Searched the Internet and this restaurant was one of several that made great soufflés. I viewed menus as well as read reviews and of course another deciding factor was to have a superb french dinner. Well Au Petit Marguery rive gauche has these attributes and more! We started with a shared salad Salade de gambas, sucrine croquante, vinaigrette à l'orange (King shrimp salad, crispy sucrine lettuce, orange dressing) . The dressing was light not overpowering and the shrimp very fresh. For the Plat my wife had the Magret de canard du sud ouest sauce miel et balsamique, Fricassée de légumes de saison (South-West duck breast honey and balsamic sauce, Seasonal vegetable fricassee ) The duck was medium rare juicy and tender, the vegetables were cooked perfectly and the sauce was a great compliment. I ordered the Lapin farci à la brousse de brebis et tomates confites Mijotée de côtes de blettes et jus de sarriette (Rabbit stuffed with fresh ewe's cheese and tomato confit Simmered Swiss chard stems and savory sauce). This was a fantastic dish. The stuffing was moist and hinted of cheese again not overpowering and the sauce very good. You know a good Restsurant when the sauces are made from many hours of simmering stock and reducing to a thick Demi glacé. Now for the finale. The grand marnier soufflé came out puffed and golden. The waitress took the bottle of grand marnier and poured it over the soufflés and flambéed them. When the flames went out it was time to indulge. These were light fluffy and so so tasty. The waitress was cordial and hospitality above and beyond! We sat in the solarium this was s great atmosphere.We will be returning when in Paris again next yearNot sure what others were saying that this was not a lively place! There were many tables full when we went at 9:45pm. You don't rate a restaurant on how lively/busy they are. You rate on food, atmosphere, service ...etc
