Not for Business Meetings.
Had a business breakfast / meeting here. The meeting room was right next to the kitchen, and all we could hear was pots and pans banging. Also, the door handle was broken, so the door could not close. The breakfast spread however, looked and tasted great. Would suggest a meeting room away from the kitchen.

Aspects are different when you go out to eat now. We have all had to amend our approach to eating out. In the past, I had dined at the London Hotel several times and enjoyed it. Since only outdoor dining is permitted now pickings are slim as far as places to go.
We decided to try the Boxwood at the London Hotel for our date night.
It was on the patio beside the gym, at first we weren’t too impressed, however, the food improved everything.
This is one of the most delicious food experiences I have ever tasted! The servers were first class and the presentation of the food 5 star.
We had such a marvelous time we forgot that it was a makeshift outdoor restaurant area during these formidable times.
Worth going for the amazing service and food.
I've also stayed at the Lindon hotel and the rooms are beautiful, great pool area and beautiful lobby. The staff are very professional and the hotel is in a prime Los Angeles location on.the Sunset strip.
Not a far trip to the beach, Beverly Hills or Runyon.canyon.
The MOST delicious take-out dinner ever...
Last night I had one of the most delicious, elegant, and beautifully-presented meals in recent memory, made all the more remarkable because it was TAKE-OUT from the Boxwood! I had been searching for a special Christmas meal and especially wanted Beef Wellington - my son's favorite. It's not a simple thing to make and certainly difficult to locate at the best of times, much less during this nightmare pandemic.
The Boxwood (in the fashionable London Hotel) was one of the only restaurants I could find that offered the dish, and I placed my order though was concerned I'd be disappointed, that it wouldn't travel well during the 20-minute drive home, that it might be over-or-under-cooked, whatever, I was being neurotic about wanting it perfect.
And it WAS - absolutely perfect. I wish I'd taken photos but we were too excited and attacked it the minute I unpacked it from the lovely bag, along with the exceptional potatoes, prosciutto-wrapped green beans, perfect little dinner rolls - with everything gorgeously packed among sprigs of decorative rosemary. Even the paper napkins and utensils were thoughtful, as close to approximating linen and silver as is possible.
This was a truly memorable and impressive effort from everyone in their kitchen to the gentleman who brought my food to the car. I can't wait to order from them again and certainly won't wait for another holiday. If you're seeking something special and beyond tasty, look no further.
Very quiet and nice place to spend sunny day on the roof, with small swimming pool available.
Very quiet and nice place to spend sunny day on the roof, with small swimming pool available. Some drink and food options. Good quality, small portions as it is in LA. Very clean, nice ambiance, not too many people .

Food was great and unexpected to find paella!
Definitely not the typical bland English food.
servivice was wonderful
Very disappointing
Went there to have the experience of a Chef Ramsey Restaurant, and found that if hadn't been one for 4 years. Googled Ramsey restaurants and this came up. Our wine and martini was served in plastic glasses because the of close proximity to the pool. Really need a chilled glass for a martini. Waitress said the fish and chips were still a Gordon Ramsey recipe and if this is true I have had better EVERYWHERE. No flavor. Very bland. Fries were good. Mushy peas did not taste like the ones I have had. Presentation nice. Grandaughter had a rice dish with short ribs and veggies. Tasteless. Expensive and not worth it. We were so looking forward to it. Guess we will have to go to Vegas. Oh well.

Our waiter was great. He was witty and very attentive. We had dinner after our swim at the hotel pool with two young children. It was cold being on the roof with the wind and the sun setting, but the outdoor heaters provided enough warmth. The cauliflower steak dish was totally amazing. The English with Union Jack cushions themed area was modern and edgy. The views of Hollywood hills as a backdrop at night made dinner more special. Recommend a jumper even though there are outdoor heaters because it can get very windy.

My husband and I are staying at the London for a wedding. Decided to head up to the roof for a cocktail with a view, ended up staying for appetizers, dinner, and dessert! Michel was our server and he was so friendly and took great care of us! I ordered everything he recommended and he did not steer me wrong! Would definitely come back.
Be the first to ReplyGreat views, average food!
Gorgeous hotel with elegant décor. The Rooftop is vast with lots of seating options and a super vista of West Hollywood. Not very busy on our Sunday lunch visit (2.30 pm) which was a little surprising. The service is efficient and friendly. The food is beautifully presented but slightly ordinary in taste. Not the most expensive place but by no means cheap. Come for the view and the setting but perhaps not the food.

To be clear, this is average for a nicer restaurant, but in the grand scheme, it's probably more fair to say "very good." Read on to see why I went with Average vs. very good. As guests in the hotel, we had an early and light dinner and "champagne" in celebration of my birthday. The outdoor setting is fantastic, with great views do the city. The quality of some of the decor could be improved, but not enough to detract from the overall experience. The oysters and multiple side dishes were excellent and the sparkling wine perfect. Service was friendly, but not particularly attentive - especially given that few were one of two seated parties. They were perfectly friendly and there were no major problems, but just seemed distracted. This is not a crime, but considering how few guests there were and the cost of food (not exorbitant, but high end) my expectations were higher than they might be elsewhere. I think they missed the mark in one key service area most of all though - when I went to powder my nose, my friend asked the waitress for a dessert with a candle, explaining that it was for my birthday. When I arrived back at table there was a lovely (and scrumptious) piece of chocolate cake that we shared. When I got our sizable bill, (I was treating my BFF and I for my b-day weekend), there was the cake on the bill as well. It seems that for the significance of the bill and knowing we were guests of the hotel, throwing in the cake would have been a minimal cost to them and yet a nice gesture of generosity and thanks towards us. If we're grading on whole numbers only, the food was an A, Setting an A, decor a B and service a C. FYI, our service in the rest of the hotel was impeccable, so this stood out.
