones that makes you realize summer is on the horizon. I was fresh off the west side highway basketball courts, shooting about 27% from the field and 13% from 3 in 4 pick-up games. Shooters keep shooting though I will never surrender. I walked all the way to Cafe Mogador, as I felt I needed a healthy and nutritious meal after such a fantastic performance. I pulled the trigger on the Merguez Sausage, and it was honestly phenomenal. I find that most restaurants neglect dressing cabbage properly, but this cabbage was dressed to the nines. It was flavorful and not neglected. The sausage and rice were fantastic as well. However, I felt it was a pretty light portion for $24 which is the reason for knocking a star off. But I get it. Inflation and minimum wage on the rise are tough for these businesses so no hate. Just tough for me to consistently spend $24 on a light meal when my pockets are on featherweight. I just need to raise my income it's really a me problem. IG @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov__

Super good restaurant, I recommend the Tunisian pita with its merguez. The crème brûlée is very, very good.

We came here based on a recommendation from a friend who grew up eating eating Israeli food. He told us this restaurant reminds him of his mom's cooking and I don't think there is a better compliment to give a restaurant. Food: The food was excellent, there were so many veggie options and the portions were a good size. Everything was perfectly seasoned and many of the food items were unique, something I had never tried at other Mediterranean restaurants. Price: I would say the prices are pretty reasonable considering the amount of food given and the quality and taste. Ambiance: It's dimly lit and gives off this intimate cafe vibe without being casual. They have this beautiful bar that's a bit higher up than all the tables and chairs - almost like a stage, and it gives the restaurant a nice distinction. Service: Service was excellent. Everyone was very friendly and happy to answer questions. Any time we needed to order something, there was always someone there to help. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Cafe Mogador truly stands out as an authentic Moroccan gem in New York. The food is a delightful representation of Moroccan cuisine, and their friendly staff adds a warm and welcoming touch to the dining experience. It's not just a meal; it's a journey into the heart of Morocco right in the heart of New York. Highly recommended for those seeking a taste of Moroccan authenticity with exceptional service.
Be the first to ReplyMissed opportunity
It strives to prepare traditional dishes contaminated with oriental flavors and uses zero km vegetables and ducks, but does not move away from the stamp of an ethnic restaurant despite being loved and frequented by New Yorkers: this should generate greater impetus, while it should not justify the excessively high prices
Be the first to ReplyNice to be back, it was verDelicious food, great dishes, and a taste of homey tasty
Delicious food, great dishes, and a taste of home Delicious food like at home, excellent dishes, especially delicious hummus
Be the first to ReplyMiddle Eastern breakfast
I ordered the Middle Eastern breakfast and it was supposed to come with a salad however the bowl of salad was empty, maybe due to the reason of it originating from a country that doesn’t exist, otherwise food was adequate.
Be the first to ReplyOutstanding Breakfast
We had a visit specifically to this restaurant on our agenda (for breakfast) before departing for our NYC vacation. It did not disappoint.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious food and a rude waiter. The whole New York experience.
The food was delicuous and our waiter was really nice and welcoming but then the thing happened. I wanted to surprise my table and pay for the whole table so I excused myself and found another waiter and asked if I could pay now. He was annoyed from the start but then he told me the amount and I handed him the money, he then asked if I really wanted the money back, found it strange but thought nothing of it. Then I just happily went back to the table. About 10 minutes later my annoyed waiter came and said "I was NOT gonna say anything BUT your tip was to little". I was so surprised and I just said that I did not understand. He then stated again that I had not tipped enough. I said I had not realized, he never offered me any option for tipping when I was paying so I stupidly asumed that he had included the tip. We tried repeatly to explain that this was a misunderstanding and without hesitation added to the tip. He was still annoyed and gave me his best evil eye. But first of all we where clearly tourists, and where we come from you never tip. Second of all I do not believe it is mandatory to tip. Third he never once asked if I would like to add tips. We went home with a good story being told of by a New York waiter. So to sum up, delicuous food and a rude waiter. The whole NYC experience :) Just remember to tip, and for the love of god be generous!

Was an hour wait on a Saturday night so what the heck we went to a bar on St. Marks. They were great about keeping us apprised via text. We sat at an outdoor table and the food was unusual and delicious. Recommend the pastice. Pastiche? Pastis? anyway that thing - really good. Fun evening in a cool area.

Be the first to ReplyAmazing traditional hummus.
I've eaten here for at least 30 years and it never disappoints. Creamy and real hummus. Turkish coffee and espressos. Located near the action of St Mark's. Highly recommended.

Be the first to ReplyTrue neighborhood gem
I have been going to Cafe Mogador since they opened. Usually there a few times a month, It is a true neighborhood institution.
Great food and vibe, staff is amazing, food is consistently top notch. My favorite is the Lamb Shank Tagine but so many really good dishes to choose from. Great for brunch as well. The atmosphere is warm and inviting with a very hip crowd but unpretentious.
The only downside is the crowds, so you might have to wait for a table during the busier times.
I highly recommend and it is truly worth the wait.
Enjoy!!!
Great food
Good food and good selection of vines.
Even dessert are very good.
Not so expensive. Taste hummus. Very nice
Best casual Morrocan in NYC
One of the most consistent restaurants I ever visited. We visited Mogador many times for the last 15 years and it never disaponted. One of the best breafasts and brunches in NYC. Lamb tagine and merquez sausiges are the best.
Very attentive staff
First time eating at the gem in the lower east side
This establishment serves mostly Moroccan food.
We had a late breakfast at this cafe. I had there homemade yogurt with granola & fresh fruit. It was beautifully presented and was absolutely delicious!! There coffee was delicious.
Outstanding
The best medeterranian restaurant in New York. This Moroccan place has a good ambience and very polite and attentive staff. Food is outstanding. Order the lamb tahini and the hummus and falafel plate.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious but small portions
I usually visit this restaurant once a year. I ordered the keeps decreasing for this meal, and the price has increased! It cost $14, and it doesn’t include coffee. I wouldn’t come here more often because of that. The combination of 2 salads, hummus, eggs and pita bread are delicious. The bread is not enough for the meal, they should add 2 halves of pita bread.
