Cabra Los Angeles Reviews from The Last Year
We went to Cabra for a birthday celebration! First time
We went to Cabra for a birthday celebration! First time trying Peruvian cuisine. It was surprisingly good! We both loved the ambience of the roof top restaurant. One thing that bothered me a little was the super loud laughter coming from the table next to ours, not pleasant for the ears. It was a bit of a windy and chilly night. They had heat lamps hanging atop, but they didn't seem to help much! Overall, it was a great experience!

This place was a 10/10 in my book! The ambiance is so nice, especially for the summer with the nice weather and a great sunset rooftop view. The decor is so cute and feels very retro. The food was delicious!! I loved how much of a fusion it was from asian inspired dishes to mexican, etc. Everything was interesting and unique plus their plating and dishware was to die for!!! The service was amazing, all the staff were super attentive and cleared plates out of the way efficiently. Definitely coming back here again!!

I've been here about 4 times over the past 2 years living in LA and it is a really good pick for DTLA. The flavor bombs I get every time I visit is undeniable- very delicious Peruvian cuisine that seems authentic. I didn't love our experience with the hostess upon on Saturday. There's something so off putting about a hostess saying, "I'll sit you here but I need the table back by 6:45p," despite having a reservation. I've worked in New York hospitality and there is a certain type of class in my opinion that should be carried...like just say we have a hard turnaround here rather than how she said it. I ended up making a new later reservation (because there were plenty available on Resy) to accommodate for a friend who was running late. When we checked in for that one she was like "I need the table at 7:45p so y'all get 2 hours instead for this one." Lmao lady. I'm not sure if this is normal but only experienced that here and a year prior at the Hideaway in Rodeo. Back to the good, It's tapas style so everything is shareable. I however ordered the bass ceviche and tuna & tots (BEST DISH). Tuna & Tots: flavor bomb, it's a cold dish with tuna and square tots that are warm and crunchy quinoa tops the tuna. It's soooo good, a balance between a cold and warm fish. Get this. Bass Ceviche: delicious served with taro and plantain chips and an almost creamy like sauce. Very very good. The salmon skewers come on the medium cooked side so if you like yours well done you should state that. Seasoning is on point.
Honestly this is the second and last time I'm coming here.
It has a very limited menu, small portions and really awful cocktails!

Amazing food and service!! Kyle, the bar manager and our server Atiana were very nice and caring. All of the dishes were the perfect size for sharing- portions were exactly enough to make you feel full. The drinks were tasty. Outside dining area was peaceful, music was great! Will definitely visit again!

Went to Cabra for dinner on a Friday night, good vibes, but it was cold out. Plus is, they had heaters and provided blankets. We had wanted the brisket along with chicken skewers but received the skirt steak instead. The kitchen was backed up and they got our order wrong. Despite that, our server was top tier, we were going to get comped the steak and still brought the brisket but we ended up cancelling it because we were so full and she was extremely understanding! I wish we were able to try the chicken skewers and brisket but maybe next time we're in town. I'd visit this place again.

Nice ambiance, food was good but overall everything is a bit on the pricy side for what you get. Valet parking attendants are not friendly and act like they are being bothered by just taking or getting your car. AND they say one price when you get there and then another when you get your car, saying it's sale tax! There's NO sales tax on valet parking per CA tax code. Probably will not go back just based on their attitude and dishonesty. Service and honesty is everything.
The food was impeccable.
It felt as if I were back in the motherland of Lima, Peru. The Peruvian cuisine was awe-inspiring for the flavors were delectable. Every plate had so much color and looked like a colorful piece of art, simply pulchritudinous. The ambiance was very extravagant, as we gazed and admired Down Town Los Angeles from the rooftop of The Hoxton. Service from the staff was superb and altruistic. Great evening at Cabra Los Angeles.
Such a cute rooftop place! Loved watching the sunset here.
The food and drinks were also really good: my whole group was in love with the toffee pudding. All of the other dishes were also home runs - super flavorful and easy to share. The service was the only thing that was not perfect, but honestly still respectable. It just took a while for them to take our order but nothing egregious. Overall we are definitely coming back!
Fantastic food & service.
Our server knew every ingredient in every dish & was clearly very knowledgeable about the menu. The space is beautiful - it's on a rooftop and covered but lots of windows that are left open so it's kind of both indoors and outdoors. We came for an early dinner around 6pm; would suggest that you bring both sunglasses and a light jacket for layering if dining early. Both the cocktails I had were pretty good; my husband's Paloma was slightly too sweet for both of us. The whipped ricotta, salmon ceviche, & cauliflower (not pictured) are a must. Both of us inhaled those dishes. We really enjoyed the flatbread that came with the whipped ricotta app & the pork shank entree. While the crispy pork shank & jalea mixta were also good, the other dishes we had were more standout for us. Great place for dining whether it be for date night or to catch up with friends. Will definitely be a repeat customer.

The food was very tasty and colorful! The service was great because they were checking on us if we were ok and very friendly. The ambiance was beautiful with some dtla buildings. I will come back again!
Sydney, in reservations, provided fabled service.
Her humanity puts the H in hospitality! Thanks again, wanted to publicly honor your grace.
Yummy food in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles.
The restaurant is very upscale and it has a really cool view! Check the weather it might be cold.
Absolutely loved it here.
Small plates so three was perfect for my friend and I. I loved the rooftop decor, the lighting, the noise level was great (not too loud). Everyone from the hostess to the servers were so polite.
Chef Stephanie Izard totally wins my heart at Cabra.
The semi-enclosed dining was definitely perfect for a gloomy, light windy evening. Every dish was on point from the Bass Ceviche to the Beef Empanadas, Salmon and Chicken Skewers. My favorites were the Salmon Skewers and the Woodfired Sprouted Cauliflower!!! Absolute killer dishes and I would get my own orders of those next time. Dessert was also tasty. We tried the Alfajores and Guava-Banana Sorbet. The friends and I had an awesome time celebrating my birthday there and would definitely come back.

Having a delicious dinner, an excellent view, an excellent atmosphere with very professional service was one of the best experiences I have ever had in this type of restaurant. I highly recommend it, especially because of the explosive flavors of the food, something that you are not normally used to but something that you will love and can become addicted to.

Honestly, Peruvian food is not something I want or crave BUT man this was amazing!!! We came here tonight as a last minute anniversary dinner and OMG! I am mean the ambience was an upscale vibe, I loved it. now as far as the food I wasn't too excited if I'm being completely transparent but woooooooh the flavors were to die for, so delicious! My husband ordered the salmon skewers , and im not a fan of salmon and I had a bite and wow the skin was so crispy and the salmon well it just MELTS in your mouth, it was amazing! We would definitely be delighted to come back here.

What did I just eat?!?! Pure Heaven!!!! Going off other Yelp reviews we found this fun rooftop restaurant to have dinner before our musical. The salmon skewers was TO DIE FOR!! The skin was so crispy and the salmon just melted in my mouth!! We read about the chicken empanadas on yelp and the crust was as good as they talk about... but what I didn't read about was the fabulous dip it was so tangy and yummy. They said it was a pecan chimichurri sauce and I could've dipped my whole hand in it!!! I'm sorry I forgot to take a picture until my last two bites. The sweet corn & choclo were the perfect veggie to round out our meal!!
Stephanie Izard’s Peruvian inspired spot
Sister restaurant of Girl and the Goat with a Peruvian focus. Came here for a NYE dinner with my parents and we had reservations for 6:30pm. It’s located at the Proper Hotel rooftop and we had a nice time enjoying our meal. We had the hot chorizo and queso dip, bass ceviche, and crab causa to start. The chorizo and queso dip came with fried plantains and yucca as well as a piece of pillowy soft pita bread. The ceviche was super fresh as was the crab - I particularly liked the perfectly ripe avocado that came on top. For the mains, we got the wood fired skirt steak and crispy pork shank, with the brussel sprouts on the side. Both of the meats were tender and flavorful. The pork shank came with two salsas and a pita bread as well (the latter of which had a delectable crunchy mix sprinkled on top). For dessert, we had the sticky toffee pudding which had think plantain chips covered in chocolate and a banana goat milk ice cream. If you like banana, it’s a good dessert for you, but it isn’t as sticky as a traditional pudding. Our waitress was super friendly and on top of it. Our waters were constantly refilled and overall, it was a very enjoyable meal.
Excellent Little Deli!
Dined here on our vacation. Overall ambience was fun. The waitress were very friendly. The seating was comfortable, they have regular dining tables as well as more lounge low seating around a coffee table. The food is Peruvian and a refreshing change from the normal Californian cuisine - and all the dishes were amazing.

Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.

Can come from a lot of places, people who don't want to get charged their cancellation fee or people who just have them and cant go.

almost all restaurants aren't affiliated with AT and I'm guessing it's mostly people wanting to not pay cancellation fees.
