I was eager to try a Daniel Boulud restaurant given his numerous awards and high praise around the culinary world. I wasn't wowed, but this was pretty good as I expected a Florida version of a New York restaurant to be. The bread was not fresh or warm. I got the Japanese hamachi which was pretty good. The caviar was creamy, and the tuna paired well with the citrus and avocado. The beef tenderloin was a perfect medium rare with perfect seasoning despite the fact that it lacked a fantastic sear on the outside. The potatoes were nice and crisp and the sauce was very creamy. The dessert we ordered was not what I thought it was going to be since I wanted a soufflรฉ, but it was still delicious. I was mildly confused since I saw them bring out a soufflรฉ but I could swear it wasn't on the menu. Service was great for the most part. Prices are a bit steep, but I would likely come back. Overall 4.3 or so.

Beautiful restaurant and atmosphere but food is just mediocre. Two things I wouldn't get again: the Belgian waffle and risotto. The people I went to this restaurant with, joked after our meal that our Belgian waffle was like an air waffle. No taste, crunchy texture and not great. The risotto sadly had no flavor whatsoever! :( probably won't come back.

I made reservation for Valentine day lunch month in advance and was confirmed 2 days prior. The hostess was rude and was not able to accommodate us.

This was my 2nd trip to Cafe Boulud and my first trip for Brunch. It was our dating anniversary and we wanted to go somewhere special. We enjoy delicious peach Bellinis, oysters and I had a spinach and salmon eggs Florentine that they made gluten free for me. We sat outside on a beautiful day. They even had a singer set up outside on the patio playing keyboard. It was nice. Not too loud or obtrusive- just a nice peaceful Sunday vibe.
Be the first to ReplyWorth it just to sit outside on the patio.
This is a very high end restaurant. We went with a bigger group so had a fixed menu. The food was very good and the service was great. Make a reservation when the weather is nice and enjoy their outdoor dining at sunset/evening time. You won't be disappointed!
Be the first to ReplyWonderful lunch.
Both the service and food are outstanding, as expected from a Daniel restaurant. The drinks were amazing. Great gem in Palm Beach. Looking forward to next visit.
Be the first to ReplyCafรฉ Boulud is consistently good.
We have been there several times for lunch or dinner. Every once and a while, a dish disappoints. Last time the truffle was tasteless but the restaurant adjusted. Main reason for my review is a huge shout out for the pastry chef. Dessert often disappoints in high end restaurants. Not at Cafe Boulud. Desserts change often on the menu, are French pastry inspired and always delicious. Never too sweet. Bravo to the pastry chef!!

On our last evening in Palm Beach my partner and I wanted a fine anniversary dinner in a romantic setting. We chose Cafe Boulud based on internet and a travel magazine recommendations. The ambiance was great, the service was not and the food quality was a HUGE disappointment -particularly so given the stratospheric prices. We shared a beet salad and a shrimp cocktail as appetizers. The salad was small and uninspiring. Beet salads need a commingling of flavors to be good. This one was bland. The shrimp cocktail consisted of four large shrimp ( or possibly prawns) plus lime slices and red sauce. The presentation was nice but the shrimp lacked flavor almost like they had been frozen for an extended time period. We then waited for about a half-hour for our entrees to arrive. And by then we had gone through most of the expensive bottle of 1 Cru Chablis. I ordered the imported Dover Sole and my partner ordered the local Grouper. She took two bites and told me the Grouper was dried out. I also tasted it and clearly it was way overcooked - the cardinal sin for seafood. My Sole was also overcooked but still edible. I flagged down the waiter and we told him the Grouper was unacceptable. He said nothing and just disappeared. Nobody returned to further resolve the problem. I can understand that errors are made in the kitchen; I cannot understand how the management can be so indifferent to such errors. When the bill came we were charged for the Grouper. I would have demanded that the charge be removed but my partner implored me not to make a scene on our anniversary evening. I bit my tongue and paid the full bill. To add to my frustration my partner Insisted that I tip a full 20 percent in order to support the "little people," who were not responsible for the chef's incompetence. Cade Boulud is preying on customers who have money to burn but can't distinguish between mediocre food and really good food. Cafe Boulud is a high-priced ripoff. Even the Breakers food is a better deal, and that's a pretty low bar to clear.

Incredible service and cocktails but food was bland and uninspiring. Had the lobster salad and while there were huge chunks of lobster, the salad was ruined with an overly sweet flavor of some jam/jelly, just weird. The charcuterie board had 3 pates, again 2 of which were bland - the duck pate was great. Definitely not worth the price. My absolute favorite were the cocktails- so delicious and beautiful.

Let me just say it is a beautiful outdoor dining setting in the court yard of the Brazilian hotel. That certainly adds to the charm of the place. My daughter ordered the mushroom Bolognese. We got it without the ham Aus sous she is a vegetarian. Hands down that was the best plate on the table that night. The texture of the thick pasta combined with the earthy, smokiness? Of the red sauce was truly superb. I ordered the duck with extra collard greens. I did not mind diving into my vegetables this night. My wife got the coq au vin. It was a large amount of chicken, was the breast sous vide?

We were judged the moment we walked into the restaurant from the unnecessarily pretentious waitstaff. The rude looks were uncalled for and the air of unsubstantiated superiority was not nice. However, the drinks were goods 2/10
Be the first to ReplyThe courtyard dining is beautiful.
Food and service always excellent. It's very expensive with most entrees range from 40 to 69. but everything in Palm Beach has gotten very expensive last few years. Can't ask for a nicer setting to dine though and there is usually some good people watching.

Perfection! Food, wine, the service and the atmosphere are impeccable. Would dine here every day of the week.
Be the first to ReplySuperb food as would be expected from a Baloud restaurant.
Our server was lovely. However, the was one issue: We had to ask several times and had to wait for a very long time (like 15 minutes or more) to get one of our party's drink because whoever had the keys to the wine cellar could not be located. The interior is beautiful. All in all it was an enjoyable experience
Be the first to ReplyAwesome vibe, great staff and love the food.
I eat there every Sunday for brunch and sit outside in the beautiful courtyard.

Steak was over cooked, salad was under dressed and bread was a tiny stale baguette that looked cute but tasted like an Olive Garden crouton. Food wasn't bad but honestly, I'd rather cook for myself then pay to be here.::
Be the first to ReplyWhat a delightful dining experience inside this restaurant
What a delightful dining experience inside this restaurant hotel. We were able to sit out in the gorgeous perfectly light courtyard, food and service were impeccable. I also have to add that (during a very busy weekend for West Palm) I mistakenly made a reservation at the cafรฉ Boulud in Toronto and when we were arrived were very confused as to why they didn't have a reservation on file but the host and hostess immediately realized the error and got us seated right away despite how extremely busy they were. Amazing attentiveness, would return in a heartbeat and every one of our dishes was top-notch.
Be the first to ReplyI have dined here for many years.
The kitchen varies a bit, in style and menu, but it's always beyond excellent. Even though Chef Boulud seldom graces this namesake with his presence, the chefs, year-in, year-out, are top-drawer.The incredibly fresh oysters, East or West coast, are accompanied by a mignonette that is just off the chain good. The menu changes regularly. That's one of the things to love about this place. It has license to inspire both you, and the kitchen; to take you on culinary adventures, rather than becoming mired in the expectations of this or that dish that become hard staples. When dishes get cooked so many thousands of times that any semblance of creation, or inspiration has been wiped away by turning food into soulless reproductions of the line cooks, restaurants die. If you want food of the living dead, go to Rosemary Square, or Atlantic Avenue. Here, you'll get amazing fish, like the Mediterranean bass, and hard to find dishes like the rabbit terrine, along with staple beef and chicken dishes that have the chef's signature takes on them. Even their holiday dinners manage to put a bit of magic into the standards. Our kitchen was closed this year, for a big remodel. The turkey was yeoman like, but sides, like the acorn squash were spectacularly memorable. The bar staff puts out exceptionally good cocktails. They have some pretty rare bourbons, but you have to ask. They were carrying, at this writing, Benchmark, the bottom-of-the-barrel well brand at Buffalo Trace for laughable price. For those who don't speak bourbon, it's like sticking a Big Mac into a restaurant of this caliber's menu. One of many regrettable choices of the bar manager. The cafe is located in the restaurant and courtyard of the Brazilian Court Hotel, one of the "Big Three" on Palm Beach Island. In good weather, try to eat in the courtyard. Of them, Cafe Boulud is the least stuffy, or pretentious, of the bunch. If that's a turn-off to y'all in the Biff and Bunny blue-blood set, so be it. This place has developed a very reliable seasonal guest, along with loyal locals, over the years. I prefer a place where they worry about the food, not your DUNS number.Reservations, in season, are a must for dinner. As a hotel restaurant they do some impressive breakfasts, and fine lunches too. It's $$$$ food, and drink, but we'll worth it where you're here for s special occasion, business meeting, or post Worth Avenue redistribution of wealth spending spree. Parking is valet. Do tip them well. The Bentley bunch of bored broads from Palm Beach island stiffs them, more often than not. "I'm sorry, dear, but I left my purse at the trust fund for a refill. I'll catch you later. Promise!"

4 of us dined here last evening! Everything was delicious from start to finish! I highly recommend it for a great meal! The reason I'm writing this review is to compliment Curtis our waiter! If I could give him 10 starts I would! Probably the best waiter we have ever had in a restaurant! He went above and beyond and was extremely personable and pleasant! Give that man a raise!

Worst service! If you want to go to a RUDE PLACE just go to dinner on YOUR BIRTHDAY to this "amazing cafe" I went tonight to celebrate my birthday expecting something nice, to have a great moment with my friends and family; the waiter was so rude she didnt even know how to treat people and she is always yelling and she doesnt know how to say "excuse me" or something. We told the host it was my birthday and he was super nice guy! But i was expecting something on my cake and guess what?! Yes i got the dessert i ordered and the ice cream was completely melt ย im really sad about everything.Hope you guys can find better waiters, and give a better service for special occasions!
Be the first to ReplyHad a private event there for myMother's 65th birthday.
ย We kept it small due to Covid- ย and I actually missed the birthday because I was sick with covid. ย Theresa took care of my family and made the even really special. ย Would highly recommend

During Covid I went to Cafe Boulud several times for take out and the restaurant handled it very well and with the exception of one holiday take-out everything was consistently excellent.I've gone back for lunch and one time (awhile ago) even reserved a multi-plate private dinner with friends in the kitchen with the chefs preparing and explaining each dish in detail and that was a great and special experience.Cafe Boulud feels more informal for lunch and brunch and when I went back this week for dinner I realized just how staid the restaurant can feel and though I much prefer a more relaxed environment we accepted it and enjoyed it and though we weren't in our finest clothes we were treated very well.We did a fish dish and while it was good it wasn't as good as their dover sole. A shrimp cocktail was a generous portion of large shrimp. A pasta was also enjoyed.Desserts were as good as expected with a chocolate offering with fresh whipped cream being the stand out.Cafe Boulud is one of the best restaurants in South Florida and just as an aside at lunch time they have one of the better burgers in all of Palm Beach County.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food, drinks and atmosphere.
ย Hands down a must go to on Palm Beach island. ย The rotating menu keeps all the dishes fresh and locally sourced so you won't be able to get the "same dish" which keeps things new.
