So, if there were an option for HALF of a star, this place would get that from me. And ONLY due to our server. The "reservation" was set for 6:15 when FINALLY at 6:40 our party of 8 was seated. When our server came to take drink orders she apologized in advance for any delays as the restaurant was currently "short staffed". Our party thought this to mean short on SERVERS, however we and other patrons soon learned this actually meant THE CHEFS!! Our server did her best to get us drinks, sound and salads. BUT when it was comin up on 7:25 with NO CHEF or updates on chef my daughter and I both asked the server when we would get a chef and out dinner she returned to inform us it'd be ANOTHER 5 minutes and they were SEVEN TABLES BEHIND!!! MIND YOU, we had toddler and 2 small children . . . Thank GOODNESS we'd had soup and salad!! So, our server returned for refills after attention to her tables located in FIVE locations throughout the place and told us she got YELLED AT by the manager for asking an update on our experience!! EVERY Teppan table was filled to the brim with customers, approximately 10-12 tables. HALF of which were STILL unserved! As we all LEFT this manager came over to apologize for the WAIT. My daughter asked how much we owed for the apps and drinks and the manager said we owed nothing. I told her we wouldn't have paid it anyways and we all left. Other sources in the restaurant told us we weren't the only customers to walk out today, also said this place is CONSTANTLY understaffed and MANY complaints have been made.
Don't forget Benihana does not take care of their customers.
Not enough staff. Waited for 45 minutes nothing but a glass of water. We left. No response from Benihana. Spend your money someplace else that appreciates your business

Not sure if was just a bad day but possibly the worst Benihana's I've ever been to. The fried rice is usually a staple at any Benihana but unfortunately this one was absolutely disgusting. The rice had zero flavor, mushy and just gross. The first time I leave my rice on the plate. I ordered the habachi chicken. Overly salty and no spice to it. My husband ordered the steak, also gross. Over cooked with no flavor. The food was not only disappointing but the restaurant was so dirty. Trash / food all over the floors, staff standing around chatting. My seat was so greasy from the previous family who sat there. The hostess was so rude and unprofessional. Gross.

Stop responding trying to make it look like you're engaging with customers and actually attempting to resolve your location's subpar food and subpar service.

I absolutely loved our experience! So much fun and the food was delicious. That garlic butter is sooooo good! My only thing is, I wish the portions had more quantity especially for the price you pay. We still left hungry. The kids meal though was really big and generous. And the chicken was crispy and delicious. I think if I didn't order a sushi roll for filler, I definitely would be hungrier. The service is outstanding, from the waiters to the chef. The ambiance is cool, around the restaurant they have Japanese decor. They have tables with and without the grill. We chose the grill side because we were celebrating our anniversary, (not sure if it cost extra, but I'm sure it does) I like how the chef interacts with you and knows how to work the crowd. Really entertaining, we brought our 3 year old and he just soaked up everything. He loved it! Definitely come in for dinner and a show. It's really fun, the personalities of the chefs will have you laughing. Highly recommend!

Very bad checking in and being served although the food and server was good. We made a reservation for 6.30pm and got there but was not called until 7.30PM. We waited around with two other couples at the table for another hour and sadly two of the guests at the cook top had birthdays. After waiting at the table finally the cook came and food served. The wait and cooking and service was dysfunctional and I will never return. There are several similar Japanese restaurants with cooking at the table that are much superior. Bad experience.

This was only my second time coming to Benihana since I was in elementary school and it is still the same! The chefs are all such hilarious entertainers and it's clear this is made for kids and the elders. I think my grandma laughed the most! He pulled out the classic egg balancing, onion ring volcano, and fried rice heart. We all had a great time and the food was better than I remember, especially the meat. I only wish I didn't go home smelling like the grill! Always a fun family activity but there isn't much change with presentation so I can only really see this being special occasions.

We had reservations for a birthday party at 7 didn't get any real food by 830 talked to the manager Terry who was rude and legitimately walked away from me. I wouldn't let her manage an ant farm. Luckily Alfonso was the man and the food was great but Terry had sent 4 chefs home. I have worked in the service industry for a while in the past and there is no way 4 different chefs should be sent home at the same time. Thank you Alfonso for the great time but very poorly managed.

It was worst night ever! Wanted to celebrate birthday of daughter in law who is expecting in a month! Had 4 kids under 5 and 4 others!!! Made reservation at 8pm for 20 family and friends! Said 30 minutes behind and waited in bar with $27.00 glass of wine! 2 hrs later we’re finally seated!! Plus couldn’t all sit together!!! The 5 year old fell asleep at 9pm and missed whole experience!!! From 8pm reservation never got out til 11pm!!! Horrible experience plus waitress gave wrong credit cards back to son and son in law! Never going there again!!! Bad service and expensive!

Benihana is always a favorite Japanese restaurant to go. The staff is friendly, the food is excellent and the chef show is amazing. Our chef this evening presented one of the best shows we have ever been to, with his dazzling kitchen tool tricks, his funny jokes, kept us glue to his cleaver gestures. He kept the entire table in stitches. Thank You Jonathan for a great 40th anniversary and birthday. our food was delicious

I was looking for RA Sushi for my 1/2 birthday certificate & the map brought me to Benihana…. Now one in the same😂. I could not get my pineapple Won Tons…. Bought the Sushi was good. I was able to use my certificate🙏🏻😪

We came to this restaurant on recommendation and it surprised us. We arrived without a reservation and they treated us very well from the valet parking who was very friendly. There was a waiting list but even so access was quick, we sat at a table in front of the bar (that area of the restaurant feels a little forgotten and cold) They took a while to approach us to serve us but the waiter who served us even though He is not a formal guy but he is nice and very helpful. The food really is delicious, it was 100% worth everything we ordered and we will definitely return!
TERRIBLE!
STAY AWAY! With my family in town, I thought it would be fun to try Benihana given that we had an 8 and 9 year old with us. My partner and I are very seasoned diners/travelers- not to mention I'm also in the hospitality industry. Upon arrival, the hostess announced that they were behind and to expect to wait 1 hour for our Chef. Although we thought this was long, we agreed that we would wait. At 10:30pm our server advised that our chef would be 15 minutes longer (in a very relaxed apathetic manner). At that point I asked to speak with the manager. In speaking with the manager, it was clear to me that she had no control of the operation citing "I'm the only one here" and "I have to do everything, check employees out etc.". I explained that at the very least she should have come by to advise where they were so we weren't left in the dark and feeling forgotten. The manager continued to provide excuses while perpetually interrupting me- eventually walking away without bringing closure to our conversation. Our server was nice enough but forgot numerous things during our service; it felt like she was ignoring us. By 10:30pm the majority of the tables had left so we didn't understand why are drinks were left empty and forgotten. I have to believe she was doing her side work. Our chef finally appeared and although he was nice, our "experience" felt rushed at that point. The manager never returned to follow up in any way, nor did I see her touching other tables. What I did see was numerous other guests complaining about the same exact things. This was a terrible experience on all accounts. There were many opportunities for your "team" to recover and change the narrative, however; no one cared to. I think we all understand the hiring challenges as of late, however; if you couldn't accommodate us you should've simply closed your reservations. I would be embarrassed to be associated with the "team" at that location. Do yourself a favor skip this place.

Prepaid Reservation Fee

When you sell a reservation that has a prepaid fee AT takes a commission on that fee. This doesn’t really make sense because it’s an expense the seller incurs not part of the profit that is shared.
For example:
Carbone NYC fee to book table for 2 is $108.88
If you sell it for $200 on AT you get $140 from them.
Your net profit is $31 and AT collects $60 in fees.
It would make more sense not to charge commission on the upfront fee as this creates a disincentive and results in higher costs for buyers.

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
