Great restaurant on Maximilianstrasse
The reception and service were good. The food was very good. The food was prepared at two large cooking and grill areas. All in all, a very good restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent food - lots of choices for non meat eaters!
Terrific meal! Superb food quality. Veggies were fantastic. Salmon was cooked perfectly. Rave reviews for the eggplant dish. We were seated immediately and the service was great. Loved it. Will definitely recommend and return.
Be the first to ReplyGreat grilled food, buzz and ambience.
Another expensive, but worth it, Munich option if you feel like spoiling yourself. Very good grilled squid as a starter and grilled sole as a main course. Great ambience and buzz add to the overall enjoyment.
Be the first to ReplyNo pleasure - cramped, noisy and bad air
Unfortunately, the three of us were seated at a mini table for two. We wanted to start the Easter celebrations comfortably - that wasn't possible at first except for the delicious bread. And we had a reservation. After the water came with 3 glasses - there was no room for it a wine glass. There was probably no better place for normal people! The food came straight away - only had main courses - there was no more room for the side dishes - so they slammed it on the plate - everything was only lukewarm and the spinach was cold - no enjoyment and bad ones Air - also too loud! No, no enjoyment - unfortunately!

Beautiful, large hall, 2 huge open fireplaces and a great concept. Five of us were squeezed into a rather small table for four. This despite reservations. The table next door didn't fare any better, with three people sitting at a small table for two. The friendly waiter recommended various appetizers to share… good idea, but where to put all those plates? That was our problem. Plate after plate, no chance of getting everything on the table. Quickly, empty the white wine glasses, the red comes, but where to put more glasses? Regardless, still our problem. The meat comes, more plates, even less space. Be careful, the plate is hot, but it wasn't, the plate and the meat are cold. The waiter's friendliness rapidly diminished. Meat back, yay some space, meat comes, now hot, first plate empty, take a deep breath. Comfort is different. Dear Brenner team, at some point people simply stop going to a restaurant. Seeing and being seen is important here and anyone who makes that their top priority is in the right place. For me a relaxing evening looks different...I won't be back.
Be the first to ReplyRestaurant with atmosphere and good food
A restaurant with atmosphere and flair. There's always something going on here and the food is excellent. The staff is friendly and attentive even though it was busy. Luckily we had a nice table at the edge.
Be the first to ReplyGood quality for large number of people
Service is friendly, food is of very good quality. The atmosphere is too hectic for me, the pictures on the homepage suggest a more dignified and exclusive environment. The restaurant is basically a huge hall divided into several sections. A quiet dinner for two is not really the place to be, but good food in a lively atmosphere - wonderful.

Insufficient. That is how you have to describe the performance of the Brenner Grill. A 500g T-bone for two costs EUR 85,-- and the vegetables another EUR 16.--, so EUR 100.-- for two people. A piece of meat is brought to the table that certainly does not weigh 500g, more like 300g. When asked about this, the waiter starts to explain at length how the water (sic)! evaporates from the meat when grilled. What?? He kept saying, "Please understand, I'm just the waiter here." He was neither surprised nor did you get the impression that this was a one-off incident. It was more like he understood the complaint. That didn't change anything, the restaurant manager was not available. He will probably know why. The whole thing might be a case for the trade supervisory authority. But at the very least, this is a restaurant where you are not welcome, but would rather be welcomed. At a price of 225 euros, it's an indecently expensive pleasure of vain navel-gazing.
Be the first to ReplyPleasant evening with delicious food
Upon entering we were welcomed by a nice hostess. Luckily we had booked a table because it was completely full. Busy and noisy, but that didn't bother us. We had a very nice waiter who gave us a nice evening. The homemade lemonade tasted good. And the wine we chose was also very tasty. There is nothing to complain about the food either. Well prepared and hot. Portions also fine. The bill was hefty, but you know that in advance.
Be the first to ReplyUnfortunately not recommended
The noise level for an evening meal was unbearable. Conversation was almost impossible. The food was very average in terms of both taste and presentation. Very cramped and tables were crammed into every corner. The service tried very hard, but the quality of the food could not compensate for the loud and cramped atmosphere and the poor quality and care of the food. Unfortunately, I would not go there again and would not recommend it to anyone.

Once again, being at the Brenner has been a delightful experience that always invites you to come back. We went together with some friends on Friday evening to start the weekend the best way possible. During the evening, there is a more intimate atmosphere to have a comfortable dinner. From the beginning, all the staff was very attentive and constantly asking if we needed something. We were especially thankful to the sommelier who guided us by letting us taste a few wines that would match with our dinner choice. His advice did not deceive! To start with, we tried the tuna tartar together with the shrimp carpaccio to share. It is a very delicate mixture of flavors for the fish and seafood lovers. Also with the recommendation from the waiter, we took the T-Bone steak as a main dish: what a blast! Perfectly cooked and very tasty, and we were happy that it comes from a regional producer. We finished the evening with a classic perfectly made tiramisu. Next time we will definitely stay longer at the bar where it seems that nice cocktails are being served accompanied by some live DJ music!
Be the first to ReplyNoisy and expensive
Visited this restaurant with a business friend on a Friday evening. It was packed. Based on the upscale pricing I had expected a more comfortable setting, tables are very close to each other and there are constantly people running around you. The noise level is very high, my watch warned me a number of times going over 80 dB which is more than a crowded bar. The acoustic is rather lousy. Our starter was nothing more then what you get everywhere but very pricy, the entree, beef filet, was good quality but also expensive. All together and also based on the cramped tables too expensive for what you get.

Has long white object in salmon Manager told was fat Never had before in my life Refused to pay Was kicked out Rude service and management
Be the first to ReplyNot anymore
Visited after a couple of years. The buzz and the shine was not there anymore. Food is average service ok and worse of all we had to deal with the huge trays of unwashed cutlery being transported across the place all night long. Not worth it
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing.
Trendy restaurant in one of the most eclectic areas in Munich. But the food is overrated and average. Also, we had a standing reservation. For a special event with a 90 year old lady and though we called to alert that we were running 15 mns late due to snowstorm, we lost our reservation and had to settle for sharp 75 mns reservation on an alternative short time booking. There was no consideration whatsoever for the old lady’s slow pace and the fact that she had made a huge effort to be here tonight. The waiter even reminded us of the end of our “allocated time” 5 mns before. We were barely finishing our meal.
Be the first to ReplyVery good food, nice location
We went for dinner here, place was full on the terrace, so you should make a reservation. Service very attentive, food also very good.
Be the first to ReplyPersonally Recommended By A Local As The Best In Munich After A Long Deliberation
My wife and I went to the Hofbrauhaus for our first dinner in Munich. You almost have to, right? So, while there we met a local German businessman. We asked him what he thought was the best restaurant in Munich that was fairly nearby. After two hours of thinking on this topic, he responded with, "You must go to Brenner." So, we did. We were only able to get an early reservation, which tells me it is very popular. We both started out with an appetizer. My wife really wanted to try the tuna tartar, which she was hoping was exquisite. This did not disappoint as it was sashimi quality with sliced fennels in a avocado wasabi cream sauce. I ordered the cream of tomato gazpacho with wild caught baby shrimps. For dinner, I ordered a perfectly cooked grilled octopus with stewed tomatoes. I also ordered a side of spinach was bland at best. While somewhat disappointing, a little dash of salt and pepper fixed that. My wife selected the saffron risotto with shrimp, scallops, and a langostino. Her dish was absolute perfection. We ordered two half bottles of wine so we could try two different ones. Our young waiter was tremendous, always checking up on us to ensure we were satisfied. I wish I could remember his name. While this is a somewhat pricey place, I will say it was worth every Euro. Our German did not steer us wrong!
Be the first to ReplyWonderful and classy dining experience in Munich
A local friend had recommended Brenner Grill to me, his visiting American friend. I dropped by, on my own, after a day of walking throughout Munich, and what a welcome respite and rest I found at Brenner Grill. I was warmly and professionally welcomed and though without a reservation, was seated at a nice table with a wonderful view of the very scenic room, full of windows and columns, that showcased the white linen tablecloths and the sparkling crystal glasses. My server was friendly, very professional, and also accommodated by halting German :) I will must say it was one of those great experiences where everything came when it should have, no delays, nothing too soon, Great wine choice, that complimented the carpaccio and then the octopus salad (so fresh!(. Such a great time I forgot for a while I was dining alone and not sharing this great experience.

So disappointed.
My family and I went here as a birthday dinner and the food was awful. The steak that i ordered was served ice cold in the middle, when u ordered medium rare. There was no seasoning on the steak at all, and the beef was not flavorful. On top of that, the service was way below average. It took the waiter 15 minutes to bring out water. Never go here. The experience and food as a whole was terrible
Great food and service
Went for a lunch for two to the Brenner Grill. Had great food and outstanding service. Will definitely come back.
Be the first to ReplyHigh price and bad food
We were there for dinner and were very disappointed. 50% if our meal was not even good and well cooked. We needed to claim our dishes and got something back what in general was not the qualizwhivh I do expect for approx. 85 Eur per dish.
We as family where there for yards and then due to bad experience we did not go there any more but we wanted to give the location a 2nd chance - result: best decision not to go there any more and spend the money at places with better food and service.
Disappointing!!!
Offensive
A Brenner worker/manager kicked us out at entry shouting racial slurs/ offensive words because of our nationality. :(

Great grill and fun ambience. Must try their grilled octopus, grilled to perfection with right amount of char. Pair the grilled Argentinian beef with a cauliflower steak. Lime tart was sublime. Service by Sie Dogan was attentive, efficient and all around outstanding, including his food recommendation. We thought his passionate service was inspiring and deserves special mention.
