Barn8 Restaurant Goshen Reviews from The Last Year
Novel place, cooking needs some work
The farm setting is spectacular and the horse barn restaurant an interesting and fun concept. The food was so-so. The server was efficient but didn't engage much. Some explanation of the menu would have been helpful. Also, a regrouping of things on the menu to separate the salads from the entrees might make it more understandable. For example, we were asked if we were ready to order our entrees but no suggestion was made that there were salads also available as a starter course. It all felt a bit rushed, but it was Fathers' Day evening and perhaps the staff were exhausted. The menu is very interesting, but some vegetables with the entrees or as a separate order option would be welcomed. The cooking needs some work.
ridiculously small portion
loved the use of the barn for the restaurant- I ordered the ravioli- and was shocked when only 2 ravioli - and nothing else-were presented to me as an entre. everyone at the table was offering me some of there meal because it was so evident that this was a ridiculously small plate for dinner. They were absolutely delicious, and I would have been happy if 4 -or even 3 ravioli were presented as my dinner. I told our waitress that they were fantastic, but I was very disappointed that only two ravioli came as my entire dinner. She told me that I would not believe how time consuming they are to prepare- so i suggested that they add 1 or 2 more and increase the price. She just walked away after my suggestion. I would not go back to this restaurant based on this experience. All the other entres were decent sized and the prices were very high for what was given- acceptable based on the atmosphere.
Food is by season menu.
I order the pasta, and it's not great. It's different, but I think you can get better deal at other restaurant's, not a lot of great choice either.

What a different experience this was! The restaurant and bar is located in an old stable and you can actually dine in a horse stall. Perfect for larger parties, more privacy or good for kids. They have an extensive drink menu, if it's made in Kentucky it's on their menu. I had the pretty little thing, vodka and Prosecco, yes please! Make sure to get the bread and butter plate. Cornbread was good but the bread plate was much better. For appetizers we tried the salad, tuna and yuca fries. Yuca was a little fishy tasting but could have just been bad batch. Salad was fresh and flavorful, fries were delicious We were all happy with our meals. Steak, fish, pasta everyone was pleased. I wish they would have used a bit less salt on the fish but the flavors aside from that were great. Save room for dessert because the peanut butter mouse, cold brew cake and ice cream hit the spot! Check the menu before booking, they change it seasonally.

The place a beautiful but the food to expensive just for 2 pieces of pork or a duck leg served with just lettuce
For what you pay is not worth food you eat.
Service was not great waiter was not friendly would not explain what are each entry. The portion of the food was ridiculous I ask for a pork Loin and they bring me a small piece of pork and a piece of fat from the pork. When I say small it's small. Well they only thing thing enjoy was the view. Never again

Booked a table because the property and restaurant looked lovely. The menu also reads as great. Don't be fooled. Chef and/or the kitchen could not execute one entree correctly. Lobster was rubbery, like chewing gum. Pork tasted rigor mortis set in. Save your money. Grab dinner elsewhere, have a drink here and enjoy the property.

Loved this experience! The barn was beautiful, so neat how the dining tables were set up in the stables. This was for my birthday so we did the tasting beforehand which was small and intimate. The bar was very cool, the grounds are beautiful. I got the duck and it was delish, the best duck that I've had in Louisville. Would recommend 100%
a bit overhyped and weird
supposed to be 'locally sourced' but I did not see the pond with the octopus or the lake with squids. the 'carrot cake' bake was an odd confection that ended the evening on a down!
W.O.W.
Very neat venue. Five of us came for dinner. Stephen was our waiter. We were seated in a stall which was actually pretty cool. The restrooms are interesting as well. Everyone goes through the same door. There are women, men, and unisex individual “room” stalls. We had the prime rib, trout, and mafalde pasta dish. It was all quite tasty but the pasta was much spicier than expected so if you like mild spice, this is not the dish for you. It’s good, but definitely not mild spice. The service was very good. Plates were cleared promptly. The dessert was fabulous. We had the grapefruit posset, Mexican chocolate, and the spiced cranberry tart. My surprise personal favorite was the posset. If you like grapefruit, you will like this! We were well pleased. Great service. Great food. Great venue.

I have some thoughts about my dining experience at
I have some thoughts about my dining experience at Barn8: Location: very, very far away. If dining after dark be very intentional about looking for signs. The restaurant is tucked away down a single-lane road and the parking lot is not directly in front. One must park, then traverse a sidewalk, walk down some stairs, and cross some gravel before finding the entrance. Ambience: gorgeous. The grounds, the facility, the décor, the co-ed bathrooms - all exquisite. I also appreciate the unique mixed dishes and silverware. Service: fantastic. From the host to the servers to the busser everyone was polite, friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. All questions were answered and our table felt very cared for. Food: this is where my experience was less than perfect. There are limited vegan options for starters/shared plates and entrees. That said, the menu helpfully designates (v) for vegetarian and (vv) for vegan, however there aren't many (vv) options. Of note, the focaccia and sourdough are both vegan and both are very lovely. Our server helpfully informed me that the mushroom risotto is vegan as long as the parmesan is omitted, and since I love mushrooms AND risotto opted for this. The dish arrived hot and beautifully presented, however it was incredibly salty. Several of my dining companions who ordered the non-vegan version noted the same. Overall Barn8 is a beautiful, welcoming, unique dining establishment that is slightly difficult to find and could do more to cater to plant based diners. If you go, the chocolate sorbet (vv) is divine - definitely get this.
This was not a good experience.
Most farm to table restaurants tell their harvesting story on the menu--Barn8 didn't bother. The prices were high and the portions tiny. A pasta dish was over $30 and had six small squares. The bread, which most restaurants don't charge for, was $15. My co-diner pointed out her minuscule portion of duck, also overpriced. The deconstructed apple pie was awful, with the apple squares barely cooked. Only the salad was a good value, and very fresh. Maybe it came from the farm. But who knows.
Three stars represents three diners.
Very mixed bag. We had dinner last Saturday. The good: service and flavors. Loved the squash soup. Pork dish was lovely. Beet and bourbon cocktail! Breads with salted butter and apple butter (although pricey at $15). The bad: Don't let the photos on yelp fool you. Portion sizes are tiny for the most part. What's going on? Over the summer our daughter had a steak entree here with a full plate of awesomeness. She showed us a photo. Saturday her duck was four small bites. With an even smaller side. Cauliflower cone had a mere tablespoon of velvety cauliflower puree. For $9. Five tiny and tasty agnolotti graced my husband's plate. The deconstructed apple pie included a heaping tablespoon of small dices of undercooked apple. I've been to Le Bernadin. Blue Hill at Stone Barns. Other Michelin starred restaurants. Always got value. I wasn't expecting overflowing platters. But two of the three of us left hungry.
I know someone who ate here in August, 2023.
He got the gnocchi entree, which contained mushrooms, which were a little rubbery, as if they weren't fully cooked. Afterwards, he had a gastrointestinal illness.
Second and Last Visit
This was our second visit to the restaurant. Our first was wonderful. The food, wait staff and presentation were excellent. Tonight’s visit was like going to a different restaurant. The food was terrible and the staff were apathetic. As appetizers we had the bread assortment and sweet potato brûlée. The bread was ok. The accompanying spreads were underwhelming. Salted butter and apple butter. During our last visit we had a third tomato based spread that was delicious. The potato was not brûléed and was topped with quinoa which had the consistency of gravel. Close to being inedible. We had the Mesclun salad. It was edible but too much cheese, not enough apple slices and overly salty. (Likely the cheese.) Our entrees were the duck, pork and risotto. The duck was okay. The pork was fine but the side of kale was too salty to eat. The risotto was likewise too salty to eat. The waitress replaced the risotto with another attempt. But this too was too salty to eat and was a totally different presentation. The first risotto was brown, the second was more cream colored. Who knows what the proper presentation was but who cares as neither was edible. As we left the restaurant the hostess staff looked to be a cross between uninterested and embarrassed. We were excited to have found this restaurant in August as there are very few fine dining establishments in Oldham County. Now it appears there is one fewer. Sad.
Great Meal
I wanted to treat my wife and the friends we were visiting in Louisville to a special meal and after dealing with Barn8's lousy reservation system, was able to secure a table. The restaurant is located in an old horse barn. Dining tables are in the aisle between the stalls and in the stalls as well. We were fortunate to be seated in one of the stalls which afforded privacy and a unique experience. We ordered a round of drinks and then several dishes, which change based upon what's growing in their extensive garden and what's fresh locally. We enjoyed trout, pork loin, fried cauliflower, and cast iron cornbread. Each was excellent. Before dinner, we had the chance to walk around the vegetable and herb gardens. After dinner, we walked through a light show that was conducted in the woods behind the barn.
Don't forget to go here
We made a reservation at this restaurant and had to change it several times. They were extremely accommodating. The setting is absolutely charming and unique. Our food was wonderful the drinks were fantastic and the service was top-notch. Some of the tables were set in the old stalls of the barn and we absolutely love this place. We will definitely be back.

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!
Worked perfectly
Was a little nervous at first but was pleased to see that the booking went through flawlessly.
Highly recommended.

Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.

LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
