Had a great lunch.
Sat at the bar. TJ our bartender was outstanding. Truly an enjoyable meal. Soup, steaks, vegetable sides. Friendly conversation. It was everything I needed. I'm hooked
Be the first to ReplyService is personable, food is fine, adequate and filling.
Not exactly a white table cloth restaurant, but I appreciate the effort regardless, of creating a nice table setting.
Be the first to ReplyI ordered the fried chicken sandwich.
it was inedible as the cut of chicken was not right for sandwiches and the breading was mush. the fries were over cooked to the point of no potato, just a fried shell. it made me sad. I would have ordered something else but our server never came over to ask how everything was. go somewhere else!

My boyfriend and I had a reservation on 8/21/23 on the patio that was not honored. The hostess offered us a table inside and the experience between the poor customer service and noise made for a disappointing experience. The food is not the same standard it once was either. Very disappointed.

Very disappointed! Reserved a table outside 2 days in advance. The snobby, college aged, blonde hostess tells us we don't have a reservation for outside and can only accommodate us in a very small table inside, behind the hostess stand. The noise was ridiculous!! The food was mediocre and the service was disappointing as well. Been coming here for years so this was an unpleasant surprise. * Andrea (owner) leaves a comment about trying them again, but doesn't leave a phone number where she can be reached. I did attempt to call but was told she's "not available". I'm not sure if the business has changed hands but it's being run very unprofessionally.
Be the first to ReplyAnother great meal .
.. lunch ... in the Hamptons. Seated promptly (reservation was helpful). Crowded inside, but comfortable. Server was excellent; all staff were friendly and efficient. The food? Delicious. Clams on the half-shell a nice start. But, the linguine with mussels and clams ... wow! Fantastic dish. Loaded with fresh tasying mussels, whole clams, and chopped clams, and the pasta was tasty too. My wife and our friends enjoyed their fishes too. Really good lunch!

I've been to Bobby Vans in the past and was not wowed by my dining experience. This recent Friday evening dinner was much more satisfying. We started with the clams casino which was good. Not great. The shaved Brussel sprouts salad was soo tasty. I was very happy with this dish. We also ordered the fried calamari. Nothing spectacular but I did enjoy the crispyness of the calamari. The Porterhouse for 2 was cooked perfectly. Seared on the outside and slightly pink on inside & added a side order of whipped potatoes. Our waiter was very attentive and the food came out quickly although the restaurant was busy. I'd definitely visit again.
Be the first to ReplySo darn noisy couldn't hear or be heard.
Service was fine but waiter a tad brusque. Steak was tender and perfectly cooked and spiced. Creamed spinach was velvety smooth and tasted delicious. So perfectly seasoned! The fried onions were perfectly crisped and a tad bland but fixed with some pepper and salt and sauce. The hash brown potatoes were ok and could have been helped by some additional seasoning and peppers and onions--under vegetabled [sic]. Ketchup helped. The ambiance was noisy echoic and lighting was dim. Seats uncushioned.

Excellent lunch and service a great atmosphere great Place to watch people come and go and get out of the rain
Be the first to ReplyGood food with mediocre service.
We had our drink orders screwed up multiple times. They brought our main course without bringing forks after taking away our forks with the appetizers. I asked for a beer and they brought me an iced tea. After repeating my beer order, he said he remembered me ordering a beer. Then I repeated my beer order and the waiter said they didn't have that beer. How is it you can remember a customer ordering a beer and then not bring a beer... I am so perplexed. The Chili Calamari was fantastic. 5/5 The Sirloin steak was pretty good.

Came here on a Sunday for a day date with my husband and 2 year old son AMAZING service and food. We had the best time they were so accommodating to my son and made us feel so welcome from as soon as we walked in to us leaving. We can't wait to come back Thank you Bobby Vans!
Be the first to ReplySadly, after 26 years we are leaving Bridgehampton.
Confession, almost never ate here, wife with the JULIETS did every other week while I with the ROMEOs ate at the Corner Bar in Sag Harbor. Every Thursday for most of that time I ate at Candy Kitchen next door with the CAUCUS. Had maybe my last lunch with that group at Bobby Van. Had the best Reuben sandwich (equal to Tweeds in Riverhead) and the other two items ordered by friends were equally good. Prices were comparable to Candy Kitchen.

DO NOT GO HERE , I ordered the filet mignon with spinach and it didn't taste to bad till an hour after and I look like a zombie my face was PALE ASF and then I puked my entire meal out realizing that I got food poising. Unsanitary conditions and undercooked is what you can't expect when you go here and rude costumer service on top of it ,would NEVER go back

Be the first to ReplyCame for a dinner reservations and to start with cocktail
Came for a dinner reservations and to start with cocktail at the bar before dinner. I had a Kettle One martini, my wife a Cosmopolitan. Bill $45. $20 martini is the most I've ever paid on Long Island. The martini glass was very small. The bartender had no personality. For dinner my wife had the $42 Lobster roll which had tomato and a full shrimp in it. If you are offering lobster why using tomato and shrimp as a filler? At least cut the shrimp up and try to disguise it as lobster. I did have lobster, two 6 oz South African tails for a mere $62 ! Nothing with it other than than a spoonful of some kind of garnishment. Not a potato, no a vegetable. Pretty Lame. Would normally have a raw oyster appetizer a dozen. @ $22 for 6 you have to kidding me. The highest price per oyster I've ever seen in my 71 years on this planet. At that price they should come with pearls in them. I'll stick with Manna @ The Lobster Inn at happy hour @ $1.33 / oyster. All in all everything in this place is way overpriced. Will never come back.

We drove by and never even saw the place , we were up in the area for the day and the restaurant was recommended to us. We came to the place the person at the door was very friendly . The place was not big but cozy with linen service. They had a good crowd of people that seemed like a lot of locals. This is always a good sign . The prices not too bad , food was excellent. Food melted in my mouth. Decided to get dessert OMG !!!
Be the first to ReplyIt was ok.
Overpriced for sure. Always knew about it, but never partaked. I'd go back, maybe if someone else was paying. Only game around (steaks) in my humble opinion.

We decided to spend a nice fall afternoon in the Hamptons and capped it off with a late lunch at Bobby Van's. We had a wonderful time and a wonderful meal. The oysters Rockefeller were the best I've ever had. We also had an Ahi Tuna salad and the Filet Mignon both were amazing. The service was prompt and friendly. Overall a great experience.
Be the first to ReplyThe food is pretty mediocre.
The service is a little better than mediocre. There were ants crawling on the wall near my table. Ick

Be the first to ReplyI have to say to call yourself a steakhouse and not be able
I have to say to call yourself a steakhouse and not be able to properly cook a steak should be embarrassing. Ordered the bone in sirloin medium rare and was served a well done steak. The waiter was very kind and agreed the steak was over done, and so we sent it back which is not a normal thing for me. Ten minutes later they brought out a steak that had been seared but was so raw in the middle that it was completely cold to the touch. Beyond disappointing, next time please learn how to cook a steak if planning to open a steakhouse
Be the first to ReplyThis is my first review in a long time.
I had to address this and save others from a big bill and subpar food. Been there quite a few times early in the season hoping that the food would get better and maybe It was a bad day in the kitchen. But, after too many tries, i've given up. This time around, the salmon was fishy and returned for the chicken paillard which is thick and greasy. The filet mignon was way under cooked and just didn't taste right. They flashed it and brought it back but the taste was wrong. The meat quality was horrible. I asked the busboy to take it away and he saw that I ate 3 bites. The waiter and the maitre were talking in the corner looking at me. They knew the steak was not up to snuff but choose not to address. I guess the price was worth losing a customer who spends a lot going out for dinner often. I decided that this was my last visit and did not bother to address. I have to say that this BV's is the most overrated restaurant in all of the Hamptons. The food is a 6-7 at best. Many many places in Bridge, East, Amagansett and Sag that are worth the time and money and care about the food, presentation and customer. Don't get caught up with the name. Not for foodies!
