Bestia Los Angeles Reviews from The Last Year
Amazing food and service.
I'm a regular here. Just need to make reservations in advance. Also their sister restaurant Bavel is amazing.

Delicious simply! I have celiac so this was a bit of a nervous since the bottom of the menu said "we politely decline substitutions". The server and manager were super sweet and looked through the entire menu and selected adjustable gluten free options which would be nice. The DUCK and Cesar salad made our night. Highly recommend. It's very modern and rustic at the same time. The bar seating can be tight so I would recommend choosing a table option when making a reservation.

I visited this restaurant on Sunday night and I was not disappointed. We ordered the bone marrow appetizer and it was delicious with the right amount of flavor. The Margherita Pizza was delicious and the flavor was balanced with a combination of crisp and soft crust. We had the Branzino Fish and Lamb Neck dishes which were the best in flavor and so tender. My husband had the old fashion and I ordered the Pinot Noir by Nicolas Rossignol...so good. Lastly we ended with Donuts and Coffee...yum. This was by far the best meal we ever had. Thank you! Great ambience and service!
We celebrated in style at Bestia on St.
Patrick's Day for my bday. From Green Spot Whiskey to Bone Marrow Old Fashioneds, every sip was a taste of luxury. Our bartender Brian was very knowledgeable and hospitable during service and made the moment even more special. Our feast included bone marrow pasta, grilled prawns, lamb neck, scallop crudo, and marinated olives, all washed down with Prosecco. We had the Budino & Coffe& Donuts. Highly recommend the Bone Marrow Old Fashioned. The cocktail menu was beautifully done by Garret Sprague & each drink better than the last.
3/10/24 Update: Bestia is definitely not for seafood
3/10/24 Update: Bestia is definitely not for seafood lovers. They were out of branzino this evening, so we ordered the crab meat pasta (excellent) and grilled prawns (too salty). The truffle pasta and bone marrow pasta were also good. My only gripe about their pastas -- al dente is fine for long noodle pastas, but their risotto-like tiny pastas need to be softer and less chewy in a creamy sauce. Still the same very noisy, cramped dining room -- at least the people sitting next to your table can't hear your convos Lol. Not sure I will be back. End of food review. You may stop reading here, or continue on with my ramblings. x x x It's been a few years since my last visit to Bestia. Their menu remains more or less the same (bone marrow, dainty little exotic pastas, branzino, etc.) but my taste buds have long moved on -- thanks to opera trips to Venice, Milan, Florence, Pesaro, Regio Emilia and eating interesting foods along the way (far cheaper and more creative than anything in U.S. Italian restaurants including Bestia or your favorite neighborhood Italian spots.... I can say the same thing about restaurants in Peru vis-a-vis U.S.) For far less than $400 paid at Bestia tonight I could get far better food at even a touristy ristorante at the above Italian cities. You would think a successful restaurant like Bestia would have moved to a posher location years ago, but no it's still in a sketchy hood like so many such expensive foodie joints in L.A. where the environs do not match the dining experience (maybe so they can charge you $15 for valet parking Lol).
Honestly, this place is slightly overhyped.
Maybe it's because we went in expecting a lot but the food was mediocre and dry. Do not get the pork.. Ambience is a bit loud but not too bad. Overall, I don't think we would return considering the high price point for the quality of the food we were getting.
Food was ok.
Was sad they didnt have the lamb neck. Also dont cure their meats anymore. No clams... only mussels in the app. Flavor wasnt as vibrant as before. Duck was good...but it needed something... Throw in a bun... or fresh or vinegretted veggies... perhaps a little acidity needed. Pinot was excellent. Music was a little loud but vibe was fine since I had great company :) Server was great. Water was filled at all times. Valet kinda sucked but ehh.
You never go wrong with this restaurant! Great service!

We visited Bestia for a birthday and we overall really enjoyed our dinner. Parking: Valet was $13, you could probably find street parking if you tried in the area but we didn't want to be walking around in the area too late at night. Ambiance & Service: We were seated inside under the cover of the patio and noted that it was pretty loud the entire night with all the other parties around us. Service however was excellent, drinks were always filled, plates were quickly cleaned up and our server was very considerate of our asks and provided great recommendations. Food: Peruvian Scallop Crudo 5/5: Nice complex flavors, scallops were very fresh. 4 per serving. Beef Tartare Crostino 4/5: We love tartare and felt this one had a nice flavor, beef was fresh and texture was great. Roasted Marrow Bone (5/5): One of the highlights of the night and a must try for anyone visiting for the first time. Soppressata & Honey Pizza (2/5): We felt okay about the pizza. Came out fresh but nothing blew us away. Cavatelli Alla Norcina (4/5): If you like truffles definitely recommend this pasta. A little pricey and the portion was small, but full of umami. Grilled Branzino (5/5): Our favorite dish of the night! Branzino itself was fresh and perfectly cooked, all the seasonings used complimented the fish perfectly. Pretty easy to eat as well, we only had to pick out a few bones and could pretty much eat the entire fish with a spoon. Frozen Creamsicle Torte & "Coffee & Donuts" (4/5): Torte was very tart and overall felt like an ice cream cake, the bottom layer of butter cake was moist and helped offset the tartness. The zeppoles were fried to perfection and tasted excellent with the coffee ice cream. Overall we'd recommend Bestia as it's pretty much become a staple in the LA dining scene, and for good reason.

I've been coming here for years the food never misses! The evolving menu it always exciting while it keeps some of the establishments original pastas and salads that are bestia staples. Music is always settling a tone for the type of night you're about to have. Great food, a beautiful space and amazing servers who are incredibly knowledgeable about all featured dishes that guide you through the menu.
Great Restaurant in Los Angeles
Excellent food in a restaurant that is high on ambiance and good energy. We had 5 adults eating and drinking at this establishment. All drinks were well mixed and not lacking in the amount of spirit included in them. Bestia serves food family style so it is a bit like ordering tapas except the servings are larger. We enjoyed everything we ate and drank and we ate and drank quite a bit. The top favorite was the Duck, though. It was simply superb although the pasta with the bone marrow was also well enjoyed. Finally, we each ordered a different dessert. My favorite was the chocolate tart (torte?). Please note, You need to have reservations for this restaurant and you must be on time with your entire party. One member of our party was delayed. The original indoor reservation had to be surrendered 15 minutes after the time, but the restaurant did work us in and we had no complaints about where we were seated.
Not worth it
I have been to this place twice. Food is good but not excellent. Both time I was here we all felt we been rushed. First time we ( 3 of us) felt we been rushed, our server, every time kept asking are we done. We all thought maybe they are busy but second time, 4 of us, same thing we were rushed after 1 hour. Both time we had reservations. How can you finish your dinner in an hour. This is not a fast-food place. Food is expensive. They are taking advantage of tourists who go there due to Michelin star. They are better than average but do not deserve to have any star.
Magnificent dinner.
First off, thank you for all of the reviewers who highlighted their favorite dishes from their visits. I'm taking your MO and paying it forward. This place is pure rock and roll. Second, if you're looking for a quiet and mellow dining experience, this place won't be for you. There is no way around this. This place is packed with guests, the kitchen is wide open in the mining dining room (inside) and the music is loud. This was on a Thursday evening. You were cautioned. Best dinner experience I've had in L.A. Highly recommend (all have pics except the prawns, they went quickly): Appetizers: Peruvian scallop crudo: sublime flavor profiles. The staff will recommend that you consume them similar to sucking down an oyster. Do it. You'll still get the full taste. Prawns: they were so good I didn't have time to take a pic (you'll see some other dishes are kind of half or a quarter way eaten, the prawns never stood a chance). A little heat, exquisite. Roasted marrow bone: another dish that was just attacked. I barely managed the fuzzy pic I got. The server carves the marrow bone into the gnocchi. As other reviewers mention, you can use the bread to sop up the remaining marrow but those soft gnocchi pillows are heavenly. Pasta: Ricotta tortelli: very good, but next time, I'll give another dish a try. If you're dining with kids, this one is very kid -friendly with enough flavor to please everyone else at the table. Ricotta gnocchi: OMG. The servers recommend you don't mix the burrata cheese ahead of time but instead just dish out chunks of cheese with your spoon and mix in the gnocchi. Do it. Excellent flavors. Smoked sweet corn agnolotti: superb. I could have enjoyed more lobster but I'm being very picky here. I'm so happy that corn got it's day in the sun on this menu. Underrated flavor that really makes this dish stand out. Second course: They were out of the pork loin (boo), the service staff offered a sliced pork chop alternative. Mother of pearl (yay). This dish was a haiku. The pork chop was served medium -rare with a sweet flavor. It was served with red cabbage leaves that were pickled in a sweet/sour marinade that offset the meat perfectly. Simple, yet deep. Dessert: Olive oil cake: my favorite from the trio we ordered. The sorbets that accompanied the cake were wonderful compliments. Strawberry crostata: wonderful bourbon-y (not described in the menu) flavor that you detect after a few bites. Red corn maple ricotta fritters: nice taste. Don't regret the choice but I will try something different next time. This place is expensive, but very worth it. Plan on about $100 per person minimum (w/ about 1 cocktail per person). If you can splurge and won't mind the music, do it. Do it.
Very good food, but overpriced and TOO LOUD
Went fairly early on a weekday night. Place was very busy. Food and service quite good, but overpriced and VERY noisy; hard to have a conversation with person next to me and felt really sorry for staff that work in such a loud place. OSHA should check it out.
Lot of Fun in Bestia!
They are top notch service here like fine dining! The Chefs are 5 star chefs serving up amazing food! I loves their service and super fun environment. Cocktails were delish. The food is amazing, tough to get a reservation so plan ahead. The pizza, pasta and the most important is the ambience really loves it!
Am I in heaven????
Wow - what a terrific meal. Hip spot - beautiful people and food was OMG good!!! Casual but always hot spot deep in the depths of town - anyone who’s anyone finds their way. Our server was nice and all the staff attentive (our server could had been a tad more attentive w wine and check ins, but that’s ok - she was great enough and nice and helpful - just could have used a few more glasses of wine). The Caesar - might have been the best we’ve had! Scallop app - so fresh and great prep and taste! The pizza - marg, and up there w the best in earth (we took a 2nd one home), the Sugo pasta - delish and very unique in flavor. The Budino - very good, we prefer more traditional style pudding vs cocoa crust - but we ate every ounce! Aperol delish and perfect and I did a Sicilian red to start and then a Sangiovese - both perfect wines by the glass. Summary - it’s so worth the drive - it’s about as good a quality Italian as you’ll get. Great vibe - energy - people - and FOOD! It’s way above a 5 - Star delicious and awesome experience - can you open one one Beverly Hills and Manhattan Beach? LOVE IT!!!!!

Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.

When it says working on bid, it means there are people looking to fill it.
