We recently had an issue with our bill, and we really appreciated how the hostess handled things. She was very nice and immediately issued a refund for us. She also treated us to a drink at the bar. Great customer service!
Be the first to Replyrestaurant has a nice ambience .
I've had dinner and brunch here and I don't think I found a meal that I love yet. Watermelon steak was pretty good & so far options i've tried for brunch were just okay ( avocado toast, breakfast burger, chicken & waffles). Definitely will come back again but maybe just drinks and shareable bites
Be the first to ReplyThe pairings of wines and food are great combinations.
The design is very nice and eloquent. The service is great for a city restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyThe food was very good at this location.
The service was not quite up to par, though the staff was very friendly. Our server may have had a few too many tables assigned, but we asked for several items which never made it to the table, and it took an unusual amount of time to receive our check. These are not non-starters for me, and I'd definitely go back, just notes on ways to improve and earn that coveted fifth star. This is a nice gem in the Bronzeville neighborhood, and I like that there is free street parking available. It's definitely worth checking out if you're in the area.

I visited Bronzeville Winery for brunch with my boyfriend and what stood out to us the most was how friendly the staff were during every point of our dining experience. The vibes of the restaurant were also nice. I got the chicken and waffles which were the best chicken and waffles I have had so far. They came with some maple syrup and hot sauce that paired very well with the dish. My boyfriend got the shrimp and grits and it was the first time that we had tried it in general and they were amazing, definitely raised the bar for the future shrimp and grits dishes we may try. We also had a side of their beef bacon which was very delicious. We also got the flight of mimosas (I wish I remembered the different flavors) which was very delicious. The only thing that I did not like was that our server pushed the flight of mimosas onto us. I wanted to check the price before proceeding but got dismissed (and it also was not on the menu), did not let us say how many we wanted and proceeded to bring two flights when we could have shared one, especially since they were strong and we had to get on the road after. Both flights ended up being as expensive as our food. I wish I got to ask my questions before hand to prevent this from happening because only one was necessary but besides that I definitely recommend. I am hoping to visit Bronzeville Winery next time for dinner.

Went for my bday and enjoyed the whole (entertainment, music & food) experience. I had the vegan burger and OMG Superb! My family enjoyed their steak, salmon and beef burger. I highly recommend Bronzeville Winery.

The establishment was clean and the music was nice.
Be the first to ReplyI had an amazing birthday celebration at Bronzeville Winery.
I worked with a staff member ahead of time to create a prix fixe menu, the print out of which was cute! The vibes were immaculate, the food was scrupmtious, and the service was good. There was another event going on at the same time which may explain why the DJ's music was very loud, but it didn't detract from my joyous occasion. I look forward to returning again soon.

It's a cute place, went for my birthday, service was nice, it's a smaller place so definitely make a reservation. I would go back for lunch or an early dinner, I didn't have anything that blew me away, but it was tasty. I had the burger with spicy fries and a wine flight/tree. The server was very personable and funny, he's a fellow Aquarius I can't say how much I spent since my friends paid but PLEASE BE ADVISED: your whole party has to be there before being seated. It'd be cute for a 1st or 2nd date, place to go with a few friends, they also have large party seating, we saw one of about 10/12 people wrapping up once we were seated.

Always a great time at Bronzeville Winery! The service is quick and friendly, the food is tasty and elegant, and the vibes are immaculate. I always look forward to coming back! This round, we ordered the Brussels sprouts and hummus to share and I ordered the burger. I highly recommend apps if you're look for something elevated and on the healthier side. Everything was fantastic!
Be the first to ReplyOur experience started off fantastic .
Our bar server was polite and we got our food and drinks in a timely fashion . I enjoyed my meal but the night ended with our party being insulted by one of your staff members . We observed one of your staff members (woman , fair skinned , large dreads) come behind the bar , my brother pointed out to her hey one of your dreads is sticking out of your bun . He was with his sisters he knows how women can be about hair being out of place so he simply told her, her hair was out of her bun . This woman who works for you responded with the most disrespectful offensive comments and I quote her words " Well is my hair in your food ? Does it bother you ? Because even with it sticking out my hair still looks better than everyone in this place . But I appreciate you letting me know ." Rolls eyes and walks away. It was the most ignorant thing I've ever seen especially after such a light hearted moment . We mentioned it to our server who said she's not normally like that but that doesn't help the situation. It was our first time dining there and we were so excited to check it out ! Unfortunately we will not be recommending this place or coming back because of the hostile environment created by one of your staff members.
Be the first to ReplyWent here for drinks with a friend.
They had a live band performing this night so that was cool! Drink selection was nice, I went with the Lolli lemon drop (I think that was the name) and it was really good. Also tried out an orange wine for the first time. The service was a bit slow to start, took about 20 minutes to get water, but once we we're acknowledged by our super sweet and apologetic waitress, the rest of the evening went smooth. I only tried the Brussels sprouts to eat because because I saw the word crispy along with a blood orange glaze that I was excited for, but unfortunately I wasn't a fan . So Maybe I'll try other menu items next time, but I'll definitely be back for that lemon drop!

I previously rated Bronzeville Winery a 3 but I've been back a few more times since my first review. I am moving up in my review. What I do love about this place is it's got a positive vibe and it's black owned. The staff for me are the highlight. Everyone is friendly. Black staff dressed in black and loving on black is something the black community needs. The flow of energy is great. The music is really good. A nice space for people on the Southside. I am warming up to the food. I've tried different items and each gets better. I still think there is room for improvement on the food line but it's good. I am a food snob but I may get to a 5 next time.

The wonderful ambiance hits you from the moment you step through the door and are greeted by the hostess. I enjoyed the Uncle Yam's old fashioned from the bar as I waited for the rest of my party to join me. We enjoyed Spanish Cod fritters, Adobe Chili fries, coconut red snapper, salmon, lobster Mac and cheese, roasted chicken and shrimp. All the food was OUTSTANDING and our server B was very knowledgeable. I recommend Bronzeville Winery 20/10!
Be the first to ReplyEverything from the food to the ambiance was a 10/10.
I dined with 2 others and we each enjoyed an appetizer, entree, and dessert. The service made us feel welcomed and we will be back!

Came to Chicago for a weekend getaway and heard this new gem was minority owned. Walked in and was immediately greeted by a friendly host, who quickly sat my party of 4. The service was quick and tentative and the food was delicious. The ambiance screamed culturally chic and the host let his know a lot of the chairs etc were made locally. If you want to dine with love, culture and purpose, come here
Be the first to ReplyA bit pricey, but worth the service, ambiance and attention.
The lobster Mac is off the charts!
Be the first to ReplyCame here because it was recommended by a friend as a new
Came here because it was recommended by a friend as a new Black Owned business to try. Arrived on a Saturday evening around 10pm. There was plenty of parking outside despite them being busy. Our bartender, Chris really looked out. I told him what flavors I like and he made something on the spot. There was a couple celebrating their wedding anniversary so the vibe was really sweet and even though we weren't apart of the group, everyone was super friendly. There was a great dj playing old school and house music. We didn't try the food but after viewing the menu, I look forward to coming back for that.

I had a wonderful experience and excited to go back! We started with wine and I had the red blend and it was delicious and smoky! We then ordered the shrimp which was amazing! The salmon & chicken thighs were both great! The star was the Mac & cheese and it was thee back I've ever had!!!

The food was delicious, the atmosphere was exciting, and the service was excellent with our waitress, Bee! I will be returning. My friend and I celebrated my birthday here and they made it special.
Be the first to ReplyI have been receiving a lot of mixed emotions about this
I have been receiving a lot of mixed emotions about this place. I finally was able to come out on Friday to celebrate ladies' night. One of the ladies made reservations for us to come here. The theme for this month was to support a local black owned business for Black History Month. The reservations were set for 7pm. We all arrived on time and was ready to be seated. But we had to wait a little longer for our table to be available. Very small area space. This place is very elegant and set the good vibe moment. There is a live DJ playing some grown and sexy old school music. Place is dim but romantically lit up. The ambience is for the grown folks. Our server Janiece was awesome and super attentive. Some of us ordered the BW burger which came with Adobe fries. I ordered my burger well done but when it arrived at the table. It wasn't even cooked fully. I was very disappointed to get a rare, cooked burger. Janiece took it straight back to the kitchen for a freshly well-cooked burger. One of the ladies ordered the Salmon and a kale, Caesar salad. Everyone enjoyed their meal with no extra complaints. Good food, good conversations, great music and good vibes. The menu prices are a little high (for small portion food size) but I guess you pay for the quality and atmosphere. FYI ... The reservation is only for 90 minutes so use the time wisely. It's still fairly a new business so hopefully the kinks and a wider food menu will be in the works soon.
Be the first to ReplyMy partner & I have been wanting to try this place since it
My partner & I have been wanting to try this place since it opened. We thought Valentine's Day was the perfect opportunity. Frankly, it was not what we expected.I assume the bad service was because of the amount of people were there (I assume they over booked the reservations) but it was exaggerated. We had reservations for 7:30 & saw that there were a good amount of people waiting for their table. When we got there there were people in front of us waiting for the very nice hostess to take them to their table. After literally more than 10 minutes of standing, the hostess finally let the couple know they'd have to wait at the bar for their table. We were next & no one checked in with us for about 15 min, until that same hostess saw as at the bar & asked us for our names. In total, it took us 45 min to get seated, after the fact that we had reservations. Our appetizer took so long to get to us, but we thought the worst was over. We were wrong. Our waitress asked us if we were ready for desert & didn't realize we hadn't had our main entree yet. She apologizes & takes our order for the main entre. It took a total of more than 40 min for that to come out. During this, we were talking to other couples on both sides of our table and they expressed the exact same frustration. After looking around the restaurant, it was very clear everyone was upset. I mean literally everyone. At that point, the couple next to us and us were ready to leave. However, everything was already pre paid. The entire dinner was paid for when the reservations were made. So it's not like we wanted to lose out on our money. Our desert literally took 50 min to come out. The couple next to us were seated wayyyy before us and they STILL hadn't gotten their desert. My partners desert was burnt. We didn't even finish it. We took one bite, got up & left.Over all, the food was okay and the service was horrible. I wanted so bad to like this place, but Valentine's Day was a disaster. I wish there was some form of accountability taken on their part because when I say everyone in that restaurant was upset, it was everyone. It was pretty sad to see the couples next to us were not having a good time and that really bummed me out.
Be the first to ReplyI want to love this restaurant but there's always a glitch
I want to love this restaurant but there's always a glitch that take place. I have eaten dinner twice at this establishment. My first experience service was great, nice ambiance little loud but I was able to carry on a conversation with my friend. I ordered, cod fritter absolutely delicious, and Mac and cheese w/lobster which looked Devine until I dived into it, Ugh! Very salty as if someone had drop the salt container into my Mac&cheese I didn't eat it the waitress took of off my bill (I didn't complaint about the Mac&Cheese). Over all that evening was not a bad experience. My second trip to Bronzeville Winery. I made reservations had to wait about 10min for a table, no problem. This night they had a live band, the band was phenomenal. Service was absolutely terrible, my waitress just was not focus on her job or just didn't give a damn. She introduced herself, ask did I want tap water or seltzer water? I didn't see her again until the manager came with water that was 15mins later. I ordered Cesar salad with grilled shrimp and fries, I am assuming they ran out of Romain lettuce, because my Cesar salad was made with spinach and arugula. The menu; Cesar salad Romain Lettuce, I was never informed they was out of Romain lettuce I ate the salad. I watch other waiter and waitress hustling and busting their tables, as I looked around for my waitress. I finally grab the waitress and ask for the bill, I usually don't really look over the bill, this one I did, I was charged $38.00 for one glass (4oz) of wine. I flag her down again, between her dancing, and singing from a far with the band. I asked, one glass of wine is $38.00? She said oh, you have the wrong bill, not true everything else on the bill was what I ordered but that $38.00 glass of wine, she amended the bill. I will not be back anytime soon.
